    I have been searching for a no nonsense video just like this. As a girl who is KZread taught, thanks for being such a great teacher! I'll be giving it a try on my 08 Kia Sportage with 210,000 so nothing like yours, but hey she's my baby and after doing all the repairs myself this past decade she deserves to look pretty too. Thanks again for the great video, I have subscribed!

    Looks great! When you compounded and polished, did you only use the one cutting and polishing pad for the whole car, or did you use multiples of each? I wonder how often I need to clean them during a correction..

  • @ThatISPerfection

    @ThatISPerfection

    7 ай бұрын

    My beamer is a small car so I used 2 pads one for what i refer to cutting ( a bit more aggressive ) and one for polishing. Keeping in mind that i spent a lot of time cleaning and claying the car before hand. The box truck on the other hand was a major project. i used again two pads but they were washed out a couple times during the process. I guess a correct answer would be how clean is the car and how big is the project. with out a doubt cleaning pads after is essential after use. i normally soak them in soapy water, rinse and repeat and then rinse with clean water. i hope this helps

I chose this DA because of how comfortable it felt in my hands,. That box truck.... i spent days with that tool in my hands no vibration and even though it is a larger tool my arms never got tired of holding it . If you watch my other vedios you will see i use a top of dewalt products. So i was scepitcial at first. but after using the hercules product i woud not hesitate to by another tool from this manafacture.

    How do you do the measurement for the rubbing alcohol and water mixture? Excellent video

  • @ThatISPerfection

    @ThatISPerfection

    7 ай бұрын

    Ratio is 40 percent alcohol 50 percent water. if your wife has a measuring cup measure out 4 ounces of alcohol and 6 ounces of water. if she does not you can go to a paint store and buy a quart mixing cup. third option buy a 8 ounce bottle of pop. fill it all the way up with water dump that into a container. then take the bottle and put alcohol in it leaving about a inch from the top. hope this helps ! welcome to the tip Chanel !! thanks for the comment !!

  • @ThatISPerfection

    The BMW is my garage puppy. So I did not use the blue on it. although the car is old the paint was in decent condition. My van however sets out in the elements so I did start with the blue pad on it. ( required heavier cutting through oxidation. Hope this helps and good luck on your journey !! thanks for the comments !!

    My van sets out in all the elements. Naturaly paint is scuffed by passing tree lims. So i choose fine to eliminate more defects in the paint. My car alto old it sets inside. ( less deffects in the paint. I wanted the Hiest shine i could produce on it so i chose to use ultra fine on it. Thanks MUCH !!@@ManishBoy100

    I noticed that you bought four pads. Can you tell me when you used each one during your process?

  • @ThatISPerfection

    @ThatISPerfection

    5 ай бұрын

    Marte, sure. think of the pads along with the compound as being different grits of sand paper. The BMW is old but is a garage puppy and the paint was in decant shape. I used the green pad first ( is a medium cutting) and finished with the white ( is a ultra fine ) The black is a waxing pad. My box truck is old and sets out in all the elements. I started with the blue pad ( a course cutting ) I followed with the yellow ( fine cutting) followed again with black for polishing. Both turned out Great. The machine with combination of pads and compound yielded amazing results !! So to conclude I would say chose your pads based on the quality of your paint. Hope this helps Don

    You do know you just wasted 90% of your compound. Use pad conditioner start, let it soak into the pad for 5 minutes then add 4 or 5 dime side drops of product onto the pad. Some will rub the product into the pad, some just dot the pad into vehicle in several spots to distribute the product. Do not just turn on polisher because most of the product on the pad WILL be spun off in every direction.
