Destroy the Small Blind with This Solver Big Blind Defense Chart

Ойындар

#simplegto #preflop #gtopoker
Solved with as many bet sizes, raise sizes, and strategic options as a my server can handle, this is the hyper-polarized Big Blind Defense strategy that robots play when the Small Blind tries to steal.
For solver nerds, this was solved with:
3BB RFI, 9BB 3-Bet, 24.5BB 4-Bet,
4-6 bet sizes on flops, 4 bet sizes on turn and rivers, 3 raise sizes,
66% pot all-in to allow for smaller bets and raises in 4-bet pots,
10k, 100k, 100k accuracy @ 100 iterations / node

I agree with everything you said here, including what you said previously about small cbet sizings. Assuming all your solves are accurate(which anyone with a solver can verify for themselves), there's nothing to argue. I have been taking the "reverse-engineer" approach with PIO for several months now - what I mean is that I run countless scripts and decipher what the solvers do in each spot and translate the theory behind it all. Soon you start seeing patterns and trends - and the "code" is cracked!! IMO - this is truely the only way to learn/teach poker. EVERYTHING ELSE IS BS!! I share a lot of your theory passion. All your points are money! I enjoy and encourage your vids - it is the only poker theory truth!

Great video! I have only one question. How we would defend with so many thrash hands against around 2.2x 4-bet or smaller?

Nice video, ranges seems to be accurate. Dont u think it makes sense to go with a bigger 3betsize like 4x as ranges are so polarized? How does ranges change if SB opens much wider? should u 3bet more linearish if SB is calling more instead of 4betting?

"In the big bling vs small blind, we can probably describe the 3-betting strategy as hyper-polarized. That is, there's going to be some hands that are very clear value hands. But a lot of the other hands that you're going to be 3-betting are complete BS."

Great video and the content is much appreciated. Just curious as to why you think A5s is not always a 3 bet? I think I agree with your logic. Everything I've heard lately from people is all the rage for 3-betting A5s. It's great that you are willing to explore your own different lines and you are not just conforming to sample. It was not that many years ago when some people claimed that No Limit was a solved game. The advancement in poker theory, GTO, average player improvement and more, has put toast to that claim.

Going from the video it's because it's not near enough to the bottom of the BB's range; in a polarized strategy we only 3bet the strongest and weakest hands, and A5s (and even down to A2s) looks to be too strong to 3bet preflop.

@@AdrianWan BB has position locked, therefore what does 3 betting Ax5x here accomplish? Compared to the button position 3bet, you are isolating villain and buying the lead while in position.

@@craigmeadows9575 I don't know if I understand your question. Are you advocating for 3betting A5s 100% as BB in order to isolate villain and buy the lead while in position, or saying that 3betting A5s here is bad? My understanding here is that (1) We want to play (hyper)polarized as BB facing SB RFI because that's what the solver tells us is GTO (maximizes EV without being exploitable), (2) A5s is too strong in our overall range to be a 3bet because it is neither very strong nor very weak. Any other considerations of "buying the lead" etc. are human approximations that are unnecessary when we can just ask the solver what it would do.

A5s is one of the best 3betting hands outside of the blinds so I get why you'd be surprised. The blind v blind ranges are much wider so you pick worse hands to bluff with like the offsuit Aces and suited crap

Why do the SB 4bet hands like AJo,ATo,KJo and KQo when facing a fairly polarized 3bet range from the BB? I thought these hands should be "too good" to be used as a 4bet bluff especially in a BvB configuration? Also when we are OOP shouldn't we 4bet bluff more suited hands instead as they have more playability postflop?(just like when we are 4betting EP vs CO?) Is it because the BB will very frequently be 5betting or folding vs our 4bet so that we want to use hands with good blockers to their 5betting range?

I can follow your polarized logic, but I thought you were supposed to 3 bet bluff hands like your weak axs kxs (eg k6s) because of the blocker effects, which decreases the chances of them having a premium hand which can profitably call or 4 bet, and because they still have decent post flop equity/playability in case you are called? Also, if your opponent over calls then you should make your range linear and just go to value town. Any help would be appreciated

  • @rando9574

k6s is "too good" so its more value in calling vs sbs wide range. if u 3bet it and get called , u are in a spot with a hand that is not so good anymore vs sbs now filtered range by calling a 3b. u also loose with it when u fold it vs a 4bet. so u voluntairily take a good hand and put it in a bad spot. better to use trash for that. however u can def 3bet it some times. if your sb is too tight, k6s is no longer so good, so then it can move down to trashy 3bet with blocker effect
