Slide Queen. That fit's Meghan perfectly. I love to see them on stage with Gov't Mule and hear Meghan and Warren trade slide licks. Since Warren and Derrick are best friends, Meghan probably go all fangirl. LOL

@@dylandenney3980, I agree. I bought a lap steel because of her, have NO idea how to play it, but I know I want to sound like her eventually. They are both SO soulful it's not funny.

No auto-tune, no drum machine, just pure heart and soul! Real emotion.

All those music tech plugins are great tools - and they are fun, and there is still no substitute for the Real Deal. And there ain’t ever gonna be. Larkin Poe IS the Real Deal. These sisters and their rhythm section are among the Best right now. Larkin Poe!

Im twice that age and I still do too.

I'm 72 and discovered Larkin Poe about 6 years ago. Everything I've heard from these young ladies is far and above most of the current music artists. Thanks for being so true with your music!

Megan's harmonies are one of my favorite things.

Wonderful cover of the tune! Allman didn’t play on it though- all guitars were Clapton. I’m sure Duane would be proud of these 2 though!

@@TheNottheface I wondered about that, having listened to the album going all the way back to its original release, so I just checked Wikipedia: Duane Allman did play on the album, but not on Bell Bottom Blues (or 2 other songs).

@@TheNottheface Yep, Sky Dog joined a little later into the sessions. This is to me the greatest rock/blues album in history, and the emotion of Bell Bottom gives me chills - Clapton is almost moaning the lyrics in some places.

I've always loved Clapton's version of this song. Now I have another one to love. ❤❤❤❤

I've seen many videos from this series and I love them all...but this one!! It blew me away! How they breath new life into these classics is amazing. I like how its just the two of them with a mic in the middle of room. You get to hear the music fill the room with all its raw intensity. The slide work and harmony moved me. And who on Earth could have given this a thumbs down! 22 People!! Those poor heartless souls!

I won't argue too much with that sentiment -- though I might suggest that "Thorn Tree in the Garden" is a worthy contender for that top spot . . . .

Rebecca has more talent in her little finger (watch it) than I’ve ever had. Not to mention Megan’s dynamic playing.

I've just recently found LP, and I've been binge watching ever since. While I've loved everything I've heard so far, I especially love the self made videos, especially the covers. They manage to distill great rock ballads down to two to three minutes without losing the soul of the original, and still make it their own. I am truly in awe.

Brilliant cover and totally inspired slide from Megan which had everything,: tone, touch and such feeling. Her solo was one of the best I've ever heard and that's saying a lot. Not forgetting of course Rebecca's amazingly soulful vocals. I'd give this performance 11 out of 10.

This is absolutely the best cover of this song I've ever heard. Even some of Clapton's various bands in the early 70's were just sort of phoning it in. (Heroin is a hell of a drug). Without Duane Allman on slide guitar to pull it together, the arrangement doesn't work. That's why this cover is so good.

Hi Zaw Zaw, sorry to correct but Duane's not on this song - its all Clapton. Duane joined the sessions a little later, and several of Laylas songs are Clapton's guitar work only. See if you can spot 'em! But when they play together its magic.

Hey Kev, I like your post. There's one other giant of the Tulsa Sound we should be thinking about. That's JJ Cale. Troubadour would be a great JJ Cale album to play while you're truckin' on down the road. Speaking of truckin', you just reminded me of Merle Haggard's classic song Movin' On. I'm also a huge fan of his wife Christine Lakeland and her stuff too. troubadours fantastic I always loved that song travelin light..only profits too damn short that should have been a for 5 minutes on 2 and 1/2 minutes just doesn't cut it LOL.. you ever watch the JJ Cale Leon Russell & Friends Classic on KZread from the Paramount studios to full 1979 concert but that's a gem right there..even see that danelectro that John tore apart and put back together like a skeleton guitar. I've always liked that program and of course roller skating Larry Bell oh my God that was something... looking like Linda Ronstadt from 1977 with the short shorts in the satin jacket..😂😂😂 yes I followed Megan and Rebecca from the early starts as they were just beginning Larkin Poe on KZread it's like watching them grow up. just like Joey bonamassa on KZread in his early years. as somebody who I have respected more and more ever since they came out of almost like highschool Josh Turner not the Long Black Train country guy but Josh Turner from Indiana.. and his friends they've grown up on KZread in front of my eyes to just like Megan Rebecca.. sometimes look up Josh Turner he's been posting for probably 7 to 8 years now along with his friend Carson and there's a couple other girls from their Circle that just kind of rotate their way around KZread get together and play 4 years they all went to school together.

In such a money grubby artificial world, that is so pure and soulful - I'm going to play it again; wishing you a great New Year girls and please don't take that shilling, what you do is life enhancing.

What more can be said but OUTSTANDING!!!! HIT THIS ONE OUT OF THE PARK.. I'm a big Clapton fan and he's gotta be smiling with this one! Again , OUT-OUTSTANDING!!!
