Piosolver LABORATORY: Continuation Bet Sizing Tutorial

Ойындар

In part one of our Laboratory series, we're investigating how top poker players choose their crazy bet sizes on the flop with Piosolver, starting with six sizes, whittling it down to three, then looking at a single size+check versus simplifying down to a 100% betting strategy.

    Great video! Makes it easy to understand why smaller sizings work so good. Suggestion for future video: when to overbet the turn and what is the EV difference between using 75% compared to overbetting 1.5x or 2x pot.

    What's the context of the solutions at 9:50? I'm having trouble making sense of when the data would make sense. I have to think the numbers represent the EV of the aggressor as expressed by percentage of the pot seeing as how it's 62% on the most favorable board for the preflop raiser (AK7tt). (Which also means I'm assuming at least one of the ranges is a capped flatting range). I also assume the percentages you have are for the OOP player because it's generally

    I have sheets organized by formation (btn v bb etc), then on each sheet I breakdown the evs of using mixed strategies and depolarized strategies across multiple textures and against various opponent types. My exact sheets aren't important, you should structure your own sheets in whatever way is clearest for you.

    This is a very nice video, although I have some suggestions. 11 cents loss is probably around 5bb/100 which is not huge but is not that small either. Is there a simplified 33% pot bet strategy where we can choose some hands to check to reduce that loss?

    I just bougth GTO+ and it's great, for a fraction of the price! From what I've read, they almost both do the same thing. The only downside I see, is that PIO has much more online ressources since it has been the prefered choice so far. But like I said, they both are so close in features that most of the time I can take setups like the one in this video and put them in GTO+. Another + for GTO+ is that it works with Flopzilla, if you already have it. It can live update when you play against the solution.

    Hey man great video just 2 questions. First, how are you picking the flops to study and use in your spreadsheet are they just random or are you using a subset from the Pio website. Second what's your opinion on the "hottness" feature on Pio is it another rabbit hole to get lost in or is it something you find useful to study with. Thanks in advance and keep up the videos!

  • @AlvinTeachesPoker

    @AlvinTeachesPoker

    5 жыл бұрын

    I originally used the 100 sub-sets from the PIO website, but I quickly was able to detect patterns and narrow the amount of flops I needed to test. I think the hotness feature is useful to verify mass generalizations. For example, you could use hotness to see what turns the OOP should lead occasionally, versus check 100%. It's great for probing and poking at theories, but in general I try not to dive too deep down ANY rabbit hole that combo-specific.

    Really good video dude. When you talk about villain probably playing too passive against your bets on the flop, do you do things like node-lock how you think they are going to be playing certain combos for later streets? Do you just adjust your strategy in your head and not waste time assigning actions to every holding?
