Not a psychologist but am a researcher who's worked in social and behavioral health for a number of years. Reason why NYAC hasnt cancelled the fight is that you cant simply cancel a fight because somebody has a mental diagonosis or is having mental health issues. That can be a reason for a discrimination lawsuit. It has to be shown conclusively that his mental health issues are negatively impacting his training and/or his fight. Remember what Denzel said, its not what you know its what you can prove. There are plenty of people with bipolar and personality disorders who function at their jobs, its not different in the fight game. Im pretty sure Tony Ferguson had same issues throughout his career. So i think at the end of the day, they couldn't find any smoking gun and wanna avoid the lawsuits.

Spoken like someone who doesn't know that Boxing is the most corrupt sport hands down. It's always been controlled by shady back rom deals and palms being greased. They could care less about Ryan's mental state. They didn't cancel the fight because it's it would be lost revenue and refunds owed for many parties involved. Promoters, hotels and restaurants, even flight reservations are affected drastically. It's easier to ignore the behavior and let the fight happen. I agree with the manic episode. He quickly retired due to anxiety. The Tank loss and DeLahoya abandoning him after the loss was the turning point. Ever since he's been the reincarnation of Mike Tyson and Roberto Duran. 😀He's crashing out quick similar to Tyson and Errol Spence right before our eyes.

He brought Devin into his gym and trained him....only for his Dad to take him out of there to start his own promotional company...then The Haneys began disrespecting Floyd...and Tank. Floyd will show them who the real money man is. I find it odd that Ryan has been seen with Floyd. He semi retired years ago because of anxiety. He's always dealt with mental health issues. The Tank loss and DeLahoya abandoning him after the Tank loss triggered him. He's clearly battling demons very similar to how Conor McGregor crashed out after earning millions but being humiliated publicly. It's a combination of a damaged Ego and not having the discipline to resist things that cause pleasure. Remember Haney even predicted he wouldnt make weight.

Clay was a Nut job when he fought Liston, Mike Tyson said crazy stuff for years and it was OK. But for now we see guys at B, C level fighters going at it. Haney more of the studious of the two, and like Mayorga was Garcia seems to be on a strange edge as of late. If I could train either I would want Haney. Garcia would frustrate you because he seems to never have learned high level stuff as simple as a great jab, tucked in chin, and not keeping yourself squared up. PPV might be the victim in this one. The jab will win this one for a while,,, Hope Ryan does not melt down like Oliver McCall did that horrible night . B level vs C level. Haney wins.

I think between Garcias speed, power, unpredictability, and Haneys lack of power, inability to finish fights, and his suspect chin. It’s closer to a 50/50 fight. $100 to win $700 for a Garcia KO/TKO might be worth it
