Have you heard about the petition to get Ms. Ross inducted into The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist ? www.change.org/p/rock-roll-hall-of-fame-ms-ross-deserves-to-be-separately-inducted-into-the-rock-roll-hall-of-fame If you have signed, or even if you haven’t, you can write to Jon Landau 750 Lexington avenue New York, New York 10022 (nominating committee). When doing this make sure to say you want to see Diana Ross on the ballot for the 2022 induction !

The Supremes as a group should be inducted into the Hall of Fame, if not already. Ms.Ross as a solo artist should be, also. Ross also should be inducted as solo.

But all of the Jackson's talk like that. I think her influence in that manner spreads throughout the family. It was already close to the way their mother speaks as far as tone, but you definitely hit the nail on the head about the cadence. MJ, Toya, Janet and Jermaine especially have that same Ross-ish cadence.

I've been looking for this interview for years. Diana Ross has one of the most beautiful speaking and singing voices I've ever heard. She is simply the best! Because she sold more records than any female singer in those days, and she did it when there were no tricks, in the face of many who said she couldn't sing. Her concerts were always full house. Many dismissed her as some kind of pop-tart that would fade away in a year. They didn't get it, and never did. Too bad for them

I think it’s because everyone knows the 60’s was an incredibly pioneering time. Things changed drastically around that time and set path for the future for sure. Diana Ross was a huge part of the change, so it was easy to call her a legend by the time the 70’s rolled in. Especially after her successful first two solo singles; Reach Out And Touch and Ain’t No Mountain High Enough. It was like… damn… how much higher can this black woman go. Legendary stuff.

One of the most candid interviews ever witnessed. Now, I really understand her even though I’ve been a fan since the group first started and the early Motown glory days. She’s did it! Diana Ross self-actualized. It was great to hear how the name change of the Supreme came about. And it’s unfortunate how singers of her caliber aren’t appreciated and recorded due to age discrimination in the industry. I just listened to the non-CD release of Diana Ross Sings Songs from The Wiz and was astonished to hear her voice displayed in such form. Her vocals are at it’s best. The ballads are unbelievable. And Quincy Jones has said that she is hardest working person with whom he’s worked. From Quincy that’s quite a compliment! Check out her last few studio albums and you’ll be able to witness what we’re missing now. Thanks Diana for sharing The Gift...

What a great interview with Diana! I've loved her and Motown since I was 13 in 1964. I could listen to her talk (and sing!) all night long.

This is a great interview. Diana is relaxed and at ease with Russell Harty. She is honest and candid- especially when discussing her disappointment at loosing out to Liza Minnelli at the Oscars. Frustratingly The Russell Harty Show was not Nationally Networked across the ITV Network, so many fans including me, never got to see this interview when it was broadcast. I've had to wait 46 years....
