Derrick Rose. The youngest NBA Most Valuable Player award winner in history. 3x NBA All-Star. All-NBA First Team. 2009 Rookie of the Year. 2x FIBA World Cup Gold Medalist. For the duration of his career, people have understood Derrick Rose to be one thing: a tantalizing talent when taking it to the tin. Rose’s ability to contort and convert around, over, under, between, and through defenders made him a lethal playmaker.
Before the injury in the 2012 playoffs, Rose was a reasonably durable player. He played 81, 78, and 81 games during his first three years, logging around 37 minutes per game throughout that span. Injuries derail many an NBA career, but a 42.7 FG% during his final year in Chicago was his best since returning from the myriad injuries. His ability to attack the rack is always going to be one of the keys to his team winning basketball games, so the more he does that, the more effective he will be. I wanted to do something celebrating his time in Chicago, but he’s too terrific a finisher to do a complete compilation, so I figured a video of his final season in the CHI was the best way to go.

couldnt agree more😢。 Drose took those hit like a man, even with his 6 2, but nowadays, they can simply rolling over the flooring just because u are breathing too close to them, especially Luka & u know who else.

Can't compare the 2. Rose has a 40 inch vertical. One use his speed and athletic ability. The other one uses his skill set to lay that ball off the backboard. Rose can't lay it up anymore because he lost some speed and jumping ability. Kyrie will never have that problem.

Despite the injuries, the man can still ball. He's having a pretty good year in NY, and he's more agressive this year than last year and is settling less for threes. He's still one of the quickest point guards and one of the best, if not the best finisher around the basket. And he can still get up and dunk. Just wait until he posters someone

You can definitely tell he's more careful with his landings and body positioning when going back down. Pre-injuries, he was erratic and out of control which lead to his initial injury.

He still more athletic than Westbrook currently. Just because Rose don’t dunk anymore and Westbrook does doesn’t mean he’s more athletic. Dunking don’t define all aspects of athleticism I could name several players that can dunk that don’t have a athletic bone in their body

I dont think Curry,CP3,Kyrie,Wall have ever took it to Drose like he did to them. Rose as fucked them all up.

Excellent ball handler, and excellent at finishing at the rim...literally is average to below average at everything else. His MVP year was an anomaly...think I'm hating? Look at his career stats, then stats BEFORE, and AFTER the acl tear. They are identical with what he is doing this year in NY
