I can see both side on everything but the glass shower. I lived in a place that had a bathtub sliding shower doors. The track took a toothbrush to clean. The doors were hard to move and often came off track. The textured glass was time consuming to try and keep clean.... nightmare. They looked & functioned like cheap builder grade crap. While those solid clear shower walls in the photos are beautiful - I just can't get past the trauma of that nightmare track doors to consider it again. Ha Yes! - to the dream home video.

No to tracks! I have a glass block wall. It is stunning, and we just wipe it down after every shower. It looks great. I seal the glass every year too.

I loved the intermission with Linus and Cornealius. I would also love a glass shower door situation if we had more space, or didn't need to use the bathtub to bathe a german shepherd and a cattle dog. But it's not just high maintenance it makes the tub not usable. So we have a shower curtain that's mostly pulled to one side and unobtrusive.

I have a navy kitchen. My house is white, navy and blues. It's a new house and I love it, it also has 20-foot ceilings.❤❤

I would love to see what your dream home looks like! We redid our kitchen 2 years ago, with deep sapphire blue Marmoleum floor (which I love with a fiery burning passion), white cabinets, black quartz countertop and white/gray marble backspash, The walls are a soft yellow. It just makes me happy to be in there now.

Yes to the glass door for the shower. Personally, I hate shower curtains. Most of the walls are sand, or beige color. I have a lot of colorful artwork on the walls. Contrast deep, dark green countertops in contrast to my maple cabinetry. Just me, but I really enjoy it. The walls in my bedroom are purple palace. I love the mood in the bedroom that compliments the furnishings.

I love blue and I have it in several rooms!

I just am too practical to choose a monochromatic space-black kitchen etc. I want to be able to easily change things. And I want to show off my collections. I like classic basics that fit the style of the house, but I love design and being able to personalize my space and use color. I’m adverse to the idea that someone will buy a house and have to tear out the kitchen or an ugly bathroom. I like good quality elements too.

Glass shower doors now can be purchased with some kind of coating that makes them a breeze to clean. I have new glass shower doors and love them. You can also spend more money and get glass that does not have a green tinge( wish I had known about these)

Ha ha! I have literally no blue in my flat. It's not that I dislike it, but I've decided to go with warm neutrals, greens and ochres. I love Arts and Crafts and Art Nouveau styles, so it's a nod to the colour palette that was popular at that time. I add red, orange or warm purple accents with flowers or decorations during the autumn and winter. I'm never on trend, but I don't care! No black kitchen either - I've painted my cheapo laminate cabinets in Farrow and Ball 'red earth' - a warm earthy pink, paired with dark green walls in F&B 'bancha'. One day I may be able to afford to get the kitchen redone, but not yet. I do love a dark moody room, and this is what I did with my spare bedroom/study. The light in there is really bad, so dark chocolatey near-black walls with lots of pictures in gilt frames, gilt sconces and lots of old books to give an old library/art gallery feel. It's so nice and cosy to sit there in the winter. My living room is the opposite with white walls and thrifted oak furniture. I love the contrast. Would love to put in some panelling and maybe some wallpaper if I get the courage (and money) to!

I'm with you on shower curtains. I do NOT want them touching me, and I absolutely hate them. Plus, I read The Shining when I was 16, so I need to know at a glance that there is no dead zombie woman in your tub.

I think an accent wall now and then it's OK. I remember when they wanted every room to have an accent wall. That got ridiculous. Maybe one in the whole house was OK.

I require light & bright!

We are moving to a condo with an open space floorplan. My new black kitchen will only be 6.8 feet high to have everything reachable from the floor. The backsplash will be light light oak and the countertops a light colored quartz. The inside of the cupboards is white. We have large black industrial grips. We are in our late 70s and my huisband has poor sight. The backsplash has sensor triggered lichting.

Hi Garrett! Favorite part of the video was those sweet doggies! 😊 I put in a light-toned greige color/ painted cabinets for my kitchen remodel several years ago. Still love it, but keeping it looking clean is a little more work than I anticipated. Couldn't afford quartz countertops, so instead chose new caladonia granite counters which I'm very happy with. Love your videos!!

For me blue and silver screams Barmitzvah...or in my case Batmitzvah 😅 I cannot...I hated that decor at mine 😅

I wouldn’t have a black kitchen, but I do find it gorgeous! I have always had glass doors in my bathroom, and it’s not difficult at all to clean them. 😀

My advice would be to stay away from an oil rubbed finish on cabinets in your kitchen. Very difficult to clean.

I went with a dark wood for my uppers and lower cabinets with white quartz counter tops. The color is called clove and the style is sort of shaker but with a little edging to make it more transitional. Island is same. I am a little nervous 😮 because I sort of wanted flat cabinets and a painted island but the designer talked me out of it. I decided on a chrome faucet and brushed nickel hardware. I'm thrilled to hear blue in silver is in! Just bought a blue TV cabinet with silver handles from, all places, Big Lots and it's great!

I like accent walls if it matches the other walls. A wallpaper whit green leafs and some flowers and the other walls painted green and some green decor with it. And decor that matches the flowers in the wallpaper

I thought I round never have black in my kitchen but, as we didn’t want to purchase new cabinets (having done several kitchen remodels), we went with a black countertop to tie in with some trim. I’ll try to post before and after pictures. We also have a wall of windows across from the kitchen area.

All white kitchens have been shoved at us for SO long, I have to love the drama of an all-black kitchen. If you compare the maintenance, I think they're pretty similar (I had an all-black countertop in a previous home).

I am currently renting but it has taught me about what I DON’T want in a kitchen, which is a countertop with a high contrast pattern. I think my ideal would be a custom, butcher block countertop.

Sure! I would be interested in learning about your dream kitchen and other rooms of a house.

I personally don’t like shower curtains and have a glass screen, despite living in a hard water area. I squeegee it every shower but still get marks. When we visited the states one of the air bnb’s had a shower curtain, but it had magnets in it which stuck to the bath so you don’t get wet curtains sticking to you. I thought that was great - a simple solution but very effective. I also have black kitchen countertops and once I’ve finished cleaning turn around and look at the start and it needs doing again. I think part of this is that I’m in the UK and don’t have air con, therefore my windows are open a lot in summer. Having said that I do like the look of the dark countertops. I agree with you Garett about moody spaces. If I had the right house I’d have a dark cosy room, but unfortunately I don’t and I have SAD, so my interiors are light and bright, but I bring interest with wooden furniture and art.

I would love to hear and see your fantasy blue kitchen.

Would love to see a video about very colorful but also elegant and chic living spaces. I was raised in a remote, rustic lodge in Alaska. Although charming, this is not for me! Through my background in art and design I became enamored of all things modern, bright, colorful and at the same time elegant. Not easy to pull all this together !

NO to the black kitchen for me -- not because of cleaning, but because it would be too hard to see what you're doing. They look beautiful in pictures but I wouldn't want to actually cook in one. Also NO to the all white kitchen, they look sterile and boring to me -- no personality. I have an accent wall now, which I loved for many years, but I'm over it now. In my current remodel I will not be having one. I think they can look really nice though if done well.

LOVE the art behind you!! and I know its got a strong smell, but white vinegar dissolves the mineral deposits from hard water and is completely natural and safe. In fact its the acidity in rain water passing through porous rock like limestone that dissolves the minerals and then builds up as the water drips from cave ceilings and lands on the floor that forms stalactites and stalagmites over time. It will keep hard water from building up in those all black kitchens too, if that's your thing.

Black kitchen looks amazing however, for someone else. Not me.

In processing of remodeling the mb. Building a 74ish tall pony wall that will stay open above. Shower is quite oblong so a glass shower door, even with the pony wall will remain warm but feel open. I don't like all glass showers because I like privacy.🙂

Variety is the spice of life, and that's what you give us Garrett with so much info in all of your videos! 😊❤

Blue and silver- my blue is navy so I'm not completely trendy, this is my kitchen ❤ I use a squeegee on the shower screen after each use. I'm in the UK, there are lots of wet rooms because it takes up less room as in general our houses are smaller.

I’m no fan of the open shower. It’s a stripping, falling hazard, accident prone area. Who wants to have wet feet when you brush your teeth, do your skincare routine, or even just use the toilet? I just don’t understand the trend

Im installing a anti fingerprint laminate kitchen cabinetry All BLACK except for the island bench top which is stainless steel (theres the silver 😅) my home is two storey secluded on a few hectares so there is glass on three sides of the space letting in plenty of light and views you guys have me concerned that no one likes black hopefully i wont regret it . Loved seeing the pups garret they are so happy and playful
