This is back at $499 online, but I just found one for $299 on the "reduced" shelf at my local HD. Picked one up! Killer man! Thanks!

Hey all - It's 11/25/17 and I was just in my local Home Depot which has a 5 tool combo kit for $299. It's model DCK520D1M1 and differs from the one I reviewed in that it comes with 1-4.0 aH battery (better for the saws) and 1-2.0aH battery. It's a great deal!

Thanks for the great review! I just ordered this for $299 CAD from Home Depot. For someone doing light construction around the house I couldn't justify spending more than 2x the price on the brushless set.

I agree and the performance is equally as good as the brushless set in my opinion. For the price the brushed set is perfect for around the house. I use it all the time and have no regrets. Enjoy!

Hey All - it’s 6/23/18 and Home Depot has this 5 tool kit on sale again for $299. It’s gotten even better... it comes with 1 - 2aH battery and 1-4 aH battery which will work better with the saws. The model is DCK520D1M1... check your local store or online for availability. It’s on sale for July 4 promotions. Awesome!

Man! The unpacking is exactly what I wanted to see!! Lol, no joke though, I wanted to see how the factory stacks the tools into the bag. I have this kit and didn't pay attention to how they came out, I was too excited!! So now I'm trying to figure out the most efficient way to put them back in because I have an oscillating tool to go with it now... I can't get the bag to zip up with it. If I figure out a way, I'll let you know lol.

Ha! This is a first, but your request makes total sense. If only they made the bags just a little bigger and with double zippers to reduce strain. Thanks for the feedback.

I figured out a way, I tried a few dozen different ways, they only work one way to get it to zip up!! The 6-1/2 goes in first with the motor sticking up laying on it's blade side. The drills go on top of eachother at the other end then, the sawzall lays on top with the handle on the drills and the motor/black rubber end across the saw handle. Then my extra tool the XR oscillating tool lays across the other side then, squeeze the batteries, charger, extra battery and accessories between all the spaces you can find... The flash light lays right on top of everything in it's straight position.

I just ordered the 10 piece set from Amazon for $529. It has all those tools plus, circular grinder, Bluetooth speaker, vacuum, blower and brushless oscillating tool. What a deal!

WOW! That's a great deal! What batteries did it come with? I'm finding it hard not to buy a lot of tools with all the Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals. I noticed the tool kit in my video is on sale at Lowe's now for $279 through 12/2.

@@BruceAlanR They just come with two 3aH batteries. I was just at Home Depot and saw a 6 piece Dewalt tool kit with tool box for $499. All brushless: drill, impact driver, impact wrench, circular saw, oscillating tool and grinder. Also comes with two 4 AH batteries. I'm tempted to return the 10 piece and getting the brushless tools instead....hmm. I think I can justify not having the bt speakers, vacuum, blower, light and reciprocating saw. Home Depot has the 10 piece online for $529 today too. Special Buy of the Day has some great offerings. I love my brushless tools too (especially the 7 1/2”flexVolt advantage circular saw. For the weekend warrior brushless may not make a huge difference, but if you use tools everyday, there are definitely advantages (longevity, run time, etc.)

@@BruceAlanR I ended up getting the brushless 6 tool kit last night and also picked up flexvolt recip saw and flexvolt drill to complement the kit! HD has a special that if you buy a stand alone flexvolt tool, you get free 6aH fv battery and charger ($228 value).

Thanks for not showing us the unboxing. I also like how quickly you got into the review. Thanks. I picked up a 6 piece on Amazon for 299. Can't wait to check it out. My first real set.

All the different saws can be bought as a stand alone. just check specs closely !!!

man great review i just bought the 6 tool kit yesterday at lowes for 399.00 only difference was i got a bluetooth speaker so i paid 100.00 for the speaker grrrrr lol

Be advised Dec Walt makes THREE different 6 1/2" saws that all look alike but obviously have different specs !!! DCS390 is the basic one, and then the DCS191B That has the Cast Magnesium base, and the 5150 RPM and the DCS393B that has the stamped steel base and I have seen 2 specs on the RPM 5150 and 5250, which is correct ??? Who knows. The DCS393B seems to come in a lot of the kits. which by the way vary all over the place mainly in the AH ratings of the Batteries !!!! Check VERY closely ALL the specs so you are not surprised.

@@BruceAlanR Yep !!! Check the specs before you buy and know what you are buying !!! Many times a saw is a good performer, but they make a cheaper version and you usually find them it the "Special Priced" sale kits !!!

Sorry for not sharing a link. I don’t participate in any affiliate programs. I recommend googling “DeWalt 5 tool combo kit” to compare prices. The kits are a good deal when they’re on sale, but at full price not so much. There are some good deals on 7 and 10 tool kits right now, so look for those too. The best prices are usually at www.homedepot.com, www.lowes.com, and Amazon. I prefer buying tools at Home Depot and Lowe’s because I can return the products to the store should I decide i don’t like them or there’s an issue.

What mean brush or brushless models?

The tools included in the combo kit all have brushed motors. Without getting into the engineering of motors, the easiest way to put it is that the motors of power tools traditionally had brushed motors (motors with brushes around the commutator). Now, many tools have brushless motors which provide more efficient operation (more torque per watt), increased reliability, reduced noise during operation, longer life (they’re less susceptible to wear), and sparks won’t fly out of the sides, to name a few. Tools with brushless motors cost more as a result. Thanks for the question.

Hi Jamila- I got this at my local Home Depot when it was on sale. Others have found similar combo kits on Amazon. I recommend trying to find it on sale as that’s when it’s the best value. Good luck!
