DESTROY WHITE | The Modern Scandinavian
Ойындар
Hello everyone! In today's video, I have the Modern Scandinavian opening. This is a fantastic and aggressive reply to destroy white's e4. This is completely sound objectively, and there exists multiple gambits, notably the icelandic-palme gambit and the portugese gambit, where sacrifice of material is used to crush white. If you'd like, please like and subscribe if you enjoyed this video!

Posting uncommon gambits that not many people watch is a plus for us because not many people will know about it. Thank you.

I agree. I love knowing about different openings and gambits
Best opening video for me. Hanging Pawns goes in depth but as beginners we dont need so much. We just need general ideas, i think.
Been getting into chess after playing as a kid and I've gotta say, you are by far my favorite channel for learning openings and variations. Straight to the point, clearly labeling variations, no wasted time. Thank you for this channel.
The Scandinavian Defence was one of the first openings I learned as a beginner. Now that I've played more and studied some openings for white, I stopped playing the Scandi as I never really liked my Queen out directly at the start of the game. So I got down in the explorer and tested around with some Scandinavian variations without taking the pawn directly. I came to the modern Scandi: Looked it up to find more, and found this video, perfectly explaining everything I'll need for this as a beginner. Thank you very much!
First one of your videos i watched, will definatly come back for more opening vids
Very very interesting and helpful. Thanks a lot!
The one of the best chanell on youtube thank you!
l play Scandy Opening all the time. But modern Scandy has lots to learn lm enjoy watching. thank you !
I just wanted to thank you for an extremely well explained variation of the Scandinavian 2NF6 gambit. In truth. With YOUR explanation and some practice, and by some practice I mean playing 300 to 500 games, in Blitz chess, with a 5 to 10 minute Time control. The player will (BEGIN) to understand the this variation of the Scandinavian. A player show be able to LEARN and PLAY this defense fairly well. DON'T be scared. That's MY thinking on trying to pickup a new chess opening. Just think of it as 20 games a day, and in 3 weeks to a month you'll have a new opening to play. Just Don't give up or let anyone discourage you. It has worked for me. THANK YOU AGAIN FOR THIS MODERN SCANDI . Dennis
Well explained by you it is amazing 🤩❤
Great video thanks 🙏
I subscribed btw this is a fantastic guide i went through Gotham Chess alex banzea ginger And a few others and you explained shit way better. Like they show u the basics you show what to do when they counter the trap. 👍

@@clumsyroad4026I have a couple of theories to why he might quit the Sicilian (from an ex-Sicilian player who also switches to Scandinavian and Caro-Kann) 1. The theory in the Sicilian is simply too much. Even in the main lines like Najdorf or Dragon, you still have to know like 12 moves and each moves have several lines, not to mention the huge amount of sidelines nonsense like Alapin, Smith-Morra, Grand Prix, a3 Sicilian and so on. 2. Even if you survives the opening, the battle will still be very chaotic, partly because of the combative nature of the opening but also because of the galore of ideas in the Sicilian, which makes amateur players struggle to control the position. 3. Since it's a combative opening, you need to have the initiative to win, which obviously the Black pieces will struggle to get. Also from my own experience, I find it a lot more comfortable to play against the Sicilian than playing the Sicilian. It's not to say Sicilian is a bad opening. In fact, I would argue it is one of the best openings for Black against e4. I just think it too complicated for most amateurs to fully grasp the concepts and utilise it. Compared to Scandinavian/Caro-Kann, the ideas are much more concrete and easy to understand. It's easier to be in control when playing those openings. However, if you still want to play the Sicilian, I would recommend you to check out the Kan Sicilian (1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 e6 3. d4 cxd4 4. Nxd4 a6). I think its ideas are not too complicated, I've tried it and I have had a lot of fun with it

@@prplt More like because it's labeled as "aggressive" but it's just another KID/Pirc/Grunfeld/ type positional opening. Not necessarily fun for beginners or folks who prefer tactical sharp games with a lot of attacking chances. The Scandi is a fantastic sharp opening for black against 1.e4
Thank you i watched five videos and nobody mentioned what to do against queen f3 on turn two... People do that all the time and i kept losing lol This is the best Scandinavian guide i have watched and ive been watching back to back videos for like an hour

If they don't take your pawn on move 2, then you take their pawn, and play normal chess from there.
I used to play this over 50 years ago.
best openings on KZread 😊
great vid
wow
ahh I need to study this now as white because I face scandinavian all the time
Please include PGNs of the variations so we can study later
Tak!

Thank you! I’m very glad you enjoyed the video!
This has to be the best defense
7:49 actually Queen to e7 is slightly early here. You can really catch your opponents off guard with bishop takes bishop and when Queen recaptures then play Qe7 there are some tricky lines and beautiful sacrificial ideas even after whites response to Qe7. Check it out with the engine and top gm/titled player games the lines are insane and not well know for white players.

Almost every move besides Qe3 is winning and even with perfect play for white it’s still a better endgame for black (for humans)
What do you do if, after Nc3, they push pawn up to C4, protecting that center pawn? You're down a pawn and the most forward pawn is now protected.
The best line for white: 1.e4.d5. 2 exd5.Kf6. 3.d4.Bg4 4.Bb5!!
Scotch Gambit 🤞
i find my opponent brings the other knight out in the Nc3 line any tips on how to proceed
What is the best approach if the Iceland palme gambit is declined?

Take their d pawn if they don't take yours
Modern defense 🤞
They always do h3 and chase the bishop
Great channel, but I don't appreciate the 'brilliant move' clickbait. Brilliant moves are simply good sacrifices, but I've noticed that your thumbnails never depict a sacrifice. Your channel is great, no need for cheap tricks to make it grow 👍
is this line better than the classic line
Could we play our bishop more actively at 2:42?
C6 is objectively better than e6 in the c4 line The only problem is is If black decides to transpose Into a panov I am not afraid of it though

We have another engine-clone, hooray! He has studied and memorized engine moves very well, that's why he talks so fast, yes - hooray!! And what is the result? bla bla boring - bla bla boring.....etc...nothing original..sad, very sad
