To all malaysian out there, ni aku nk cerita pengalaman aku 2 hr lepas. Aku attend 1 seminar di tokyo. Dan bersembang dengan 1 group dari egypt. Dorg ni postdoc di salah 1 universiti di egypt. Bila tau aku dari malaysia salah sorg tu mention pasal Tun M.. salah 1 yg dia ckp kita bertuah dpt pm spt Tun M.. bergunung2 dia puji tun M... aku pelik mcm mana kita sbgai malaysian boleh kutuk macam2... parti mana pn memimpin mesti akan ada kekurangan. Bn dlu pun janji mcm2.. bila menang election smpai next election pun tak buat... same goes to PH.. but at least give some respect to this old brilliant man...

There are probably not many Malaysians who will say this, but I will say it. As a Malaysian, I have a LOT of respect for Mr. Jokowi. I was in Jakarta during the Jakarta coblos when Mr. Jokowi first campaigned to become the leader of Indonesia, and I still have a lot of respect for him right now.

Aku respect dia sebab dia berani menegak kan keadilan dan bicara tentang kebenaran. Soal kecerdasan itu number 2 lah. Semua pemimpin pun punya kecerdasan. Tetapi mereka tak berani seperti tun M.. contoh nya negara arab dan wilayah2 mereka. Gigi jari dan bersiul sementara saudara seagama mereka dibantai dgn kejam dan diperlecehkan ..

Apa yang mengkagumkan aku mengenai Tun M adalah kebolehan beliau untuk menggunakan simple english yang mudah difahami untuk menerangkan sesuatu isu yang kompleks. Tak perlu menggunakan perkataan2 boombastic untuk menampakkan pandangannya yang gah tetapi hanya vocabulary yang simple sudah memadai.

Some of them giving a long and confusing question. A good question is straight to the point, with no self opinion and if possible only a short and clear general statement to make a transition from the previous question.

Remember that the audiences are not any tom dick and harry or people can just walk-in and ask questions. The students were selected to be there. I think the questions asked by most of the audiences are quite clear, it is Tun M that did not get it or chose not to understand the question. Even the moderator have to repeat his questions again and again.

The host is very irritating, even I find it difficult understanding some of his questions are unclear. Mahathir re-asked him to repeat his questions several times. The host keeps saying 'that's not the point of the question'. I don't think he has good healthy brains in understanding the implied meanings of Mahathir's answers...

that singapore boy really playing the victim. you get the water with a cheap price and then sell it to your own people with an expensive price. i myself working in singapore and you know for a mineral water in malaysia i can easily get it at rm 2 and below meanwhile in singapore it's around rm 4-5 for a bottle of water. that's insane right.

sorry to interrupt but? it costs singapore RM2.40 to treat every thousand gallons of water. by selling it to malaysia at RM0.50 per thousand gallons, singapore makes a loss of RM1.90 per thousand gallons. that’s what the singaporean student meant by singapore “willingly sells 11000 gallons more water to malaysia per day”, because singapore makes a loss every time they sell water to malaysia. also, the water in singapore is more expensive because of the higher level of income and singapore + the higher costs of production + the exchange rate between ringgit and SGD. the singaporean student had a lot of valid points, but he was far too rude and he didn’t do his research properly before asking these questions. wish someone else would have been given the chance to do so in order to engage with fruitful debate, not just a mockery session.

Jeffery Wong you realise that Singapore didn’t have a choice back when the treaty was drafted? In 1962, singapore had little to no resources of water. We were struggling to survive without water, and the water agreement was the only way out. Water was the key basis of all Malaysia-Singapore agreements, and Singapore was afraid if they angered Malaysia in any way or another, Malaysia would then cut their water supply. But now, the tables have turned - Singapore will be able to depend on NEWater for 40% of its entire demand by 2065. However, Johor still depends very much on the treated water that Singapore supplies to them. If Malaysia does not resign, it will definitely be very inconvenient for Singapore, but with ASEAN established, Singapore can simply turn to other neighbouring countries for water. Frankly, Malaysia needs Singapore more than Singapore needs Malaysia pertaining to the water crisis, and the talks of cutting the water supply are frankly all bullshit.

The interviewer continue to asked stupid follow up questions about why the ban on the Jewish people not the Israel government. Heck, who the hell is this people representing in the games? It's Israel, led by the Israel government

+Harvey Ch we just show our view about israel country. not that we judging the individual more over 1 who hold israel citizenship. dont forget it needs a group of individual to form a country. so banning this individual is kind of form disagreeing with a group of individual who supporting the creation of that country. he is a citizenship lives in israel. he knows that was palestinian land yet he is still proudly presented as isrealis sportsmen. we see the act for 70 years of land taking is wrong. so we show it by not recognizing israel participation.

Im a singaporean and i agrees with Tun M.

I love the way our PM answered the question by 'provoking' critical thinking. His way of answering questions showed that he is not a dictator. Everyone has the right to have his own opinion but we don't have the right to force people to buy our opinion.

We want the prime minister like this who can rubbish all buyers question to us.

Think about this...this grandpa...he's 90s flew hours of flight to visit this youngsters...answering their questions...trying his best to full their empty cups...he cant listen at times but he tried with smile and laugh..IT IS COOL.

Watching from KZread i also can feel a strong sense of awkwardness during Q & A session, hoping the session will end asap...

It's so embarrassing to listen to the interviewer-cringing in fact. In how many ways does he think he needs to attempt a question?? He should do his homework on the Prime Minister. This is a dialogue not an interrogation.

He is 90+ years old and english is not his 1st language and you expect him to fully catch your 1000mph speed lengthy questions? Slow down mate...i think it maybe because of the sound system though. We viewers can hear it clearly but it could be slightly different experience if you are inside the hall. Im sure he can answer all those questions precisely if he get those questions in a form of text. Im really suprised with those biased media tbh. They condemned us of being antisemitic but does they really know on what is happening in Palestine right now? Killing innocents or not allowing people to participate in a competition? Which one is much more inhuman? OPEN YOUR EYES MY FELLOW HOMOSEPIANS!

93 years old , and doing an interview this long for kids to understand his perception and views on domestic and foreign issues. If his questions doesn't satisfy the kids , it's because at his age , he doesn't need to filter anything to be politically correct. I'm not sure what sort of answers some of the entitled ones wanted, but it's rare for a World leader to give a very frank and honest opinion without much filter.

Tun M is a bit out of touch with many international issues. I expected him to answer straight away when people mentioned "Huawei".

They dares to ask about us not allowing Israel athletes into Malaysia just because he's just an athlete and not the 'government' of Israel. Wth. Israel literally taking other people's land by killing a lot of innocent children and women which happens to be just a normal citizens of Palestine (just like the athletes of Israel) and this dumbass moderator just closed his ears and eyes on this matter and let the things slide while claiming our PM being racist on not letting Israel athlete set foot on our land. And guess what it's our land so we get to choose who we allow to enter. And you can say what you want, but we are not going to have any diplomatic relation with Israel. Full stop. If got problem with that, well what can I say you're not Malaysian so stop putting your nose on other people country. He even closed the issue when Tun M mentioned the fact about the robbery that Israel did on Palestine land and said "I'll passed the question to the audiences now". Ridiculous. They're not their right mind these people. I swear smh

Even i'm not really satisfied with some of Tun's answer but i'm a proud malaysian and happy to see Tun stand there and able to answer all the questions. Tun maybe having a jet lag or not in a good condition. Because i can see him looks so tired because of the journey to oxford. But i love the way he answer back to the question by his own style. Semoga Tun diberi kekuatan oleh Allah dan sihat sejahtera. Hoping i can meet you one day.

He just don't how to KISS. Keep it simple stupid, when Tun answered he just doesn't get it. And keep on repeatedly say that is bot the point, that is not the point. The problem is not with the answer but more into he just cannot get the answer - the Dr. M style, sacarstic and get to you back kind of answer. ,😹

I think he means the fact that he didn’t pronounce Dr M’s name correctly. As for the prodding questions or roundabout questions, that’s very common in all of these institutions/interviews.

Honestly answering all those complicated without straight to the point questions would leave me stuttering and speaking with long pauses in a 45 minute session with no BREAKS, i would honestly feel embarrassed and faint later on because of the pressure. Respect to you Mr Mahathir.

As a Singaporean we always want to foster strong relationship with Malaysians. That scholar at Oxford is definitely going to regurgitate and spew one sided talking points. Most importantly, we are both highly civilised republics and must not go down the path of sabre rattling but rather by mutually fair dealings and cooperation we can progress together.
