Somehow this performance should be included in a movie, a play and a song. Then he be added to the EGOT list. He has always been my favorite dancer on the show. Many CONGRATULATIONS to him for the win!

Usually my eyes tend to watch the woman when couples dance. This guy is mesmerizing.

Every time he dances I watch him even when we were supposed to be watching the celebrity who was the actual contestant. I think that may be why he won so many of the competitions - the audience was voting for him instead of his partner.

This is MIND BLOWING. The moves are so clean and sharp, you can slice meat with it. The perfect angles that make up the paso doble’s signature moves and breathtaking choreography (both literally for the dancers and figuratively for those who watched this) and the tense music blending together is eerily haunting and beautiful. This is hands down the BEST DWTS performance EVER.

Okay, as a former dancer, this is by far the best choreography Paso Doble dance I have ever had the pleasure & honor to watch. The chemistry is breath takingly beautiful. My Spaniard heart be still. Ole !!! Derek & Haley , a much deserved Emmy for this beautiful masterpiece.

He really is just such an exceptional dancer. I think often the talent of the more well known dancers can be exaggerated but he really does live up to the hype and his choreography is as exceptional as his dancing.

No, while this is good it’s still a made for TV performance not competition level dancing. They’re not on the elite level of genuine professional dancers like Riccardo Cocchi and Yulia Zagoruychenko the 10 time Latin Professional World Champions! There’s a difference between dancing with the stars coaches and performers than real professionals.

@@Diane-tq7lw Nobody doubts they're great dancers and this coreography was beautiful, but the amount of dedication you need to perfect the professional level of Salsa and Paso doble, specially in the competitive realm, takes years and years of practicing only that. I think what Bellabana wants to highlight is that they are really good as performers, but they aren't professional latin music dancers (which is okay, but as a Latinamerican it does annoy me sometimes when people watch some "latin" presentations that don't even match the music with the type of dance, like in this one where the music is a spanish paso doble and the dance and costumes tend more towards ballroom salsa, and simply think that's the best it gets. it feels like poor representation).

Still watching this in 2024....this is flawless.

Derek has been my favorite dancer for a decade. His choreography tells a story and he emotes charisma, power, and passion. To see him do this with his lady just makes it perfection. She can keep up with him like nobody but his sister ever has. Super beautiful footwork, and the flamenco portion was exquisite. I just wish they filmed it straight- without the graphics & effects. Derek needs no embellishments.

agree, the filming spining around the dancers made it dizzying and more difficult to see what the were doing. Think it would have been even more impressive without it. These two need no tricks.

I'm no slouch in heels - I've sprinted for buses & trains in spike heeled boots - but imagine having that sort of balance & control. She even absorbs the impacts of those _landings_ flawlessly, somehow. Sorcery.

And if it weren't, then the fact that I haven't done any of that sprinting in 8 years since a speeding car destroyed my spine would make it so. 😉

Recently went to see Dereks show in Vegas and dude danced on point for an hour and a half barely breaking a sweat 💯💯 You'd be hard pressed to find any athlete in the world with that kind of dedication or stamina!!

What I like about Derek Hough as a choreographer is that he really seems to understand how to design a performance so that it works on camera. I always get the feeling that he knows exactly where the camera is going to be, and how that's going to work with what the dancers are doing.

It´s a tv show. Of course he knows where the cameras are and every cameraperson will know every step of the dancers. They reherse that. Otherwise it would be a total mess.

This dude has choreographed EVERYTHING, dancing, music videos, shows, figure skating, the only thing he has yet to do is a complete Broadway or West End show.

They didn't need all those visual effects going on, so distracting from their beautiful moves. I would love to see this without all that. Derek has always been my favorite dancer. So glad he's found someone who can compliment his moves and match him step for step.

You can tell it is Derek because of the way he carries himself. He’s fluid yet precise. mesmerizing is the perfect word. What a wonderful way to spend my time. Wow.

Talk about a mastery of physical musicality. They are great together but the Derek dancing with the muleta was absolute perfection. I've never seen anything like that.

Nothing I love more than to see a judge in a competition who can actually walk the walk! Love Derek and Julianne!

Just a tad more lighting would've helped for the contrast. But I get the artistic objective: the Dark, the red, the silhouette... --but because the movements were so amazing, I, like you, wanted to see just a bit more of their body in the light. Unbelievable performance. Blown Away. This guy, although American, is ethnically a Dane by Heritage, but he captures the spirit of the influencing ethnicities who came and went leaving their mark, which is rained in so well by the Spanish. Jewish, Muslim and the Gypsy spirit all come together so beautifully.
