The serated edge is so you can line them up with an existing already placed row. So in this case, you would flip it and have the solid aluminum outside the drill area on edges of the painting, or just lay it flat on the canvas so that it lines up better and none of the ruler is completely flat and causes less issues when placing diamonds. I use my tweezers to lift it up off the canvas. To make sure the drills made it through to the canvas and not come up when removing the ruler, I go over the area with my white handled straightener.

I've had my diamond painting ruler for a few days and I was putting hte flat end on the diamonds like in the beginning of the video. I did find the more I did, I got crooked. So I do have to fix it, but I've put the serrated edge(??) butted up against the diamonds I've done. I think that's more accurate. I'm loving the ruler and the click it makes when you put a diamond on the canvas is very satisfying :) I've used multi-places too, but what I've had to do with the longer ones is to rock it over the ruler instead of going head on like you usually would.

Nest ruler against beads already done. That is what those guides are meant for. The thick side should be on the sticky part of the canvas. If you don’t have it flat on the canvas, it will leave the lines. If you use the ruler totally down on the canvas and do that for the whole section, it goes quickly, section by section. I can complete a 30x40 within 4 days

Hi there, just ordered a set of mesh tools and looking forward to trying them out. I'm a new DP'er and was curious about the painting in this video. Welcome! Now mesh rulers do come in different sizes so check them when you get them that they will work with your kits. Not sure why they come in different sizes 🤔.. Either way, of memory serves me right I was working on Free like a Bird in this video. It's a round kit from Diamond Art Club.

I loaded the entire ruler area while doing my doing my painting and then tried to lift it up off the canvas. It is very hard to get up off the canvas; while taking it off my ruler split from the main area (the open end). I thought this would be a great aid. But, now it is too dangerous to use. I cut my self in the process. Any one else having trouble using it???

I have many ideas! 1.The block of wood that came with it...perhaps use it to press down on the completed section? 2. If the one edge has the shape of the diamonds, butt it up to the completed section and put the solid end on top of the folded back cover sheet, or a piece of parchment paper NOT FROM DOLLAR TREE, so you can lift it up when you are done. 3. Write the company~ Hello friend. You are happy we order from you. We do not leave negative feedback when you happily provide helpful information on use of products.
