I am new to alcohol inks and yupo paper but loving what I am creating :) I have a question in regards to the birch board you used - do you only recommend this type of board for mounting? • @JaneMonteith

tammy anderson yes. You can still add GAC100 as that acts as the sealer. Gesso is a primer that prepares the surface for painting. So because I am adding yupo, to the panel gesso isn’t necessary but I still would seal it.

Hi Jane! I have a question and I hope you are someone here can help. I want to mount photos on the wood panel. Would this technique work or would GAC 100 glue it down? My photos are the same size so I can not flip it upside down and weigh it down like you did. And I don't want it to warp if the dry time is too long.I tried Lineco PVA but it dried way too fast (maybe I should have diluted it.) Also - the 3M adhesive is probably a no go also - the spray clumps and the sheets I have read a lot of horror stories. Gluing down just seems like a safer choice.Any way. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Jane, I'm just loving your videos! Thank you for generously sharing your ideas and skills. You are a gifted teacher. Anyway, I was just wondering: why prime the board with GAC 100 if the next step is to mount Yupo on it? I thought that the priming was to avoid Support Induced Discoloration, but if non-pourous Yupo is in between the board and the paint/ink/etc, then I'm wondering if the step is necessary. is there another reason why you are priming the board besides to avoid SID? Anyway, thank you for your great videos. You are inspiring to me!

Anne Livingston you’re right. You don’t have to if your covering with other material. Most times I leave the top but some people will paint the boards instead of mounting so it’s just a basic step for everyone. 👍🏼😊

Love your videos!! I noticed that the GAC 100 can be a polymer or acrylic primer. Which do you use to seal the board?

Geraldine Powell prime where you are painting. I should have a link to my shop in the description box. But you should be able to find most products locally if you have an art supply store in your area. 😊

From where did you get the coloured Yupo paper like plastic?

Do you ever use acrylic paint on Yupo? I always use Acrylic and have never used alcohol ink. Do you know the difference?
