Anime of the Devilman is for child, aired in 1972 or 73 time frame here in Japan. I saw that in real time manner. I recommend you to read the comic (manga) of the Devilman. Shocking dark story. This is one of the best creation of Nagai Go. Maybe(?) some modification must be done in foreign country like U.S. Thru some people's eye, it blames/insults Christianity I heard.

I'm Christian, but I don't see how it insults Christianity. The "devil" in pop culture actually derives from paganism. I don't know how good the dubs are, but I agree with you that the Japanese version is good!
