Playing sorc, im crying 😭
Once you hit post game/above level 50, the damage drop off for sorcerers in WT3 and WT4 is just insane. You have to play a very specific build that is carefully crafted or you just do nothing in comparison to the other classes. If you don't play an ice build, you just can't measure up at all. It makes the class way less fun and almost boring. Even then, the best sorcerer build lags behind the other classes when it comes to damage and, as you said, you have to go all in on offense which makes you very lacking in defense compared to everyone else. It makes it so all defensive skills are practically a must.
I grinded sorcerer to 90+ thinking this was the best class I could have possibly chosen. I grinded Rogue to like 65 and wondering why I was playing on Sorcerer this whole time. With sorcerer I struggle with some elites while on rogue I clear entire dungeons without even remembering if I saw one lol

that's becouse sorc was really good at 50-70 content, so everybody was just.. having a blast. Then they started to hit 75... 80.. 85 and even worse, 90+.. and they started to do High nightmare dungeons. The changes to the exp helped to bring the "big" sorc audience to the late game... which is why the frustration of the sorc is showing now. Before you would see high end lvl sorcs expressing their frustration, but they would get stopped from low level sorcs around level 60 with phrases like " bruh, i am lvl 60 and i destroy stuff, you need to git gut and fix ur build" and stupid shit like that. Now all these stupid people are also 80-90... and now they finally understand.

You hit it on the head. I feel like when I teleport in everything either lines up perfectly and all mobs get deleted, or nothing lines up and I have to kite them around until everything comes off of cool down.
It's a shame because sorc has so many interesting modifiers to change things up - ball lighting orbiting you, fireballs bouncing, homing charged bolts, etc. Unfortunately it's almost always better to have boring damage increases. I'd love to see aspects be more focussed on personal choice / expression than being directly related to damage.

The aspect for the lightning ball orbiting around you seems to be bugged. When you put the aspect on a two-hander it can potentially reduce it's damage by a whole 40%, it's supposed to make it better, not worse. 😞
Pushing to 100 and really be struggling on 60-70s nightmares, I play to avioid ALL damage and my build is almost as good as it gets Corpse bows are an issue, they need less range or a wind up before an attack. You should feel stupid for getting nailed by a corpse bow, not feel like you were cheated. the ghost types are waaaay too mobile for ranged type mobs and the projectiles are either too fast, or the hit boxes and tracking are broken. banshees/wraiths are over tuned in general. Teleporter damage needs to be significantly reduced or straight up replaced with a CC along with the DOT damage before an ice bomb goes off. They both one shot you before you can react and there is no work around. Blood boil can’t be damaged by half of sorc skills None of the affixes should one shot you no matter what.

Same it's been a pain to play Sorcerer. For sure starting s1 with a different character.
Went from Mack trucking everything to having to wait for cooldown if I don’t eat the entire mob up on the first kit dump, I’m making a struggling bid at no fire bolt passive and only teleport and frost nova. TRYING to be a viable lightning mage lol, level 93 and still going so hopefully it’s working. Great vid, in depth, nailed how it feels to be a sorc. Atm.
Great analysis, spot on. Was just saying the same thing to someone last night, it's the same three skills for every sorc build. Wish you would do the same for other classes, you have a keen eye for analysis.
For me, I'm level 90 on my Sorceress. And she was amazing early on. Very versatile and fun to play. But level 50 was a hard stop. Really had to invest into a build and legendary aspects became very limited very quickly. And thats the sum of the whole build. It was amazingly versatile... until it wasn't. It became you NEED the aspect, This Paragon Board, This enchantment is required, this unique... it wasn't so much make a build in a variety of builds as much as it was, you have to run this and only this... and even then, you're relatively weaker than everyone else. I feel Necromancer feels that way going into end game as well. It went from being the most balanced, not to strong, not to weak and fun regardless of element... to very restrictive, weak in pvp, low damage outside rotation, and even the best damage isn't from a skill at all. Its from a legendary drop. Ice spikes are crazy strong, but they aren't my ability. Its a by product of a legendary aspect... I can't express how dumb that is. No matter how many points I put into any other skill, 1 aspect is just better outright.

Blizz needs to prioritize the resistance fix for s1 OR make some short term buffs to help out sorc survivability until s2.
In dungeons I can fly through im safer fighting a pack of 30 elites than i am looking for more mobs with nothing on my screen, that's just silly. Give me one shot protections from normal mobs once every minute or 2 at 100%hp, or increase the mob density by 100% already, or make my shields last 30-40% longer. Getting one shot off screen by a normal archer minion because my shields fell of while full health is ridiculous.
I have a lot of fun with Sorc, but I feel like I spend most of my build and aspects on defenses. The intense focus on defenses just to not get one shotted feels bad. I would really like to see qanother enchantment slot available, and some options to get armor on the paragon board. I didn't see much on the paragon board that seems good at all. Definitely needs work.

that sounds like a skill issue, we're glass cannons. dont get hit and dish out dps. ez win
i've come up with a couple solutions i really like to help sorcerer. #1 - allow crowd control effects to apply at 0% effectiveness to unstoppable enemies and bosses. that allows us to get our damage bonuses and damage mitigation effects that are based upon affecting crowd controlled enemies. #2 - buff enchantment master on the paragon board to be 100% increased effect of enchants. this is a large buff to many enchants, and would be a strong enough incentive to consider dropping firebolt enchant (as 100% increased effect of those tiny burns wouldn't mean much, but a 100% increase to another enchant might be worth considering).

That would definitely help, at the moment I'm not sure lightning inflicts any ailments, but crackling energy or the "shock" effects that reduce enemy damage could be rolled into that somehow.
At the moment Sorc is just about the squisher class, with very little survivability with a very limited immunity cooldown (fire shield) and that all in trade for the lowest dps. The worst class for end game, I am quitting playing at level 75, and only coming back to the game whenever they fix it Season 1 or 5, whatever. yeah, that's one of the biggest problems facing sorc that's trying to play any lightning or fire build. a way to fix it is to use frozen orb enchant with the aspect for 2 additional explosions. that gives pretty decent chill and vulnerable. the only problem is, we don't have that many enchants to work with, especially if we are already forced to take firebolt.

@alaiaylaia3676
Жыл бұрын
@@Tconant1415 Yup, that helps too. Just felt like the lance is not triggering frost nova often enough and my build lacked a consistent source of vulnerability on its own so threw in a hydra as well. Which ended up being very useful later into the game, higher tier nightmares when getting killed started being an actual possibility. Frozen enemies are much less likely to one tap me. The spell I'm not using to make space for the hydra is flame shield. Got an aspect for ice armor to make me unstoppable to compensate. Since you mentioned the free UC cast aspect. There's a thing about it not many people seem to know which makes it absolutely godlike. It doesn't just simply throw out extra spells as the wording makes it sound. It activates a "duplicate" UC, throws a spell off of it and immediately deactivates it. Meaning each trigger of the aspect counts as UC/cooldown activation and will trigger various other effects. Like an arc lash enchantment, making you spam ungodly amount of area stuns. Which all do damage via Shocking Impact. Staggers bosses pretty quickly. I run that for boss fights - frost nova and arc lash enchants (burn is provided by hydra). All of them die in the first stagger. The free UC cast aspect also triggers the Protection perk (barrier when you use a cooldown). If you wanna be fancy, you can take Static Surge paragon to get 10 mana (or Prodigy aspect to get 15-25 instead) each time you stun something via arc lash enchant by way of the free UC casts. Not great in an arc lash build unless you also slap in something to actually use the mana for tho. Works great in other lightning builds tho. Pretty much single-handedly solves mana regen, don't need anything else

The number one problem for sorc in d4 is the paragon boards lack of great glyph slots, along with the some of the rare nodes being good, while they are counter-intuitive to pick. Like the one with attack speed and dmg amp to your summons. There is a frost bolt enchantment that applies chill from direct spells. It has potential imo, ice shards don't chill on their own, but Im not sure if its worth over burning enchant. Feels like there could be a 3rd enchant slot for sorc, maybe at lvl 100? To make the class whole.
i just put frost bolt and fire bolt on the enchantment and added the chill multiplier and been doing fine with the adding chill that way and some enemies freezing from time to time plus icefall with frostbite at my current level adding 40% damage to chilled plus devas on skill tree works great some mobs getting two shot by ice shards and without the enchantment of ice shards the shards just bounce of frozen enemies so just changed from vulnerable to the shard skill that acts as if they were frozen and just rely on exploit for the vulnerability and frost nova when its up
Great vid man
Up to now, I still think all classes should get a dedicated Ultimate button. It would stll requires that choice with points invested but at least nothing has to be sacrificed button wise. This helps Sorcs out as you said because having the defensive utilities are almost mandatory. Barbs would also benefit as most builds will take the 3 shouts. Both damage and survivability depend on the same cooldowns reducing clear speed.
Sorc is the only class that I have played through Open Beta, Server Slam and early access release. Unlike most, I do not use any Fire skills. I had a vision for my build and have stuck with it. It is a Cold/Lightning hybrid. It has thus far has carried me to level 70. I am not a speed racer and I do all the story quest and side quest. Now, that is all behind me and all that is left is NM dungeons, Legion events, World bosses and Helltides. I do strongly agree that Sorc should get its 3rd enchantment slot back to increase build diversity and versatility.
they could take the enchantment from fire bolt and put it in the paragon tree on one of the fire board legendary nodes.
Although it’s not a sorc specific change I really wish they would give ultimate skills a separate slot that’s not shared with the other skills as you already are limited to only 1 so it makes no sense that many builds(for all classes) just don’t pick one at all. I agree most sorc builds are currently forced into building around frost nova and fire bolt however I enjoy how the ice shards build plays. I’m mobile and feel tanky. I was able to get to 100 fairly easy and level the glyphs quickly. I was able to crush it in PVP, legion events, helltides, and world bosses. I never felt I was under powered. My main complaint with ice shards is actually about how the visual animation looks firing the shards. Looks more like a rapid fire DH from D3 than a sorceress in my opinion.

I play [frost] sorc as main. I browsed all the comments and what I didn't notice anyone mention: The Butcher eats me. I see others slay him with ease, for me it's an epic boss battle every time. I enjoy the difficulty of it, actually, but it's a benchmark that seems to highlight an imbalance for me, personally. I kill him less than half the time, but never when I am pushing NMDs 3-5 levels above me - in those I am reliably the fresh meat. 😅

Did this vid mention the folio bug not allowing aspect rewrites? Because thats the only actual bug im aware of
I just wondering why the exploit glyph made enemies vulnerable on hit for the other classes but not for the sorcerer, for the sorcerer just increase dmg to vulnerable, but for example for a druid every single hit u do to an enemy make them vulnerable, the same for barbarian, u can used pretty much wherever abilities, but sorcerer is just frost nova, the multiplied don't scale either, meaning no dmg output compared to the other clases, and finally u get 1 shot right and left
In some ARPGs, ie: Phantasy Star Online 2, another button is used to bring up a 2nd skill palette. Maybe something like that can be implemented? It would solve the problem of sacrificing two slots for Basic attack and Ultimate.
In diablo three there is a ring that gives extra damage for an element. Ice, fire, poisen, etc. The damage type cycled to the next type every 4 seconds. So you have to time and line up your skills to fit in that window. This type of thing is typical on sorc builds. It is not exclusive to diablo universe. It is also present in DandD, Forgotten Realms, and even Star wars.
*Teleport is the reason we play as the Sorc.*

Running an arc lash build and survivability is the big thing. I can do fine mostly up to tier 50 depending on the affixes but still, I can just die instantly if I get a bad hit when a barrier drops.
This may not be responsive to you final question, but there is a D3 QOLthat I would like implemented in D4 = When you compare an available ring with your equipped rings, shot BOTHof the equipped rings, not just the lowest item level one! ... Thank you for letting me rant. ... Love the vid and your advice.

i use the same build on lvl 95 and finished a tier 60 nm dungeon. Was not that hard but my damage was a bit to low because my glacial aspect currently is not the best. Think i can go higher when i get the blizzard aspect on a item with higher item power so it does more dmg
if they would just. remove the damage cut from gravitational aspect. why is it there. rogue's encircling blades does a similar thing and comes with a BUFF, so why does ball lightning have to suffer?
How does raiment of the infinite replace inferno when inferno gives free casts. I think fire should get access to guarantee over power since there's focus on being healthy. Or a way to detonate burning.
I've been theory crafting on sorc a lot lately and I finally settled on a build I like. Let me just say conjurations are op and conjuration mastery is giving me a 60%+ multiplier. I suggest people break away from the traditional outlook that you need 4 defensive skills on your bar and give conjurations a try. With frost blades enchant and nova enchant I'm popping off frost novas so fast I have perma vulnerability and don't need nova on my bar. Lightning spear perma stuns everything on screen and hydra provides burning. Cd's coming up so fast I have constant barrier which is stronger then ice armour which only gives barrier off base life. Raiment has horrible stats and glass cannon will get you killed so not needing it for this build feels great.

The only thing these problems with the Sorc cause, for me at least, is that it's not a good first character to have, because you do need good aspects on your armor and weapon AND the best gems AND the best glyphs. For example in order for the Ice Shard build to work much better you need the Exploit glyph. Before you have that glyph active, you won't clear areas as fast as you should and will end up burning up your mana (unless you have another way to replenish it faster), like I have ended up with. I don't have the necessary uniques/aspects or glyphs at lvl 56 and I find myself dying way too often because everything's always on cooldown and the Ice Barrier doesn't reset as often as I'd hope. In other words, play another class at least until you have everything you need to make a good Sorc that manages to level up to 50 with as little mana problems as possible while surviving and doing damage. I'm now planning to replace my Ice Shard Sorc to a Lightning build AFTER I've actually gotten all the aspects and glyphs I need for it with another character (Ice Marksman Rogue). Oh don't get me wrong. It's very clear Ice Shard build is strong when done right. I just don't think it's a good first character/build to use.
Very particular video. I agree that the biggest problem of this class is far end game and dealing with high lvl undergrounds. It is easy to buff glifs and rush 100lvl due to best crowd controll effects but at some point that effectiveness stop and it is very hard to go any futher.
Got mine to lvl 100. Not sure if i stay with sorc or switch...
I really like running this class, but I am tried. Of getting one shot out of nowhere
I gave up on my sorc at 77. The two people I regularly play with both play rogue and they were doing more damage than me, we're tankier, had more consistent dps and were also so much faster that I more or less spent my time trying to keep up. Itemization is a pain! The reliance on cdr and mana management feels really clunky and the more stats you need to have on a single item the harder it is to find an upgrade. Maybe I was just unlucky but I just never got the sorc to "work". 😢

Rogue often builds freeze into their build to add a bit more survivability. This actually severely gimps sorc since most of your damage comes from freezing enemies but the Rogue is faster so they freeze mobs before you get to them and when you arrive most of your damage is reduced by 70% at least because lots of the enemies are now immune to your freeze. If neither of your friends were freezing or applying chill then I dunno but in my experience, most Rogues I've seen use freeze and compared to our freeze which lasts a long time, Rogue freeze is weak and goes away quickly only serving to make enemies immune. When partying up as a sorc, your best friends are Barb and Druid with a fellow Sorcerer being a potential good ally while Rogue and Necromancer is the absolute worst for sorc synergies. Not all Necro use frost but some can and that's enough to wreck your entire DPS. You might start questioning WHY sorc gets decimated by a single ally using freeze and that's a good question to be asking. Barb and Druid players though absolute love sorc as a partner, they rarely hard CC anything so when enemies get rounded up and just freeze in place for a good while also making them vulnerable it just highlights the team up.
I am a casual gamer who mainly plays Sorc. I really enjoy the class but as you stated, the firebolt enchantment finds its way into every build. Another thing I have noticed is that of the core skills Ice Shards and Chain Lightning are good but the others leave something to be desired. Even with a recent update Ice Shards seems better than Incinerate in any situation, particularly once the aspect that allows Ice Shards to pierce has been unlocked. I am looking at ways to make Incinerate work but it is tough... The Key Passive skills have two skills per element... I would like to see some key passives that are not element specific.

Even better they better to give better synergy and alternating abilities like druid has with aspects that allow key passives to apply to other skill groups.
Blizzard Sorc: I recently got rid of the Firebolt-enchantment slot.Because i replaced the 4th slot from ultimate with Hydra. I never used this 4th skill slot at all. So i freed it up and hydras make enough enemies burning now. The incredible upside to this is that as enchantment i now can use anything i like. Want Insta-Freeze: Take Frostbolt. Or take Teleport with Raiment and permastun and port nonstop. Works wonders
I dont use flameshield. Dont know with only 2 seconds and never knowing when the oneshot comes, i cant time it like that^^
I've been running meteor + hydra and having fun, currently lvl85. However "comparison is the thief of joy", when I do a legion event and see how fast the other classes are I has regrets.
I was fire sorc from the start of the game. I tried to find a fire sorc that beat uber Lilith, couldn't find it. So I changed to an ice shard build at level 77. The damage is so much higher than firewall / meteor using Ice Shard / blizzard. Wish there was more balance in the builds.
Flame shield no longer removes DoT. Binding embers aspect suddenly has a cooldown before you can move freely thro enemies lol. Dmg is not calculated properly appling diferent status effects in wrong order and some doesnt stack with aspect of control. Lootr table was changed and moved to area based and its very hard to find anything useful. Basicaly if you havnt found bis gear before that - you can forget about it. Chain L. Has huge dmg disperse and bugs when too many enemies are in range you start to do almost no dmg.
i love play my light arc Sorc but shes really bad at high levels.... btw i have like 44% CDR on my gear but it only shows 31%, i have no idea if thats a cap or something. Its sad to see this class with so many fun options falling behind like that
sorc has definitely been the single-most simultaneously rewarding/frustrating character to play. I've been running an arc lash build so I get huge dopamine hit when I tele into a fat crowd of elites and erase them almost instantly, but also if I don't pop my skills in the precise correct order it is I who is erased, then I have to wait 30 seconds for unstable currents to get off cooldown. honestly though it's been a lot of fun to play.

This is the reason I switched off arc lash and went back to the ice shard/blizz hybrid. You feel like a god when currents is up, but otherwise you feel like you're swinging around a limp noodle 90% of the time imo. Having to be in melee range also was a bummer. I just beat Lillith after switching to the Ice shards build easily enough. That fight would have been a major pain on arc lash.
I have to mention the issues with stagger on bosses no one is mentioning. If frozen was working correctly ice shards enchantment would begin auto firibg a staggered boss which currently does not. The crit damage is not applying to staggered bosses either check the numbers on elites when you freeze vuln immobilize an elite pack and a boss when staggered and you will see a massive issue.
good stuff. our defensives are one of the main problems we have, as we are getting 1 shot by literally everything even with a barrier up. compared to the other classes that can jus tank through high tier NM dungeons, it just feels so unfair and not fun.
I have a level 87 pure cold sorcerer. No skill or items from any other elements as well as enchantments. 100% pure ice and I can do Tier 41 Nightmare dungeons fine. However, I do die against multiple elites with Frozen affixes. The game is entirely based on defeating players using burst damage over crowd controlling them. No other method works to defeat players but that. And the sorcerer does need more survivability without having to sacrifice so many points and skill slots to it.

Lvl 41 nightmares at 87 is bad, and thats the point here. You should be pushing 50s by level 87 but its just not possible and highly dependent on which affixes the dungeon / elites have. I can barely run high 60's at lvl 100 because i just get one shot by everything. The bottom line is the class is fundamentally broken and borderline unplayable. Sorc feels like a afterthought and a unfinished class. Id love to see some love to the class to make it more like the wizard from d3...i loved the hydra build so it wouls be cool to have that back...mixed with the 2 fireball uniques you could make a Hella fun build if hydras also shot fireballs
I just feel like I run out of mana after 3 spells even if I take all the mana regen skills
, been building a chain lightning sorc, was really terrible early because of mana issues but now i got the necessary imprints and i hit lvl 72, avg item lvl 760 and i can clear nightmare 40 dungeons without dying 1’s. Granted the 40 nightmare dungeon takes a bit cause I barely do any damage to the mobs but thats mostly because I don’t have great main hand and off hand weapon. Separately, the chain lightning needs a buff.. it was a major pain in the ass playing this early as mana was constantly 0 and dmg was non existent. It took me 3 paragon boards and almost a full set to come online.
I think the critique for vulnerable is actually bigger than just the sorc. The thing I noticed after making 3 characters is that inevitably I end up trying to stack crit, vulnerable and overpower on every character because those are the stats that matter more than all others. Thats not good game design. Even watching streamers they all tend to try and get 2 of the 3 if not all three on every single character. Blizzard needs to maybe buff them and try to modify skills to emphasize one particular bucket with maybe some double dipping and let players look for other stats. Otherwise the gear for every single character feels the exact same. As for skills themselves I think this issue isnt just the sorc though. A lot of the classes are forced to take multiple defensive skills over all others. Barb players almost always go 3 shouts, sorcs get both armors and frost nova, druids grab bulwark and howl etc etc. The other issue is that each character (with the exception of the rogue) seems to have some super lackluster skills or class bonuses. The arsenal system doesnt feel as rewarding or fun as any class period. Its just sort of there... like thanks for the buff I guess? The necro is just a worse version of the druid in basically every way unless you go a minion build but then, minions. The sorceress has some super cool options but exactly as you said they get to pick one to try and modify their build since firebolt opens up a ton of the skill tree passives for free damage etc.

Agreed. Just trying out new classes will eventually make you realize that they’re very similar: 1. They all need a way to proc Vulnerable, at least one form of CC, and have decent crit chance. 2. They all need at least two defensive skills. 3. They all need some way to eliminate or at least significantly mitigate the mana cost of their damaging skills by the time you get to Torment. It’s just the same skeleton but with a different skin, and yet Blizzard still couldn’t come up with a good UI for the skills and paragon board. Compare D4 to Grim Dawn, which came out in 2016. Not only do its classes focus on mostly passive defensive skills and buffs (at the expense of having only one or two buttons to click most of the time), your character can actually have two classes at once. While it also has unique or sets that define builds, you can definitely make a good character just through the combination of skills alone. And there are a ton of great builds in Grim Dawn. And Grim Dawn’s version of the paragon board, while still daunting enough that most players will inevitably consult a build guide, is still much more user friendly and pleasing to navigate and understand.

I play sorc, I don't need to see improvements to play it in S1 because I'll probably play it anyway. That said, I still experience mana issues with ice shards sometimes, the build seems to be very reliant on mob density. Makes for some dull times waiting for mana if mobs just appear one by one.

Once you hit T30+, Sorc gets a massive nerf where their HP drops to 1.
Some suggestions: 1) Zoom out characters! The sorc is basically a melee class because you're too close. 2) Make increasing mana regeneration a passive every 10 levels, allows more freedom in spamming skills. 3) It's already been said but yes, another enchantment slot. 4) Make a variety of skills useful - Make charged bolts automatically follow creatures, make meteor drop instantly, make firewall cast in an aoe that lines up with creature positions, make the lightning companion skill hang around permanently, make frozen orb grow into a bigger aoe the more creatures it hits. SOOOOOOOOOOO many ways to improve existing skills and who knows maybe create a few new ones! There are so many great questions to ask. Are we supposed to use one element or all 3? We have some nodes that give bonuses for using all of them, but it would be cool if there was the opposite. Something like all other element damage bonuses are reduced to 0% but give you like 20-30% of that to your main element. The fact we almost never really use the Mastery, Conjuration, or Ultimate skills is very telling. We have 4 skill slots used up for defensives, 1 for a core skill, gotta use half our enchantment slots for fire. So really we are all playing different variations of the same build. I'm level 75 trying to play an Ice Spike/Shard hybrid build, but my blizzard aspects are all low rolls and from level 40-50, the highest one is a pathetic 350 damage, so I'm running mostly Ice Shards on bosses and using blizzard mostly for helping freeze things. I think they need a way to level up aspects by maybe sacrificing gear. I don't care how much, make it jump half way between the aspects current level and the legendary being destroyed to do it, id pay it in a heartbeat. Trying to farm a high level high roll blizzard ice spike is just impossible, its all luck.
Btw Ice Shards has aa bug that prevents it from hitting many targets including scorpions, blood bubbles and some small enemies. Needs fixing too.
One thing I find annoying is that most good glyphs scale with dexterity and I don't understand why? Sorc's main stat is Intelligence so why are there no good int glyphs? The rare paragon nodes give 10 int so I can't use those and there are many glyph sockets that require level 15 to get the bonus effect since I'm missing those +10-20 from the rare nodes. Grabbing dex for glyphs is also a bad synergy with the rare paragon nodes as most of them have either Int or will requirements. My first build was a Barb and they have several good Str glyphs so not only am I able to use the +10 from rare nodes, the str nodes I grab around the glyph also increase my base attack.
They should change all conjurations and luck hit procs, including the one from incinerate, to make them all prioritize elite mobs instead of boxes or other objects.
I love mixing and matching elements but then it just doesn’t work well and I get my butt kicked
my main issue is how I spend 90% of my time using Spark or Arc Lash as it's far too easy to OOM as just three casts max of Chain Lightning sees my Mana practically empty and that needs rebalancing hard as you need a degree to understand the Paragon Boards to get something from that making Maxtoll essential and experimenting ourselves pointless
A start would be more barrier generation with longer duration. Ice barrier is great with the bonus barrier when dealing damage to vulnerable, but it only lasts 6 seconds. I just got to nm 47 and enemies are lvl 100+. They melt, but the one shots are very frustrating. I can face tank any nm boss and it dies under 10 seconds, but I can't stand a lot of one shots by ranged mobs. I don't mind the lower damage we do because we can cc and hit many enemies at once. Also there isn't a reason to clear nm 50+ besides glyph leveling, but all of mine are already lvl 15+ with 2 at 21 and I'm lvl 97.
@Tconant1415

The biggest issue with the barriers is aside from the protection passive and icefall legendary node all other sources for barrier generation is determined by BASE life that v cannot be changed no matter what we do aside from increasing our level
sorc used to have 3 enchantments slots, and most skills and their synergy were supposedly designed with 3 enchantments. Now with only 2 enchantments slots render most of the builds feel incomplete or simply just doesn't work anymore.
The Sorc should have never got nerfs in the beta based on a level 25 power level. Chain lightning was dumpstered not just the damage but the way it damages bosses as well That's why sorcerers cannot kill those pillars in the events. Hydro was dumpstered, arc lash was nerfed as well and other skills and nodes were nerfed as well. Sorc also was designed to work with three enchantment slots. And one was taken away during the beta. Without reworking the whole class to work with only two. And now the limitations of having only two are becoming more apparent everyday. Also lastly a lot of the sorcs uniques have nerfs on them when other classes don't have this. You get some type of effect but with a downside which in a lot of cases it's better not to even use the unique because of the downsides.
