What an excellent video! Great idea, really excellent presentation (loved the cuts to the simple diagram of the paint, for example), and a good attention to the details... I was so happy just to see that you measured the paint in a bunch of places, for ex. Looking forward to more and hope the algorithm gets your stuff to more folks, because the quality is definitely there.

It takes a brave detailer to do this. I could tell your ocd was going haywire purposely going against all your intuition as a detailer to not stop this demonstration. However doing so is paramount in teaching us what not to do when dealing our own cars.

Edges, definitely a difficult part. I learned the bad way how easy is to remove paint there when I tried to wet sand a small scratch I had near the edge of the wheel arch of my vehicle with a 1500 grit sand paper. I accidentally went over the edge on the plastic bumper with the sanding block and really fast I started seeing the black from the plastic. I was hand sanding btw.

Make video on rinsing first or foaming first cleans better

Excellent and very informative, maybe I’m over cautious but I prefer to use very small , almost pinstripe tape on sharp edges. Safety first.

Yeah ok nice mayhem, but how much time does it take to burn through the clear coat at a reasonable pressure and speed?

Yes, makes a more noticeable difference with a DA. Must still factor in variables of the machine/pad/polish/speed/force you’re using. A rotary will still cut quickly by comparison.

Id like to see how many mills of clear are on newer cars now days.

Would love to see the same pressure for rotary, dual action and maybe force rotation with the setting on which you would use the said tools ie. dual action guys would use higher rpm while rotary guys would use half or less than the dual action. This would eliminate the some of the variables and gives out a real world test and information....spoiler alert the results would be different.

I do wanna see some more fuck off videos for sure. I love a good range day myself

After removing clear coat, can you easily apply new clear coat to 'fix' the damage?
