I suppose this means that eventually we'll be seeing a Metalrow too. That looks like a splendid tool Tom, use it in good health mate. God bless you all there.

This is pretty cool looking saw. I don't do any metal construction or welding, but I'll be glad to watch you pick up some stuff in the alley on trash day and make some cool stuff, just don't forget us wood workers and next time, be sure to remind Woodrow to wear his safety glasses.

Very good saw I lost a finger to one of these and I gotta say it’s a very efficient tool It cut my finger clean off it cut it so fast I didn’t really feel it plus there was minimal bleeding which it’s great who likes a mess I know I don’t but overall I rate the Dewalt chopsaw 9/10 because it’s not very effective at cutting propylene twine PS: Don’t cut twine with it

Dewalt has a slightly different front finger on the guard now. The first saw I got I had to return because it kept getting stuck in the groove for the blade. Not sure why they had to mess with it but i would have preferred the display model

Any tips on cutting flat steel? I have some E track I was cutting today. The first couple cuts were OK. The last one wouldn't cut. Made a groove but wouldn't cut through. Put a new blade on, 15 minutes later, still nothing. Same saw as yours. Hope you can help. Thanks

Hey man I need to cut two things I need to cut wood for a shed project and I also need to cut a trailer coupler witch is 1/4 thick I'd like to buy a saw that can handle wood and thick hard metal my budget is a big deal so I'd like to know what saw should I buy to cut metal and 2x4s ? I don't mind buying multiple blades and 1 saw I want a saw that will cut the metal perfectly.

The manual doesnt mention using a standard saw blade. I think this is strictly for metal. There is a contact number for dewalt if you want to call them. Please call 1-800-4-DEWALT (1-800-433-9258) for more information.

What's the difference between a grinding wheel and a toothed saw blade?
@AlleyPicked

Saw toothed blades can be used for wood & light metal but for thick stuff you'll want to use a grinding wheel type blade.

can you change the blade to cut wood?
@fatboizeelan6899

Technically yes. But this saw runs at a different rpm to wood chop saws, so you would run the risk of getting rough finishes on the end of the wood.

Ive had this saw for years and its absolute trash. Blades gum up and just stop cutting and when they do cut the blade wanders so much the part is unuseble. I just use a grinder or sawzall or band saw to make my cuts. Forget about an angle cut. Im not some dumb kid either. Ive been a toolmaker weldor fabricator for 20 years. Dont waste a single penny on this saw if you intend it to make straight and accurate cuts for welding. Get a bandsaw
