My floor was uneven and adjusted one of the legs and the top it's level now but I think the damage was already done, it still bangs during spin cycle. On medium or heavy loads the banging is very loud but on a light or an empty load there is no banging. Maybe mine has a different issue, like the shock absorbers. I have a hard time diagnosing the problem since there is no banging at all on a light even load. I've read that if the balance was the issue, it would also be out of balance on an empty load.

That sound, my washer was moved into a mobile home, and it shakes all 70 feet of frame. Recently moved into a house, and just like the place before, it shakes and hops. I installed the dryer on top of the washer, still hops. I found after transport the shock absorber on the left rear came apart during transit. This time it won't stop jumping, so like you said, the bearing has light freeplay, but not enough to make it that out of balance. L{ks like I need that spider yolk assy.

Yep but it’s expensive, considering the age of the machine and a tech to fix it plus parts cost (my spyder) would have cost $150 if I recalled correctly. I just ended up buys new one.

Make sure to throw some bricks in them before getting it hauled away for a replacement.

Hey my washing my washing machine loosing drum and noise start to Tatatata when it's spinning what should I do

  • @richardj8853

Hi there, a few days go we noticed that the drum was making a terribly loud squeaky noise when we manually turned the drum clockwise or anti clockwise and later found out that the drum in certain areas was rubbing against the front door rubber seal. The technician who just rotate the drum with his hand to diagnose the issue said that the drum , the door rubber seal and suspensions would need to be changed and I wasn't convinced . So I wanted to check if my washer has a broken spider as well. I can share some videos of my washer if that helps . Thanks !

Yes and unfortunately the same brand, way less features since it was clearance sale and Miss matching colors. Also spoke to House Boss not to over load it otherwise we will move to hand washing in the bath tub at least she will have AC and not be outside in the heat. I had to explain how overload is extremely inefficient and does not get it clean. It’s better to do 2 small loads. The debate still continues when I see the entire machine shaking on the spin cycle 😂.

Your Spider is probably Cracked/broken I think it’s about $150, your drum might have cut the tub, and or rubber lining. My spider was cracked and tub was cut. I was going fix the tub with an epoxy cement and replace the spider, but parts take a week and wife had to do laundry because of 3 toddlers, so I bought another one. It’s still disassembled in my garage. I was thinking of fixing it because it’s a way better than the one I bought. My fix would have cost ~$200 in material only. One of my videos show the spider arm cracked.

Thank you so much for sharing! This is exactly what's happening to my machine right now. I got an estimate and it was close to $700.I know I cannot do this type of repair. That's kind of steep I feel I'll be better off buying a new washer.Do you agree Or should I get another estimate.

you are correct that the cost is between 600 and 700 and even if you have it repaired another arm will probably fail in 5 to 7 years. the front tub is also likely to fail as in this washer and my own washer. the spider is made of a cast metal, probably a zinc compound and electrolysis is what is causing this problem. it exists on samsung, lg, whirlpool kenmore and several other front loaders. i will avoid front loaders in the future.
