I'm so glad I found you on here! Your work is amazing and I'm so appreciative of the tricks and recommendations regarding the resin! I have run into the exact same thing about the edges running down the sides! Also for some reason, my pieces have remained gooey. Maybe I didn't have the mix right. Would I be able to do another layer of resin to fix that? I'll email you the pieces I'm talking about to see if you can help me fix them!
Hi Jane, must stop watching your wonderful videos and take the plunge to do the wooden panels with yupo and resin coating. No questions as l have read all the comments below and you have generously answered any that l may have asked. Many thanks for the great videos you put up . You have inspired me to do the panels, previously used resin on tile coasters so not afraid to use it. The set up process is most helpful so l am digging out some old canvas art and all the bits and pieces l need for that part. Had to travel to another town for the Golden GAC but now have all the things l need to start. Many thanks again

Hi Jane, Great video, Thank you. Do you do anything to the alcohol ink on yupo paper before the artresin?
I would love to resign...But I am not game to try it ! ....I will stick to varnishing......these works all look stunning the Resin really makes them pop ! ❤️
HI, thank you for such clear videos very enjoyable. Please, can I ask how did you stick the cut-out yupo paper onto the base yupo paper? Thanks K
Hi Jane, your video is excellent, thank you! A question, no matter what I do, I keep ending up with little dust bits in my pours. Do you make any special preparations of the room when you do a pour?
Hi jane.... fabulous videos you do... it's 4.30 am here in rainy old England, I'm still awake thanks to you! Here's what I like. Your commentaries re. what's needed, choices etc, is succinct yet quickly said. You have a knack of telling us a lot in a short a time as possible - my personal difficulty is, having a mental health illness, I find it hard to concentrate if there are long drawn out vocalisations during demos, where the commentary is dragged out by too many 'err...um...s'. Meaning, the well-meaning commentator is trying to talk us through something whilst getting immersed in the work, and I'd rather they said 'sorry, switching into work-mode now, can't talk!' than continue to TRY to talk whilst actually working. So the audio bits can get (maybe it's just me?) agonising. I find yours well-paced, easier to follow and if you go fast, I have the choice to rewind and listen again. Whereas when we're listening intently for instruction, and up to a minute (yes I have timed it, in sheer disbelief! ) elapses between the start of the sentence and it's actual end, containing the info we need - SCREAM! And even more SCREEEEEAM when commentator has forgotten start of sentence. I know, it must be hard (I'd never dare to do a demo!) --- am just telling you and my fellow fans my Room 101! So for me, I like your pace of describing what we need and find it refreshing. I like your work itself. One question though, from a novice here; when you say you measure half resin into the glass jug, and half 'the other' - well I may just be tired and full of morphine but - what other, please? What liquid is in the 2nd big white container you measure in with the resin? I kept replaying it but somehow can't find it... is it a pouring medium or something please? Keep teaching us, won't you? You are good at it. So thank you.
Really enjoying your tutorials Jane thanks. Please can I ask how you create the effect of the shapes on the pieces in this tutorial, is it the contact paper or have you stuck your own inked shapes on a background? :)
I am about to use resin for the first time and I love how thoroughly you demonstrated the process. I’m very excited and I hope my results are as lovely as yours. Thank you for taking the time to make this video.

Thanks Jane. The cup leveling increments is so simple yet effective! Thanks.

Great instructional video! Question about removing the tape. What the ideal time frame and do you use a blade or just fingernails and is it possible to damage the surface while ripping off tape. Thanks
Thank you for teaching us this..I've never worked with resin ..they look great! I just find when the music comes on I have to turn it down, then when you speak I have to turn your voice up..just so you know ..it can be a bit frustrating...but I loved this lesson
Thank you Jane for every single wonderful video you have taken time to share with us! I have watched and love each one! I have tried the resin experience four times. The finish was beautiful and successful but Last time the new wide blue painter's tape I used did not work. My sides were ruined and the resin seeped through. It cost a fortune to frame but salvageable! Is your green tape from Canada? I didn't ever see the tape in your list of products but maybe it was there. Thanks. All tapes are NOT created equal!!!
I am such a freak about exact measurements that I use a small kitchen scale. My years of baking have made me realize precision is crucial.
Hi Jane - thanks so much for your videos - they have taught me so much. I happen to work with resin quite a bit for jewellery making so you might want to try letting your resin sit for about 5-8 minutes after mixing and a lot of the bubbles will rise and disappear on their own. Since your resin has a 45 minute "pot" time you should be ok before you pour. :-)
@JaneMonteith
6 жыл бұрын
Wendy Blacksin yes I do that quite a bit. Thanks for watching 😊
Do you by any chance have a tutorial on the art work that you are applying the resin to? And what is the sizeof the wooden panels. They are lovely.
I use a clear plastic cup big enough for the resin amount I want to mix. I use water in the cup and mark it half way with a Fine Sharpie, add the rest of the water to complete the amount I need and use the Sharpie to mark it. Using this method means I don’t have to ruin my measuring cup. I can either wipe the cup out good after resining and reuse it, or throw it away.
Will a magnetic mixer work OK for the resin? Thanks so much for this wonderful video!
Hi Jane, what kind of tape is that you use around the edges to keep the resin from spilling over? I didn't see it on your list of products on Amazon. Thanks for all of your talent and sharing!!!
Hi Jane, I noticed on another video that you used sandpaper and it looked wet. Can you tell me what grit you find safe to use? Thanks so much love your videos.
Beautiful thanks for sharing ❤ would be possible to share tbe step By step video how to make the On art work that you are using to resin
Hi Jane, i love your videos, they are so helpful. But i cant find the wood panels anywhere in the links you share. Can you pls tell me where can i get it? Thanks.
Hi Jane I live in Australia. I just love your posts. Do you make your own wooden blocks, or do you order them online?
Hi Jane! I’m assuming these are collage pieces cut from different paintings on Yupo? Do you have to color or treat the edges of the cut out parts on the top layer to keep the white from showing, or is the Yupo thin enough that it’s not necessary. Thanks for the great videos!
I love your art and am enjoying watching your videos! Do you photograph or scan your art when you are finished? Also, how do you make prints of your artwork? Can you please make a video showing how you do both those things?
@JaneMonteith
6 жыл бұрын
rsp717 I scan my art and edit in photoshop. If I do prints I use a local printer. Not sure when I’ll be doing a video of scanning and editing. But I have had people request this so maybe in the future I will.
Love this! Thank you! Do you have a video how to apply those designs you have on your wood panels?

Joyce Cintron yes. Www.janesclassroom.com
Hi Jane, Thank you for the great video. I was wondering what would happen if I added some other material paper on top o the alcohol inked yuppo, kind of like a collage, and then tried to resin it? would there be an issue with resining it, considering that there will be a bit of uneven surface due to the paper collage pieces on top of the yuppo? will I still get a smooth and even resined surface? if not, what are you recommendations for adding art or lettering on top of yuppo from other material and then resining it? thank you so much.
Excellent finish! Where do you get these panels made?
Great video....have never used resin....not sure if I will or not...but very interesting......is resin expensive to use on artwork? What do you figure it costs to do one of your pieces you show in your video here with resin?
Bonjour Belle vidéo super 👍🏻 Question ou trouver les cadres en bois ? Merci 😘
Thanks for a great video! How do you clean the glass container? I would NOT want to use plastic and throw that out into the landfill. Please let us know how to clean the glass container, I bet you need to do that within the allotted 45 min.?
Wow!!! nice. Can I put resin on all surface?
great piece. are the circle designs done with alcohol ink on yupo paper then adhered to the piece?
No, no. I appreciate Your time spent on this helpful video, so I will not have to spent a lot of my time on trials and mistakes. Perfect.

Could I do this same process however on a table top? Ty
So you don’t need to put a protective coat over the alcohol Ink on yupo before using resin on it? Thanks in advance!
Hi Jane I am wondering what medium you used to get the black background on your piece. Thank you

I use the parchemin (baking paper) too 👌 :) unfortunately, the problem I struggle with the most is the tiny bubbles :( I use the torch and the resin seems flawless and yet here they are, once all seems perfect and the piece is already dry. Are your resin layers totally perfect or there are some minor flaws on the surface? Great videos, by the way ❤️❤️❤️👍😊
You done a great 👍 job with taking us step by step. Thank you thank you.
How can I fix a canvas that is showing diamond dust particles? It would seem the little glass pieces are too large and did not submerge well and are noticeable when viewed at certain angles.
did you treat the paintings with anything before the resin? like before you mounted them to the wood panel?
What do use to glue down your pieces ? Thank you
How do you get the small pieces of tape off that stick to the edge?
What size yupo paper did you use and where did you get it>
Hi Jane! I know that you made this video over a year ago, but I just watched it. I love your work and you explain things so well. I would like to know how and what you use to cut the round full circles and thin circles on the yupo paper. And, what do you use to glue them on the background. I tried cutting out the thin circles out of the yupo paper like you but they didn't turn out as nice as yours. Thank you so much.
