Harry Sanborn (Jack Nicholson) is a perennial playboy with a libido much younger than his years. During what was to have been a romantic weekend with his latest infatuation, Marin (Amanda Peet), at her mother's Hamptons beach house, Harry develops chest pains. He winds up being nursed by Marin's reluctant mother Erica Barry (Diane Keaton), a successful, divorced New York playwright. In the process, Harry develops more heart pangs -- the romantic kind -- for Erica, an age-appropriate woman whom he finds beguiling. However, some habits die hard. When Harry hesitates, his charming thirtysomething doctor (Keanu Reeves) steps in and starts to pursue Erica. And Harry, who has always had the world on a string, finds his life unraveling.

Love the actors and the conversation, but i must confess, o came to stare at the kitchen. Its a character all by itself ♥️

This was released 6 years after Nicholson's Oscar winning turn in 'As Good As It Gets'. He hasn't aged a day! I often get the two movies confused in my mind - similar 'oldie' love stories, and weirdly similar titles! Good to see him reunited with Diane Keaton here after they were star crossed lovers in 'Reds' in 1981. Jack Nicholson's filmography is massive - he so deserves his retirement, he created an incredibly full and high quality body of work, God bless him. One of the world's all time greats for sure.

Jack Nicholson and Diane Keaton as leads in a classy romantic comedy-when I watch this scene a certain movie quote comes to mind: you should be kissed and often and by someone who knows how. I just see it in this scene somehow.
Why did she have say NO to the pancakes? I make delicious Apple Dapple pancakes, looking for that “forever partner” to make them for…with maybe some crisp bacon on the side…and some hot cocoa with little marshmallows….I’m getting hungry….

Pancakes or ain’t over priced, gourmet deli rallies a beautiful home for any time because I love to cook and I love food and I love Jack Nicholson I just wish Diane Keaton would please stop using her tongue, be it to indicate awkward repressed sexual thoughts or anything else I’m just so not into that. She is beautiful and I know she’s odd but so am I and that clicks I would pay good money to spend eight seconds in the turnstile entrance to her hotel just to have been that too sad a delicious human being he is outstanding!
Marin was so obnoxious and rude. Obviously part of the story but I couldn’t stand her in this scene.
