Loved this! I did stop Glipizide with my Dr.s ok. After a very successful 90 days on Phentermine, today my Dr. says strictly 90 days only. We can re address after one year! I am very disappointed as I am only halfway to a goal weight. Following your advice, I have tried to put a plan in place, but many many years of being bad is taking time to correct. You also gave us the verbiage to discuss Phentermine such as off label use etc. She was adamant. Today, she agreed to go with Bydurean once a week along with my Metformin. Disappointed and torn as what to do next. Hoping the Bydurean helps with my appetite. My Dr fears it will cause me nausea and not be tolerated. The excitement of getting on the scale in her office today was overshadowed by fear of moving forward without help. I am so grateful that you are posting these vlogs and encouraging us!!! Thanks.

Metformin caused me to violently vomit everyday with nausea all day long. My doctor took me off of that. It was the worst for me. But helps a lot of other people. I’m part of the 6%-25% unfortunately.

Metformin causes mild diarrhea sometimes, but that usually happens only if you eat something that's way too fatty like pork. Otherwise it helps stabilize blood sugar.

I was prescribed glipizide 5mg and 1000 mg metforming . After one month of exercising everyday close to 40 min and a very low carb diet instead of losing I am gaining. Now I see why, glipizide.

Used Bydureon for a good month, made me itch bad, also used Jardiance , had lot of fatigues and pee a lot. Fatigues listed as one of the side effect. Yes, these new drugs are very expensive, $500/month, that's why often insurance don't cover it. Specially gov. insurance. Only cover older, cheaper diabetic drugs.

questions: I am insulin resistant. I see an endocrinologist for hypothyroid disease and due to my bloodwork I had high testosterone and borderline high fasting blood sugars. I had a 3 hr GTT and became hyper insulinemic and my blood sugar dropped to a 40 at the 2 hour mark. they are treating me with metformin for the past 2 months- I am up to 1500 mg per day and now they want me to take Trulicity to lose weight. I am 40 years old and weigh 195 pounds at 5'4" . So basically I am not yet type 2 diabetic but they are treating me as one to hopefully never develop it. would you treat someone like me the same.

Thank you I just started Saxenda I am on day 5 so far. I did use Phentermine a few years ago and lost about 68 lbs. I have gained about 40 of those lbs back. My doc told me about Saxenda.

Thank you for this video. Was very helpful. I was given a 2 week trial packet of Trulicity, which I LOVED... worked, slept better, lost weight, felt clear-minded, wasn't bloated/retaining water anymore, changed my FBG overnight. BUT, I'm PRE D so my insurance company wouldn't cover it. My doctor put me on Metformin.. which is HORRIBLE for me. My appetite shot through the roof, excessive fatigue, sleepiness, feel sluggish and painful like I have the flu 24/7.. and this is after a month and on 500mg once a day. I can't handle Metformin at all, and it's making me gain weight... so.... I'm not sure which of those other, newer drugs my ins company will cover. Wouldn't cover Trulicity because I'm only PRE D. I'm in hell, and I'm taking myself off the Metformin tomorrow at the one month mark. I'd rather have quality of life over a possibly longer one in which I'm feeling sick and miserable and not actually 'living anyway."

I feel your frustration. I'm prediabetic too and was on metformin for about three years with occasional days of diarrhea. I lost six lbs. But as you can read on my post it stopped being good for me because I was in the bathroom everymorning. We are all so different and one med isn't always right for everyone. Hope you find your answer. Don't give up hope, there is something for you and for me.

Ask your Dr about metformin ER if you aren't already using that kind. It helped me, i can only take 500 mg a day but i got real sick on the regular but the ER i can handle

I had the exact same symptoms as you while taking metformin! I was told that it helped with weight loss and I was like it's making me gain and I feel sick all the time! Glad to know it was not just me

Remember people with these drugs especially the GLP-1 Drugs, that the two hour window after eating does not exist. Normally you would check your blood sugar after you eat dinner because two hours would be about the approximate time to empty stomach contents mostly. That does not apply with these the food just sits there so look for higher numbers during that time. My doctor seem to agree with that

It would be helpful to cover some of the serious side effects of these meds, I encourage anyone thinking of starting these meds to research them,

I go over side effects and monitoring in most of the videos. Side effects certainly include rapid heart rate and elevated blood pressure with phentermine. This is why we check people for a nurse visit a week after starting the medication and once a month after that.

layal aoun trulicity deos help and works .it makes u less hungry and fill faster .tummy ache and nausea are bad for first 2 weeks then body gets used to it .keep pepto on hand .and i swear it doesnt even hurt to put on

My husband is and since he started Jardiance he lost over 30 pounds no exercise and eats normal while I have to exercise and starve to loose few pounds, which I gain bk if I eat a bit carb, I love him but so jealous 😳

Did you ever try it? I just started on Farxiga a week ago -- 5 mg per day for the first 2 weeks and then up to 10 mg. I was on Januvia and Metformin for years, but I have been struggling to lose weight while doing calorie counting and intermittent fasting. I told my doctor, and he said that he didn't think Januvia was actually that effective, so he replaced it with Farxiga.

I got script for Victoza but unfortunately It is super expensive so even though monthy would be 37.00 I would be in the donut hole in four months leading to a 500.00 a month bill. I was on 2,000 mg. ER in a divided dose which I changed to after two yrs. on regular. It started giving me diarrhea everyday. This interfered with working at my job. So I'm back to probably going to try Glipizide. Sad medications that could help are sooo expensive.

Also want to say I'm eating an extremely low carb diet, no bread, pasta, flour in foods, no fruit, no starchy veggies. Mostly meat, eggs and greens. Not much fun. But it help my numbers while I find an answer.

Hi, I will try to work it in, but metformin should be independent of thyroid issues for the most part. It works well for type 2 diabetes and insulin resistance. The thyroid being brought under control should be a somewhat separate issue. Do you have a specific question in regard to the relationship between the two?

If u stop overdosing on sugars & starches your weight normalizes. At some point the focus must turn to carbohydrate addiction.

My mom has hypothyroidism and tahicardia, she's taking bisoprolol and tiroxin for her health issues, also she had depression problems and anxiety so she got bromazepam to take since she started with those medications, she gained a lot of weight. Please, do you have any advice, she struggle to lose weight...

+Naitsirk Firedi Hi she really needs to review all of this with her doctor. some of her medications may be contributing to the weight gain, but patients who are depressed often eat for comfort. I would encourage you to have her talk to her doctor about whether she is able to do any type of supervised exercise program. That would help her mood and her energy. Getting her to see a counselor to try to get away from any comfort eating would also be helpful for her. Calcium channel blockers are used often to control heart rate, although bisoprolol is a good choice. Likewise wellbutrin is a good antidepressant medicine when people are trying to lose weight. ultimately she needs to go over all of this with her own doctor.

Did it help you lose weight? I just started on it a week ago after telling my doctor that I was having a hard time losing weight. I was on Januvia and Metformin, and he replaced the Januvia with Farxiga.
