This is my most watched movie. I appreciated Dilip Kumar while he was alive. But this movie is a classic team work where everyone performed well. A real masterpiece.

And we lost both Devdas & Paro. Dilip kumar was such a great actor. So is Suchitra Sen mam. She was so beautiful & so good at acting. Gosh!! It's an extreme loss for indian film industry. Hope they rest in peace

Not true. 2002 Devdas is magical

Saw this movie more than 100 times. What a performance! What a direction! WOW! Epitome of excellence! Wijayantimala ji is still with us. God bless her heart. All other artists left void that can not be filled. I am watching it again today. Dilip Kumar truly did justice with the title role.

Outstanding Performance.

As a serious movie watcher, and a drunk, the accuracy in the first 10 mins of this movie's direction between Dev & Paro/his father relationship is outstanding. Also Dharamda's concern of Dev, and Paro lying for him is outstanding. Failure of these relationships is what makes Dev an alcoholic later on. This is outstanding, and it's just the first 10 mins.

इस मूवी का एक एक मिनट बहुत भारी है । ऐसी कलाकारी के लिए सदियां लग जाएंगी । नोवेल से मेल खाती इस दर्दनाक पिक्चर ने , न जाने कितने बिछड़े हुए आशिकों के मुर्दा मन मस्तिष्क को दुबारा जिंदा कर दिया होगा । पहले नोवेल पढ़ें तब इसको देखें । तीन के तीनों और साइड एक्टर्स सभी के सौ प्रतिशत लगने के साथ साथ फिल्मांकन भी लाजवाब था । A grand saga of timeless love .... बचपन में अक्षय , srk और गोविंदा जचते थे , लेकिन जब होश आया तो दिलीप कुमार , सुचित्रा सेन VM जैसों की पिक्चर ही रास आती है । मूवी में कलाकारी होनी चाहिए, रंगों से फर्क नहीं पड़ता ।

This Devdas movie... In the best race of indian film industry and in hollywood.... It damaged all record of hollywood.... So many Oscar awards winner .... Big Salute to Bimal Roy and team

One of the best talky movies indian cinema has ever produced.. why we are over rating Oscars. Best critics are spectators who applauded it for the decades.

Today , really our 'Devdas' is no more but that's only physically . Mentally , he is still alive & his legacy will always remained enlightened & what he has done , that can never ever be surpassed by a second actor . He was my most favourite of all actors . Besides , he was a really very humble human being though some people may stand against this fact for some wrong reason . So many artists went but tears flowed down from my eyes only when Dilip Kumar sahab went away , that too for quite few days . Never a day went after that without remembering Dilip Kumar sahab . He was the Legend of Legends . May his soul rests in peace ! Bye Dilip sahab . You will always remain my most most favourite actor . 😢😭🥺💐🙏🤲

Cried in last 10 minutes...mitwa. Hats off to Dilip sahab, Actresses and filmmaker.

Truly amazing piece of work from Dilip Kumar sahab you are an institution. Natural acting with no overacting., expressions and dialogue delivery is amazing🏆👍

This film is an adoption of a masterpiece novel "Debdas" written by Sarat Chandra Chatterjee, a great bengali novelist.

Triangular love amongst Dilip Kumar, Vyjayntimala and Suchitra Sen. Superb acting of the trio. Jise too qubool karle wo ada kahan se laun There dil ko Jo lubhaye wo sada Kahan se laun One of the most beautiful songs ever sung by Lata jee. Lyric of Sahir is finely tuned into music by S D Burman

দিলিপ কুমারের অভিনয় দেখে আমি হতবাক হয়ে গেছি। আমার কাছে পুরো অভিনয়টাই বাস্তবের মতো মনে হয়েছে। সূতিত্রা সেনের অভিনয় কোনো অংশে কম নয়। ছবির পরিচালককে ধন্যবাদ দিতে হয় এতো সুন্দর ভাবে ছবিটা তৈরি করার জন্য। সত্যিকারের প্রথম ভালোবাসার মানুষটা প্রতিটা মানুষের মনের মাঝে দাগ হয়ে বিঁধে থাকে। যাকে কিনা কখনো ভুলা যায়না।

Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay's novel "Devdas" though 6 movies have been made so far in Bangladesh and India. But to tell the truth, I think the movie of Bulbul Ahmed and Kabri Madam of Bangladesh is the best for me. Hope those who come to see Devdas must watch the movie Devdas starring Bulbul Ahmed in Bangladesh.

With all due respect too to the actors before, I fell in love with Indian cinema because of SRK and Aish Devdas in 2002 and I love the way they act. It never fails to make me cry everytime I watch it and I have watched it more than 10x already. But thanks for this, the old version has a different take too and it is a good classic.

Im50 years old. In 1984 , my father who was 45 years old that time purchased a vcr and first movie cassete he bought from video lib rary was Devdas. He said that after watching dilipkumar in this movie he became a Dilip fan . My mother also kept raving about dilipkumar. I as a boy of 14 years was more into bachchan movies and didnt understand why parents liked Dilipsahab so much. Now after watchi ng this, I do.

First time in my life I have tears in my eyes while watching a movie Legend you will be always in our hearts

The legendary hindi film Director Bimal Roy,born in Bangladesh and director of great movies like Do bigha zameen, Parineeta, Madhumati, Parakh,Bandini and Devdas, to name a few, had said that when he thought of making Devdas he had just one actor in mind for the role of devdas and it was Dilip sahab.He further added that if he had rejected doing this movie,then he would have given up the idea of directing this eventual masterclass once and for all.

This movie was released 42 years before I was born. Despite of being this old the movie is great. Timeless classic👍🏻

When I was 16 years old I have watched near about 2 dozen movies. They had ultra legend actor.

Commenting on the character of Devdas brilliantly portrayed by Dilip Kumar, it was found that: Devdas was a self-absorbed, self-indulgent, fickle, and a slippery human being, and did not possess the exalted status of a passionate lover. He was non-confrontational, an escapist who would always look for reasons to run away. Dilip saab often called "an actor's actor" was also cited as "incapable of giving anything less than an excellent performance. This veteran of scores of movies was known for his naturalism and controlled intensity in films. This King of Tragedy remains unsurpassed even today.

Used to think people used to exaggerate or overrate his acting. Amazing stuff. Oscar type, really. First time watched this movie and seems he is not Dilip Kumar. But Devdas

Really this film deserves Oscar award

Awesome Movie, This one is billion times better than the new Devdas. Every scene gives a feeling like we are in the same age and living with character. Salute Bimal Da.

I have seen all three Hindi versions of Devdas: 1. K L Saigal and Jamuna; 2. Dilip Kumar and Suchitra Sen; 3. Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai. This is the best of the three. I have also read the deeply moving novel by Sharat Babu a number of times. I have to add that the Telugu version starring Nageshwara Rao and Savitri is outstanding with sublime music.

I have seen devdas 1935, 1955 and 2002 but I think the 1955 one is the best ❤

No comparison etween Dilip Kumar'sDevadas and Shahrukh' film DilipKumar's film is Immortal no one can forget it
