Jack and Diane in that film made the young jealous of the old. In a youth-obsessed society, that's called ART.
"A romantic comedy starring Jack & Diane whose combine age is 125!" LOL! That's a killer speech :)

Diane was hilarious in that flick… heartbreaking too. She deserved an Oscar, too…. But THAT Academy preferred a scenery-chewing star “playing” a serial killer in a rebooted story that was fraudulent… just monstrous! More Diane!
I fall in love with Diane every time I watch that movie. What a great film!

Keaton's performance in'Somthings Got to Give' was a pure Masterclass in acting. Over the top at points, but that doesn't take away from the sheer artistry of it all. I saw this movie the first night in my college dorm so many years ago, and it has stuck with me ever since.

Diane has the spirit of a 30 year old! I love it!
They were all so great in that movie...loved it!
This woman is so gorgeous and sooo talented, I love her.
I love her!!! She’s so talented!!! Never saw a bad movie she was in.
Love that Richard gave her the award. They were great together in Looking for Mr. Goodbar.
That was so cute and touching and classy at the same time. We love you, Diane! And Jack!
I love that movie, Diane deserves this award, oh, yes.
I loved Jamie Lee Curtis in Freaky Friday, I always marvel at her performance in that movie. But I’m glad Diane won for Something’s Gotta Give bc it was truly one of the best performances I had ever seen in my life. Both amazing actors and I love them in both movies. I wish the movies were released a year apart so the both could’ve won. It was a tough competition.

Diane is so sweet and so lovely! I really love her!
I love her way, shes so free and alive and spontaneous and wildly gifted. She was perfectly cast and so was Jack Nicholson. Its one of my favorite kooky films that gets you
Keaton. Muse. DIVA. Queen. :)
She's someone special. That movie remains one of my faves! Love me some Diane Keaton❤️
So cool reunion of Looking for Mr. Goodbar stars Keaton and Gere.

Only she could've pulled off Erica Barry. She was brilliant!

Instead of using cocktail waitresses as a quick and easy fix... I need to remember to do what I have always done in time of crisis... Escape the pain and suffering and go watch a movie. Watching Miss Keaton accept her golden globe for Some things Gotta Give not only cures the pain but also gives me the kinda closure I have been using those poor cocktail waitresses for..!
My favourite movie!!! And what an acceptance speech :)
God! She's so beautiful in here
You look great Diane in this video.
Did she just say shit hahaha
the film really is good I just watched it

If Diane Keaton wasn't nominated, then the award should have gone to Jamie Lee Curtis. It would have been a coin toss between those two actresses.

No, Scarlett should had won. Her movie was up for best picture and she won the BAFTA. Diane was only nominated for an Oscar por her prestige not really because she was deserving of that
Alec Baldwin admiring Jack from behind :)
she is beautiful and zany. always interesting.
I didnt know she won this...she si great...i like the movie with her and mandy moorr as well
Diane, I am going to steal this outfit from you.
@Tigerlily21 Comedy doesn't necessarily mean laughing his ass for 2 hours .It's not a Farelly brothers movie! There were definitely comedic elements in LIT.Maybe we weren't watching the same film.
man, she is an interesting woman.
Erica Barry seductora como nunca❤❤❤

I dont know. Diane was really good! Scarlet too, and the other Diane too in "Under the sun of Toscany", but 1) "Lost in translation" is not a comedy and not a musical, is a drama, clearly., so, it was in the wrong categorie. 2) "Something is gonna give" was a classic comedy, and the story wasnt easy to do, too people over 50, almost 60 falling in love like teenagers, so, i feel Diane make a wonderful job there. Comedy is not that easy.
I definitely believe it was more of a comedy, maybe you were watching something else? It was funny!

who are you addressing ?
Why does she ware gloves? and hide her neck? and ware men clothes. I always have wanted know.
It keeps on bothering me that she acts like 57 is so old and that she keeps claiming it is far-fetched for a woman of her beauty and charm to find love. Almost an anti-feminist, very retrograde kind of an outlook. To say it's rare for a female in Hollywood to find such a juicy leading role at this age would be valid, but that's a different message.

2004 Lucy......times come fast.....also, if it wasnt for diane keaton and specially, Jack Nicholson....it would be pretty hard to pull off a romantic comedy about two 60 year old people.

One of the biggest studios declined the offer to give financial backup to this movie because of the fact that main characters were too old. Year 2004, completely different Hollywood. I am not afraid to say that this movie made other things moving forward in the question of aging and showing age in films

@@lucyfoster4082 I truly love Something's gotta give because it is a romantic comedy to me. I will not try to argue with you about it because everyone has different taste in...basically everything. I must agree with you about Harold and Maude - you have a point. On the other hand, 70s were just too magical, too wonderful for moviemaking and nothing will ever bring back that magic.

Mary Jane Song No, I’m agreeing with everything you said...it just occurred to me that H&M was the obvious outlier. But I guess was meant to shock.
Shame she doesn't know to fix herself up, or doesn't care how the hell she looks.😷

scarlett's performance was not for an award in lost en translation. She was very new, where she did an excellent performance was in marriage history
@gabbyb7347
3 жыл бұрын
@@fanshorrormovies6249 and Diane Keaton's was? Let's face it, she was only nominated because she is a respected actress not because she deserved it for that mediocre rom com. Evan Rachel Woods and Scarlett Johansson were more deserving. Nobody was going to beat Charlize anyways so why not nominate actually great work and not just a mediocre performance just for the sake of nominating an already respected actress
@alohahihisingleboy8832

@@gabbyb7347 This is not accurate. Diane was not nominated in so many films she was in. If it was only for her prestige she should have been nominated many times more. Her performance here was far better than Scarlette. Meryl Streep has great compliment for her in Marvin's room another nominated role of Diane.
