DHARMAVATHI Dharmavati is a rāgam in Carnatic music (musical scale of South Indian classical music). It is the 59th Melakarta rāgam in the 72 melakarta rāgam system of Carnatic music. It is called Dhaamavati in Muthuswami Dikshitar school of Carnatic music. Madhuvanti is the nearest Hindustani music scale to Dharmavati.
It is the 5th rāgam in the 10th chakra Disi.

எப்படி சார் முக்கியமான பாடலை கோட்டை விட்டீர்கள்? தர்மவதி ராகம் என்றால் நமக்கு உடனே நினைவுக்கு வருவது நந்தா என் நிலா சுவாமி தட்சிணாமூர்த்தி அவர்கள் இசையில் பாலு சார் பாடிய பாடல். திரையிசை பாடலில் தர்மவதி ராகத்தின் மிக பெரிய அடையாளம் இந்த நந்தா என் நிலா பாடல். எப்படி விட்டு போனது என்று தெரியவில்லை.

It is very funny that this program is conducted in English when they are singing mostly Thamizh film songs. These days it has become such a curse that they are all speaking in English when it really doesn’t call for it. I am speaking from the US and I feel people in India are unnecessarily showing off. Infact they should proudly speak only in Thamizh in these kind of programmes. The two men should be replaced.
