The Dione uses 17 drivers and a lot of spatial processing and real-time EQ to achieve a 5.1.2-channel configuration. Drivers bounced off the ceiling and walls create the feeling of surround sound, including overhead effects from Dolby Atmos soundtracks. What we found most impressive, however, was the amount of bass this slim sound bar can produce.
It's great for music, too. You can stream using Bluetooth, and also over Wi-Fi or UPnP using the Devialet app. Apple users can stream using AirPlay 2, and no matter how you stream, a built-in DAC makes everything sound its best.
The unique little ball in the center isn't just there to look cool (which it does!) - it's a pretty smart little center speaker that you can rotate if you mount the Dione on the wall.

We believe that the best model always varies from person to person as that is dependent on their preferences and application. To get started, what are your goals for the sound? What is the layout of the room including dimensions?
No dts? And does it sound more powerful than the sennheiser ambeo max

This Devialet Dione soundbar does not support any of the DTS formats. It does play louder and sound more powerful than the Sennheiser Ambeo Max model

They are both fantastic soundbars that deliver very comparable audio performance. The Devialet Dione is slightly lower profile, in terms of height, and it provides a little stronger bass response. But the Sennheiser AMBEO has a dedicated subwoofer output to add your own separate powered sub, which the Dione lacks.

Ambeo is a lot better than the Dione.
Great job and I would love to get that but it doesn’t have a subwoofer out. 😎👍

Some of these newer bars don't need one. Heck my Beosound Stage from 2 years ago has almost too much bass at times, and it doesn't have a subwoofer out either.

There’s no replacement for displacement…. An external subwoofer is needed!

The Dione does produce impressive bass, but yes, if you prefer very strong, deep bass, a separate powered sub is always best. You don’t need to spend more money for a subwoofer
I'm very disappointed about the dione! I returned it to the store after 2 weeks due to the bass issues. It's a shame that as a user you can't adjust anything with regard to the volumes, including the bass and center channel volume. The bass level suppresses the center channel and all sounds like one big bass mass! Not to mention the problem that the volume is very low on streaming services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Disney+ I had to turn the volume up to almost level "80/85" for a bit of volume in a 30 square meters room, really terrible! The store I bought it from was experiencing the same issues regarding the weak volume on streaming services. Regarding the Atmos sound/effect, it is also very disappointing and not really noticeable. DEVIALET! FIX THIS! 😬
