Last year I used a popular 20% l-ascorbic acid product for a few months and my skin became very sensitive. I stopped using it, but it took a long time to get my skin back to normal. Now. I only use products with THD. I have used the Paula's Choice moisturizer you mentioned. It's very nice.

Same! For about 20 years I tried different L Ascorbic acid serums with E and ferulic acid. I never enjoyed any of them but used them because of the scientific evidence that L Ascorbic acid stimulates collagen production in the skin.

I realized that the Vanicream one is better for me because at night I use retinol and if I use the other vitamin C’s in the AM that have a ton of other ingredients like lactic acid it will 🔥 burn my skin. This product is great for sensitive skin.

Great video, and super informative! For really dehydrated/sensitive skin, especially in winter, I like Sanitas Vita C Serum. It's oil-based but a few drops (you don't need much) applied to damp skin and it absorbs within minutes. DRMTLGY also makes a great Vitamin C based moisturizer, their C5 is fantastic. Sanitas makes a 15% THD Serum that's also good and affordable. I've gone through several bottles of it.

I have been using the perricone md ccc for several months and I have noticed lightening of my dark spots. I will say that perricone md often has sales especially around holidays. Zulilly often has these products as well if you want to try to see if it works for you before paying full price. Lastly, I have combo skin and unlike other formulas, I don’t have an issue with this product; doesn’t make me greasy nor doesn’t cause me to have acne.

I love the Peter Thomas Roth Vitamin C. Currently trying the Skin Better Science one and like it but will likely go back to the PTR. I like that most THD vitamin C come in a pump rather than a dropper which I hate. While these are expensive, I could never finish a L-ascorbic vitamin C before it oxidized so factoring that in many of these are cheaper than the SC one.

And which should be layer first?? I always get confused. For example, morning I want to hydrate and tackle my acne scar but I'm always unsure which chemicals will work with one another so I can get the best result for my skin. AM and PM.

Finally THD getting some attention! Every active product in my a.m. and p.m. routines contains an effective amount of a substance that has been proven to stimulate collagen in the skin EXCEPT my THD vitamin c. I’m willing to make one exception because I love how THD products make my skin feel. I’m alternating between the Peter Thomas Roth Potent C and the Vanicream C. Now that I have found THD, I’m looking for more THD products to try. Even when on sale for about $70 I feel the Peter Thomas Roth serum is not at a reasonable price. Plus the smell is terrible and I’m hoping another company will be able to formulate with THD in a way that doesn’t cause this odor.

I stumbled upon The Ordinary Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate Solution 20% in Vitamin F, and I think its the unpatented version of THD? I just ordered it bc its 20% and only $20! I was looking at the Peter Thomas Roth and it was really hard to make that jump to $105. I wanted something for those days where I can't handle the burn of ascorbic acid, even though it works amazing for brightening. Can you tell us all something about The Ordinary version of THD? The upside of THD seems to be that it can be mixed w copper peptides, and tretinoin...am I correct? That's why I ordered it, bc I could use it both am and pm and add to moisturizers I like...I hope.

The Ordinary lists Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate as a “key ingredient” in their product “Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate Solution 20% in Vitamin F.” I am really confused why they wouldn’t market it as THD (the name most of us know it by) if that’s what it is, and similarly why they would claim it contains THD if it doesn’t. :-/
