PLEASE keep making vlogs about surface design. It's my comfort video and I feel like it's hard to find youtubers vlogging their progress. I AM OBSESSED.

I totally agree -- one of the reasons I started making these videos was because I couldn't find anybody else sharing about their surface pattern design journey, but I'm totally with you. I love watching transparent, behind-the-scenes vlogs! Don't worry -- I will definitely keep making these! Making them brings me so much joy! 🫶

If they're not already on your list, consider submitting a portfolio to Smokey Hill Designs. Some of your stuff might fit in pretty well. Do you have a cat collection? A pancake collection? No problem getting models for either of those. P.S. Also a data nerd, R > Matlab!

Ooo, thanks for the tip! I’ll definitely look into that! You know, I shockingly don’t have a cat collection yet. I really should get on that! I actually started working on a breakfast food collection, though 😆 (Yes!!! R is the best!)

Hey Sarah! This was fun to watch! I feel a bit of burn out creeping up from working on deadlines I've been setting for myself, so it was nice to take a break and watch someone else paint 😅 I'm really loving your birthday collection, I think it would make great gift wrap and party supplies! Also, how do you work in Photoshop without a mouse!?? Lol I cannot navigate, much less work on a pattern without my mouse!

Ahh so glad I could help you step off the burnout train!! To be avoided at all costs!! LOL this is a great question! Most of the time I do use my mouse, but I guess there were clips in this video where I didn’t show it 😆. I have a Bluetooth mouse that I can use on basically any surface, so if I’m working on the couch I often just have it on the cushion next to me haha

I have to go to work this morning so this was awesome to watch/listen to while getting ready. Plus it’s inspiring. The process seems very rewarding especially since the patterns look fantastic. Nice work!❤

SIlly question. Are you having to pay a monthly fee to use the softwares you use to create your pattern designs? Or have you brought it somehow?

I do pay a subscription for the Adobe products ☺️ but I also just started using Procreate, which is a one time fee!
