    Your statement about those who may not be hardcore development followers hits home. I am 100% stoked about this game and love popping in to see what's new, but don't possess the dedication to be on the forums all the time or tuned in to every live stream. However, I do love your dedication, to producing the type of mmorpg we've all been waiting for as well as your dedication to your peers in the gaming community. Keep up the great work!

    Amazing to see month after month the dedication and work the Studio is putting on this game. Steven doing the month stream even when sick is a great sign of leadership and commitment. Love to see it.

    As long as he doesn't expect the same for his employees, i guess i dont mind it. Unfortunately as an employee this also means that you can expect him to show up to work or events sick, even if you arent. Caveat here is that this is a startup so it is i guess within expectations to go beyond the 8-5 because making it work takes priority.

    @@shura9449 as I said, I get it and in this case it totally his decision and working from home is not a hazard to make others sick. But it definitely sends a message if the person that is leading doesn't prioritize health above all.

    So glad to see this game making progress. Can’t wait to play Alpha 2. Happy to see my old clan leader create his own games, never would have though Sharif would have done all of this when we’re kids running around hunter’s village fighting BigBadWolf, little pigs and all of invincible.     This environment reminds me a little of Rift/Warhammer Online. I loved the dark themes of Rift when it was still Trions baby! Pretty stoked about this!

    Alpha two isn't immediately around the corner...that's totally fine. Setting true milestones and realistic goals are more important than wag (wild-ass guess) time stamping future dates then failing to deliver. Great job devs, we're on this journey with you.

    You've got my support! Get it right. As long as you have the money to keep developing, keep developing. Don't set dates that you might have to break, better to not set them. (Unless you're sure.)

    The dynamic environment is so good, you guys are doing an amazing job! Also I love that you guys changed the idle stance of the big sword, it looks much more natural on the shoulder. BTW this is a very minor complaint I have had for years about the player character models. Although their quality has gotten much better over the years, there's one thing that never changed and it kinda bugs/distracts me a lot when watching these updates, and that is the proportion of the lower and upper body. The legs always look so short and small compared to the upper body of the characters. I've noticed it in all races shown so far but specially in the humans and elves, I feel like if they were a bit bigger the characters would look much more balanced/aesthetic.

    I'm pretty sure the player model can be customized in the character creator, but i do agree that the default model should be balanced/aesthetic.

    I really like the mentality that your character just people in the world similar to a good dnd/pathfinder campaign. I love that TTRPGs are a big influence!

    Character art looks amazing as always. You always manage to both create designs that are foreign, while still being grounded in its distinct own believable and natural aesthetic. You managed to do that with your Goblins, your Minotaurs and also did so with the Dwarf lady here. It really adds to a universe when things don't just look alien for the sake of looking alien. You can feel that you build cultures the things we see are grounded in.

    Haha that happened to my dad at a bowling alley! Except they had a low drop down ceiling and he took out several ceiling tiles that fell onto other lanes. It was a mess.

    Guys, i hope you will read this comment. Each month when we get close to the end of the month i think "in few days there will be a new ashes video". I think it's great that you do this monthly updates and that people can see how the game gradually comes to life. As guy in hes 30's who discovered MMO's in high school and spent nights farming in Lineage2, i tell i wish i could be back in school when this will launch so i can play it for good. I will still give it a try and will play it for time to time. Great work, can't wait for the next video!

    i have a question about the summoner summons will all summoners get the same aesthetic looks/model for their summons or is it planned that for example dunir summons are like the floating armors from the preview and for example Py'rai summons more nature based? I think animations could be the same like on all classes but it would give an huge immersion if your summon represent your race

    The game looks good. Outside of a few lighting passes and color correcting a bit in the shadowed areas which looking at times to be a bit to purple with the red corruption making it hard on the eyes it looks amazing. The hoarder/mimic monster animations looked great. I would like to see night 10-15% darker but what you did when you went in the tower really gave you that creepy Diablo feal. The blood streaking down walls and dripping from the huge statues was nice. Love how you set the quests up in the UI and in chapters. The fact that there could be multiple server endings that impact your server is great. I really like the fact that you will be introducing gatherables during the event that can be used in rare potions and crafting. It will make getting these important during the event and cause more people to venture into the area to accomplish other things while questing. The replay ability of the content is huge. It took GW2 a long time to bring back the fall of Lions Gate content. I look forward to seeing and experiencing the wide diversity of monsters and unique combat and abilities in the game. From what I am seeing from the dragons and other mobs it makes for a fun game when every mob is not a cut and paste from everything from lv10 like it was in New World when it came out. Having variety and having certain monsters and gatherables show up only during specific seasons keeps the gaming areas fresh and fun.

    Hello there! I hope this message finds you all in good spirits. Firstly, I want to express my admiration for the exceptional work you all are doing. I have been following your development updates for years and I must say, your progress is truly commendable! I find myself eagerly anticipating each live stream, and I've even been known to sneak in some viewing during work hours because I am captivated by the stunning environment and the intricate details of your systems. One of my all-time favorite streams has been the demonstration of your weather change system. I have watched that video countless times, as I am mesmerized by how the environment transforms and the impeccable sound design. With that in mind, I have a question or rather a request for you. Would it be possible for you to create a video that takes viewers on a journey through the "River Lands" in a similar manner as the stream, but without any commentary? I would love to simply observe the weather changes and listen to the immersive sounds without any distractions. The longer the video, the better! I can provide some bullet points, if you agree, that would make the viewing experience even more enjoyable. I want to assure you that I am not expecting or requesting any content spoilers, as I fully respect your creative process and the element of surprise in your game. I believe many others would also appreciate such a video, and I am truly excited at the prospect of having a video of your captivating characters peacefully enjoying the "River Lands" by walking, running, swimming, or even just sitting by the river as a background for my viewing pleasure, without any monster fighting as a background for my viewing pleasure.     Will players immediately know what type of Node they are in or will they have to look for landmarks. In the case of multiple servers, are Nodes randomized?

    33:30 Did some small math and the city of Sacramento in California (population of 524,940 thousand) averaged about 8,399,040 cups of potential blood, New York (population of 8.8 million) averaged 140,800,000 cups, and Austin Texas (population 964,100) has rough average of 15,425,600 cups. There is about a gallon of blood in every person, 16 cups to a gallon and from there used a calculator... The EPA estimates that the standard shower heads use 2.5 gallons of water per minute. Of course we aren't accounting for liquid pressure. HOWEVER that is a bloody shower for 146,667 (kind of an ominous number) minutes or 2,444 1/2 hours or roughly 102 days if you go by the city of New York; if it rained that amount it sounds like one horrific/gross day. Figured this out and heavily disturbed by the amount, but that is what I get for being curious. So overall depends on the city I guess...

    Feedback on combat : the speed of the swings feel super fast and jerky and do not at all feel gritty or realistic. I recommend more realistic arm swings and impactful blows, especially when wielding a heavy warhammer (you can't slice left and right at lightning speed, as if through butter too, with such a heavy hammer). And, NO, commentators should not presume I am asking for very slow swings or gameplay: not at all, but what we saw here were super fast slices back and forth that automatically made me see a computer animation rather than focusing on the content (broke my suspension of disbelief because swings were very twitchy).

    In my own opinion, the Environmental team had done an amazing task in detailing such an amazing bioms in high detail fidelity. I would like also suggesting people behind skillset, animation, vfx effects that they should inspire from other mmorpgs such as Night Crows, Legend of Ymir, Throne and Liberty regarding implementation of skills effects...just saying that Unreal Engine 5.2 can do better...just need the right skillset..

    The fact that at time index 1:02:00, Seven was honest about the purpose and feel of AOC and said that it might not be for everyone due to the inherent in-world politics is the primary reason I am so excited for this game!!! I don't want a game for everyone; I want one for ME. My game is going to be AoC! Thank you, Steven!

    Yeah. I always loved World PvP and factions in WoW. Sure sometimes you got gank-camped, but somehow it also created exitement trying to escape and getting arch enemies here and there. It won't be for everyone though, but that's why you have some PvP servers were PvP was always turned on and just pure PVE servers as well.

    This seems so cool! The only thing i am really worried about these story arc bosses or these dungeon bosses and dungeons (cause all of em are open) is that they are going to be complete zerg fests and in worst cases the most numerical guilds will keep farming the bosses and players who either do not belong into a guild or dont have big friend group are going to get locked out in a way or the bosses get killed in under 10 seconds. I really hope they can somehow figure this out so stuff does not turn like that :)

    In the ranger combat showcase, the tower was glowing more and had 3 spires. Is that because environments will continually change as story arcs progress? Or was it just a design change for the tower? Thanks! This area looks sick

    28:23 I hope the camera zoom in doesn't give us a back-of-the-head view later on. :| As for the zone, at first I thought "this is too much" but then remembered how most MMOs are super watered down in terms of environment, and that an extreme area can be really cool so long as it's not literally too much. All that said, it's too much for a regular zone, but is probably just earie/creepy enough for a special/dangerous zone. Really like it in that regard. I do feel like massively wide-open areas indoors kinda detract from the purpose of being indoors. Not that it should be claustrophobic, but ultimately it makes the world seem smaller...oddly enough. For example, there are MANY games that feel 10x bigger simply due to how they connect things via small rooms, hallways, stairs, elevators, etc... not saying those *need* to be there, but if everywhere is a big wide-open area, my personal curiosity does not get piqued as much. I want to see what's behind a corner. I want to see what's in the next room. I want to see how far down/up I can go. When you have one HUGE indoor/outdoor area only, those situations rarely get to occur. Usually I echo my posts here on the forums, but may not this time. It looks good enough, and I am not as invested as many of the other people following the game so it is what it is.

    I love this entire game! I will say I always did love the color availability in WOW classic even though it's a little cartoony. I really hope there is a way to add our own colors to our armor and clothing. I like the dark and realness of the world. Just hope we can add some color to our characters themselves. Anyways great work and I'll be playing WOW classic till Ashes is released. Once it's out I will only be playing Ashes.

    @@AshesofCreation Hello, it would be very interesting if you could explore more about the navigation choices and windows that will be available in the future in your videos. Additionally, it would be great to see more about wireframes and how you plan to diagram different stages of the experience, such as the skill bar and character creation. Lastly, it would be amazing to see proposals for screens that could be more "exclusive" to Ashes, since inventory is something very common and similar among MMOs. It would be interesting to see something with more creative freedom from the UX design perspective, like a bestiary or a tome of achievements and exploration. Thank you!

    I’m not that big on pvp, but I love pve/rpg. Something I love to this day is dungeon crawling or overworld exploring. Especially in Skyrim/oblivion. I really hope that ashes will populate the over world with soloable events at the least, with mini quests such as clear out this bandit camp and they have loot laying around. It’s not just on loot tables. It’s actually on a table lol. The immersion would be amazing if I had a reason to explore the world other than just predefined quest or crafting. I’m craving rpg elements like hunting pirates off the coast and you can find there base and treasures, I’m craving caves and dungeons that have loot i can find like you do the Sandles. Events would solve the issue of static overworld clutter, just spawn in the event/loot/quest at random and smart locations that it’s hand placed.

    Need more hammer 'thunk'. Weighted weapons like hammers & maces should have some staggering ability and heft to them. They should be good against armor and not be able to be swung around like a sword. Every hit should have a thunk.

    As a very casual player, I worry that the time gated events will prevent me from being able to experience the story arcs fully. Will they be cycled through a period of hours? Days? Weeks? If I could only play one day a week, the same day each week- would I be able to progress through all of the content?

    The world changing according to the world story is great. However, does everyone get to enjoy the cool transformation effects like the tower explosion on their screen? Or only whoever was online and near that tower at that exact moment. The same goes for city upgrades and house upgrades will we miss it :(

    You will miss it yes. It’s not intended as a thing everyone sees. However if a storyline comes back around you might. As for towns it’s the same thing. The chances of you seeing it aren’t high. But as nodes get developed and destroyed you might!

    It would be cool for raining blood and even small hail storm in winter time and such things. each enviromental effect has blood in it near the area and especially there. Just a thought.

    We have no plans for things like "group finder," and our team's general mindset is groups should form more organically. Instead of queuing for dungeons, we believe server communities are more healthy when players do things like actually talk to each other. 😎

    I know that most people are upset with how long this game is taking to develop, but I am on the complete opposite of that take. I am so happy that a studio is not trying to rush a game like most do in today's world. I am beyond excited for this game and will wait as long as it needs for the game to be complete and I am beyond happy with the development and response to feedback this studio has shown thus far.     This showcase was incredible, you guys are making such amazing progress with the game each month. I always tune in to watch the livestreams and videos about said livestreams every month. So much that people have to say on the game, so much to look forward to. I still really hope that you guys keep improving on the combat, keep fleshing it out, making the animations better, the 'feel' more smooth. Things still look stiff in areas, clunky. Character movement in general could use some touching up, it's very strange when characters move from one direction to the other, when they turn from side to side or completely around. Walking, running, etc. I hope you'll keep working on improvements to make the combat even better and take notes from MMOs like Black Desert Online for it's combat fluidity, I know you're not going for that specific 'style' of combat, but their animations are top notch. Character movement both in and out of combat, different attack animations depending on directional input, all important things. I truly hope you guys will keep working on the combat to improve it, make it look and feel even better. I know you show us these things in stages so I really look forward to thinking back on these first sneak peeks at class kits and animations, and comparing them to the final finished product. I really hope it will be truly amazing. So much about the game excites me, this is literally the one MMO I am dying to play, that I'm so excited to get my hands on. I just really worry that when I finally do I'll be disappointed when the combat feels so clunky and janky despite the animations looking great. If anything I think this is one of the most major things to get right, since that is what you will be doing in an MMO a fair bit. Fighting monsters, other players, doing dungeons. I want to love every aspect of this game, so please take the time you need to make EVERYTHING about the game perfect and beautiful, combat especially. I believe in you guys, keep up the amazing work.

    @@AshesofCreation I know you guys are all working very hard to make this game great, and I know that takes time. Looking at things as they are now are only the beginnings of the systems showed. The combat, the animations. I know you guys are still working on refining things, making more classes, making the combat better, so on. I know there's so much more that I'm excited for with Ashes but I'm just personally eager to one day be wowed by the end result of all the hard work for the combat. We've seen only a few class skills as little tastes but I also can't wait to see the weapon skills and how they function. It excites me that we don't have to use 'just our class skills' which make our weapons basically just stat sticks. Having them actually have meaning is so exciting for me. Since I love to mix and match playstyles. A bit of ranged, melee, so on.

    I like the idea of the mage tower explosion but it needs more work on the fx of the explosion. Maybe make it rock the camera a bit, like it's rumble can be felt across the map. I hope those muttin chops on a female dwarf are optional lol Game is looking awesome. Every update just keeps getting better.

    Question: Within the sky there is always a big focus on the moon, id presume this is apart of lore. But what i wanna know is what does this affect have on the world, being destroyed, does this affect the gravity of the world and the waves etc, and is this planned to change based on the world and story changing etc. Will this have a big impact on the water gameplay?

    I like what he said about player friction. This guy just keep saying the right things. Although I think one thing wow vanilla did good was factions the fact you couldnt understand what the other faction said. Unless you are a psychopath you dont really want to hear what your victim have to say when you kill him. This could create a very toxic environment.

    Looks Good, but the mobs does not react in a impactfull way when they are hit. Would be really nice if they react differently depending what attack they are being hit by, different sounds and animations. This would give more a satisfactionary feel in the combat. Also the animations when the mobs dies should be more varied and impactful

    The issue current issue with daily/weekly time gates for dungeons/raids in MMOs is terrible. Especially when a MMO grows over time, the stuff you do becomes really more of a job rather than a game that you enjoy. Mobile games (imo) sorted this issue with the multiple-event system, a lot of successful ones have adopted. Having many events at each point, yet they are all different, however small, makes the game much more enjoyable and gives you a reason to keep playing each day, while not making it feel insanely redundant. Really hope AoC would like deeper into this and find maybe even a better solution.

    Unrelated but, I know you guys have been on the fence about whether to add stamina or not and I believe I have thought of a unique way to have stamina in the game. Instead of stamina as in almost all games nowadays being a short-term limiting factor what about it being a Long-term limiting factor? for example, instead of your stamina bar going down multiple times per fight what about it being slowly taken down over hours in the field. You can make it so that stamina recovers using a rest animation for long periods of time as a stop-gap method in the field but it will be barely effective unless one sits for a hour or two resting. The main method of recovering stamina can be going to nodes and renting inn rooms where stamina regen is really fast as instead of resting for 2 hours somewhere to recover your stamina bar you can rest for 15 minutes in a inn room. You can also use the environment to limit player adventurer time. Under most circumstances it would say take the player stamina bar 12 hours to go down to near-empty. but in a story/event area the stamina drain is much more taking only 8 or so hours for the entire bar to go down. This can be a excellent limiting factor on player grinding as instead of a guild or group monopolizing an entire area an entire day they at some point must go home to a node to recover, where another group can enter the area. There can also be items that increase the recovery rate of stamina but I feel as though items that directly replenish stamina should not exist or if they do are high-end potions crafted by masters or something..
