Exactly my thoughts. Same thing with Elasti-Girl / Rita Farr / Gertrude Cramp actor April Bowlby. Her reactions are priceless. She nailed it and keeps nailing it! Love the show!! Only thing that comes in mind weird as this show is Happy!

In terms of acting,Dianne is phenomenal.The way she embodies the different characters is amazing.

Agreed, I didn't know who she was until I saw her character pop up in the shows teaser. Her role was made for her! She is the only who can play her, I just don't see anyone else being able to play her well and look good doing so.

I love reluctant heroes/anti heroes they are my favorite type of heroes.

I'm so glad they brought the subject her race there because you know what when it comes down to it the nerd culture we don't care what you are as long as you represent that that's all that matters we care about the content and we love it and we care about it and we're glad to have it and we're happy to have it and we love our comic books and our nerd stuff so I'm so happy for her I'm glad she's doing well and I can't wait for season 3v

I’m a diehard DC fan but I couldn’t get into doom patrol at first because Titans to me was so bad I did not want to give doom patrol a chance. I love orange is the new black and she’s one of my favorite actors on that show and when I found out, she was one of the main characters on doom patrol. I had to watch it. I thought she was great in OITNB but holy shit she blew me away with how good she is on that show. It’s crazy because really OITNB and Doom Patrol was really her introduction to us and she’s just getting started. I think she’s going to have a very long and successful career ahead of her.

The trolls haven't come out at you for not being white, because that's mostly just the narrative the media spins when people dislike a movie. Yeah, some people are prejudice is various ways, but it's not the majority of hate when a film or show suffers from a backlash. It's usually because the show or performances are disliked by large groups of audiences, such as The Last Jedi. It wasn't women haters and racists like the media tried to perpetuate... the movie is just divisive. Your performance as Crazy Jane is definitely not, and the fans adore you for the most part.

Only problem I have with her as the character is that she's a toxic feminazi accusing Cliff of having toxic masculinity, misusing the word misogyny, the moment she flipped out on Cliff and he responded and everyone got mad at him for it. Other than that she's great as the character

@@MachinaX7 A) that's not Diane, that's the character and the writing, and B) you have to deal with bit of that shit in this day and age, given the media. It just depends on how much you're willing to take. Doom Patrol? I'll deal occasionally. Batwoman? Nah, I'll pass.

@@MachinaX7 - The purpose of all that is Jane overcoming her childhood trauma, in which she was sexually abused by her father, and the other experiences she's had with men in her life. It's not explained in the show, but there's a moment in which she's freaking out because she and Cliff have to go to a church. In the comics, this is because she was raped by a drunken man at a church, in the confession booth. It was in this moment that she shattered his glass bottle and killed him in self-defense. Each of these instances played a hand in further shattering her psyche into its current state. It's understandable that she'd be apprehensive towards the opposite sex, considering all that's happened to her. Both in the show and in the comic, she has to develop through her experiences with Cliff and the other Doom Patrollers until she's at a point where she's able to open herself up to other people (and men) and trust them. A character shouldn't be judged so absolutely when they've got such a broad character arc.

Welp, I don't think it is discrimination. what if no actors with DID show up? and why do you need for them to be played by people with DID? is like saying depressed characters should only be portrayed by people with depression...

@@user-zk9dx9oh2d the thing is, DID is a much different thing than depression. it is much more stigmatized and extremely complicated. people without DID who play characters with DID just won’t understand the role enough, and takes away opportunities to have people with DID involved in acting. it adds to stigma a lot, because when only actors without it play it, it makes it feel like it’s not a real thing. People with DID can bring a perspective and realism that other actors just can’t, even if they’re really good. and, DID is one of the most common mental illnesses around. it’s estimated that at LEAST 1-3% of the population has it, which is more common than bulimia and red hair. i can promise you that if a casting director specifically asked for people with DID to audition, then people would. id be the first in line. DID isn’t this extremely rare and scary and mysterious thing, and the reason you might think so is directly because of this issue! we need to be involved with characters with DID. because trust me, characters acting that they have this mental illness while having no idea what it’s like and only serving as entertainment to everyone else, is 100% discrimination.

@@zachariefelixasteroid9669 I actually know all these facts you told me, and how DID is not scary or anything. the point is that casting actors and auditions is more complicated than just saying "I want the paper" or "you come and act" so I think there had to be a really good actor with DID. and you think actors who don´t have DID portraying characters with DID is discrimination? like a lot of actors are good at portraying mental illnesses and are not trying to say they suffer the same illness of their character, it´s just their job. and that realism you say I think It doesn´t depend on the actors, but in the writers. the actor just portrays but the writer decides what they act. so I think it would have more realism if the writer had DID, but that is just my point of view

Do you have any idea how many erase there is in this world? Do you have any idea what it would look like if we had one character per race for everyone in the world ???.. let's not get all SJW here. let's just focus on stories and good shows and movies. If the character to which the writer is Hispanic or a POC of some sort and find an actor or actress to fit that character race. But let's not purposely put rice in the story because there's not enough quote representation unquote. .... If anyone noticed when shows or comic books or anything in the entertainment industry that sells a product goes sjw that's when the product starts to lose in sales

I thought about this as season 1 was unfolding. I love the show so much and adore her character (despite the fact that, at times watching the season it was more of a fascination of the character rather than liking the kind of character she was). I really wanted to show this to my friends and for them to see what I do. But I kept thinking "Will they be able to deal with Jane and be interested enough to want to take the ride?" I think it's all about patience. Looking at where she was by the end of season 1 I was happy I took the leap and waited for the story to unfold. Yet, it may not be a journey everyone wants to take. First impressions can be everything in life and on screen, whether there is more to a person inside or not.

Strange, she was the most memorable character to me, followed up by Mr. Nobody, the Robot, and the wild mage. I also liked the cyborg playing the 'straight hero' as a contrast.

So Dorothy was just a walk in the park? Ugh she was sooo annoying. Jane and Cliff were my favorite. Larry was cool at times but ugh I HATED hearing him talk to the spirit inside of him the way he did. That poor spirit went through a lot as well as it helped him and his friends not die, saved them multiple times yet he still didn't treat him like a friend like WTF?!

Please cancel this show before there's a season 2. So awful
