  • @texas8322

I used to do diamond painting, and when I saw you pull that plastic sheet off completely, I swear I saw it in slow motion. I will say that the company you got it from must be super good quality, because after a few days of doing a painting, that sticky backing was starting to dry up on me. I basically live in my truck, and I just didn't have the ability to store my finished paintings or those in progress without damaging them, so I had to move on from them. But I did like doing them. Oh, and you are just like the rest of us, because we all get a wrong color going in the wrong location at some point, and with the size of that thing, your average for mishap went up exponentially.

It was a challange that she set for herself. It doesn't mean you have to complete a piece of art or any project in the same time frame. I enjoy watching the genuine creation of these pieces. I've done large dimond paintings, and these struggles are real. So many creaters show the begining and the end product and cut out the middle. Making it seem like it's quick, simple, and painless, and that you can't mess it up, as they don't show that.

Stuck diamonds are more common with square shaped ones. If you come across a lot of them than another good method is to put them into a plastic container with screw top lid, like one from pills or something similar, drip in few pennies or other small coins and shake them vigorously for 10-20 seconds.

Diamond art club is my all time favorite company to purchase from! I’m disabled and don’t work so diamond painting has really helped me fill my time with something that not only makes me happy but also relaxes me and helps with my anxiety tremendously! A few tips for anyone interested in this hobbie, 1 don’t take all of the plastic off unless you’re planing and changing it to release papers, 2 setting a hard deadline is not necessary for the most part…. All it usually does is force you to overwork on the kit and lead to a burnout and takes away the relaxing part of it, 3 if you find that the pens that come with the kit end up hurting your hands you can buy thicker pens and that really helps! Enjoy your diamond painting! ❤️

As a diamond painting veteran, I suggest taking your time with your next ones (if you plan to do more). Diamond painting is really a very relaxing marathon, not a dash. It is a hobby for me and work on it sporadically to avoid burnout or physical pain. I also suggest getting a wide variety of pen widths to avoid "writer's cramp" and having water nearby to drink at all times. Your painting turned out beautifully! I've never tried doing one quite that big but it's on my diamond painter's bucket list!

So I think it took 4ish weeks and i didn't have a multi tool so it was one by one and it was predominantly a single colour which was a bit demotivating.

I have been Diamond Painting for 3 years and DAC quickly became my favorite place to purchase my kits for so many reasons. My motto is the bigger the better because I feel like I am getting a bigger bang for my buck. It can take me 7 months or so to complete a large kit and I love that because these are not cheap kits. One way that I make sure I am getting plenty of movement is to diamond paint on laundry days. My crafty space is upstairs and my laundry room is downstairs. The wash / dry cycle spaced just right to force breaks when diamond painting. I am much more comfortable when playing when I take the proper wiggle breaks.

I’m doing one now that is 144000 drills, my biggest so far and and I am so glad I’m almost done. I’m always listening to an audiobook, and it’s so nice being able to read during the painting. Only 6 sections left (I always make 10x10 cm sections to break it up). Using another dill pen can help immensely in pain in hands. I personally never use the pens that come with it, as it hurts my hands to much. And switching back and forth placing drills with tweezers instead of the pen helps loads. And bigger drills trays save a lot if time if you planning on doing more Diamond paintings 😊

you might wanna give it a clear coat to protect it, the beads starts to loosen up after a wail and he coat specifically made for diamond painting will prevent the beads from falling, looks amazing!

that might be true on cheaper lower quality kits but on a good quality kit there's no need. diamond art club actually warns against sealing your finished kit (iirc it actually voids the warranty if you do). if you're not displaying it i recommend either putting it in a portfolio or rolling it up (ALWAYS diamonds facing outwards so they don't squish in on each other and pop off) and putting it back in the box!! i've never had a problem with DAC drills falling off a finished canvas when stored properly ^^

When I diamond paint, I always listen to something, whether it be music or an audio book! It always helps me focus also it looks so good ❤❤ Edit: My favourite thing to use when I diamond paint is a large tray and multiplacers (multitools)

When you spill you beads the easiest way to pick them up is with a damp finger...I lick mine and just tap on the spill they attach and you can just brush them off into the tray

I love doing these. I'm currently in the middle of a 50cmx 150cm one but I've had to collapse my desk while I'm moving office. These do hurt my back from 8 hours of leaning over them though so I resorted to a desktop easel to put it at an angle so I can sit more upright. For my new office I want an architect desk so it can really help my back.

Yes, easel is great to reduce back strain. I have been doing diamond painting for over 6 years now and initially encountered same back problem. The architects desk is not something that I would consider, but a desktop adjustable artists easel was a game changer for me.

While I have yet to try Diamond painting, I understand the pain you went through. I completed a cross stitch with a little over 49,000 stitches in just on 6 months. It’s tiring, but they end result is worth the pain! Beautiful work, Sarah! You should be so proud of it.

Something that helps me with 5d diamond painting is to invest with a light board under the painting. It helps with reducing the strain on my eyes, and i bought through “ali express” large resin like pens that are curvy and feels better when you’re holding it and it comes with changing drilled heads with different sizes so you can pick as much as 10 diamonds at once.

I love diamond painting and have completed 18 kits so far; many of them are quite large. If you decide to keep diamond painting an easel may help and using putty in a multiplacer instead of wax will help tremendously. In my opinion Diamond Art Club has some of the best kits and selection out there. You did a fantastic job on your first kit!

Just finished a 110K one from DIamond Art Club called Mountain Castle. It's so gorgeous. I love the big ones myself and do them over several months. I love this one of Venice. Might have to add it to my collection. For folks that want to try this out, something I would suggest is a light pad. You put it underneath the painting and it helps illuminate the little symbols a lot. My eyes are kinda shot already so it really helps. I had the space so I bought a drafting desk. These can be angled so you are on a slant so that you don't have to bend over as much. I adore diamond painting and i hope you get to do more of it Sarah but at a slower pace :-D Thanks for a great vid!

First off let me say you are an absolute inspiration to many. I'm working on 120 x 50 diamond painting. I'm near the finish line after working on and off on it for 2 years. My job outside of the home involves being on my feet doing hotel laundry most of the shift. Plus I squeeze in a 3 mile hike on my days off. I'm an outdoorsy girl, lol. My tip to you is invest in a standing desk. I have one & I love it!
