She was the first crossover superstar. Men of all races loved her as a beauty and talent and women loved her fashion and elegance. Bravo Diana you paved the way. And yes many before you paved the way for you too.

So Beautiful Of Diana Ross & Young Michael Jackson.
Fabulous Diana Ross. Diana Ross: The Best.
I’m old enough to remember when this came on TV! I’m so happy I can watch it over and over now. In ‘71 I was 13 years...just like Michael. The highlight for me I’d Diana doing the three classic comedians in B&W. She’s already a good actress.
OMG Diana Ross is AWESOME!!! I love all of her songs.
She was ravishing at that time.....so innocent....so talented and off to an amazing ride.......thanks for posting.

She was dynamic. At her age here 26? 27? She was far more dynamic and talented of a singer than many of these so called singers today

@@erossinema8797 Yes indeed. I was born in 1973 (50 now) and I love the 60s to mid 80s. Diana Ross, Donna Summer, Cher (70s mainly), and the Pointer Sisters are my top favorites. Afterwards come Tina Turner, Chaka Khan, and Bette Midler. My collection is huge including photos. I do have the complete Diana! 1971 special just to name 1 thing. Legendary classics!
I remember this special. I was 17 yrs old when it aired. Couldn't wait to get the soundtrack album. I was always a Diana Ross fan. I was 15 I think when The Jackson 5 debuted. Was a big fan of them also. So this Diana Ross Special was a treat for me. I've been looking for this for years. I just happened to search YT and there it was. I also wish I could get a dvd of this. This was when Michael Jackson was at his best (my opinion). Thanks for the memories! 🎤🎶

Michael was always at his best. If you’re gonna say a compliment say it and don’t make it backhanded. Michael was at his best and then became the greatest the older he got.

Who knew the first chlild that Diana interviewed, Berry Gordy's son Kennedy, would grow up to be Rockwell, the singer who recorded the hit "Somebody's Watchin' You", which featured Michael and Jermaine Jackson in the background?

Oh, this is where the skits she did as the Three Stooges came from. I read that she got the part as Billie Holiday in "Lady" because the producers had seen this skit, and recognized her talents to act.

Underrated, what could you possibly be talking about? I guess we're from different generations because back in the day this was the talk and a very big deal. At that time very few black entertainers could get or have their own prime time TV variety special on a MAJOR network with the exception of a Sammy Davis Jr. and later in 1975 a Diahann Carroll, not talking about her sitcom "Julia", that was 1968. No, this was a very big deal for a Black entertainer in the United States at that time.

Her TV specials were so good. I wonder how many she did?
For us big Diana fans, it is interesting that "Remember Me" on the soundtrack LP is a different/alternate lead vocal with applause overdubbed, yet the vocal Diana is lipsyncing to here in the video is the original released vocal mix.

Always Queen of Motown 😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
This was around the time that Berry Gordy moved to Los Angeles to break out in the TV/Movie industry & started Motown Productions which produced TV specials for Motown artists, Diana! With Diana Ross, TCB with The Temptations & Supremes, The Smokey Robinson Show with the Miracles & Goin Back to Indiana with Jackson 5
She is the best!

I had never seen this before and really appreciate it BUT, the altered Aspect Ratio makes everybody and everything Wide! It was originally 4:3 (TV aspect ratio) that has been uploaded to KZread here in 16:9 (Movie screen aspect ratio- same as today's HD flat screen TV's also) and it distorts the whole picture.

what did mj say to Diana at 45:35?
I love the beach and I climb up the mountain and bungee jump fo' Michael's heart. I surf in that Pacific ocean.
Dianna Ross rocked enough worlds without thongs.
Wow how I miss Michael Jackson and diana Ross I still like them both to be husband and wife sad that it didn't happen, still I love them so much ,I miss Michael Jackson and also diana Ross.
...Yea, J5!!😃
I have the paper sleeve of the announcement for this, and the Motown logo at the end I never knew that where it was. A short version of the Motown pro. Logo was for a Rankin/Bass TV show for the Jackson 5ive
For that break up scene, play it's all over by the fuzz, watch Michael walk away .

how in the hell do you cover such a iconic sound n don't omit the highlight of the song??
