Dial in your Outboard Motor Height - Maximize SPEED and Performance with the On The Fly Jack Plate

On today’s episode of Fishing is Therapy we install what I believe to be the best middle ground jack plate on the market, the On The Fly Jack Plate. This jack plate is fully adjustable while underway and allows you to make adjustments depending on weight. I love it and want to share it with you.
Thanks for watching!

    Is your 1548 a flat bottom as well? I guess thats the max speed to expect with a 20hp. Been thinking about upgrading tona 30hp...but its just an idea at the moment.

    Nice, I'm actually headed to Mount Pleasant, SC area to do some sheepshead fishing in March. It will be my first time taking my boat to saltwater and first-time targeting sheepshead. Do you fish in that area?

    Interesting, I have watched all their channels trying to get some insight on what to expect from the weather and fishery down there. They have great content and catch some nice sheepshead. I plan to fish creeks, piers and bridges. I was worried about getting out in the jetties, I heard they are neat the shipping channels and swells could be rough at times.

    Tilting the motor up was problem with the carrying handle there. I sawed the middle portion out and it works perfect now.

    @chrispeterson1247 Yeah I ran into that issue and that's why I cut the handle to allow the jack crank handle to go through so I can put on my transom saver. If you have the sake outboard this was the outcome I was forced to do.

    Yeah, I wish there was a easy way to take it off, but I couldn't figure that out and didn't want to screw anything up. I got the hunch that I would need to do it, from another person stating they had to do it on the internet before I installed mine, which made it easier for me to accept once I had to.

    11 pitch with new jack plate

  • @fishingistherapy

    @fishingistherapy

    I haven't purchased an 11 pitch yet, as the Jackplate with my 10p has allowed me to dial in my speed very well with a heavy load but I'm still seing around 21-23 mph with RPM at the top end between 6100-6180 by myself. I think the 11p will reduce the rpms by 200-300, but I do think it's worth trying. What do you think?
