@@slyjokerg oh without a doubt Philadelphia is still one of my favorite movies starring Tom Hanks and Denzel Washington. I was completely surprised he did not even get any awards or nomination for Best Supporting Actor in that movie. He was totally awesome in portraying his character arc, from a lawyer who was heavily prejudiced to the LGBTQ group, to someone who comes to respect Tom's character.

Denzel is a legend that will be passed on for generations

While the idea for Book of Eli was interesting, the movie was a huge mess. Denzel plays the character too stoic (not as bad as Will Smith in After Earth, but not far off), and he has zero chemistry with Mila Kunis. The showdown between him and the movie's villain (played by Gary Oldman) never works, partly because Oldman is way too hammy so that the religious implications are really drowned out - Most of all, Book of Eli has no sense of humor, and it makes for a very boring movie (in spite of the action scenes). It's not as bad as Heart Condition (where Denzel's kind lawyer's heart is transplanted into racist cop Bob Hoskins - really terrible comedy) or Virtuosity (where future cop Denzel hunts down cyber bad guy Russell Crowe - and again we needed to see Denzel bring some humor to the role), but its close.

Don't know about others, but I watched Equalizer 2 today, and loved the hell out of it. Denzel was phenomenal in it, though this part is no surprise. I loved that they delved deep into character and there were great emotional scenes. Though seems like I'm the only one, but who cares...

Indeed there is. Denzel Washington coming back as a Commando that only needs 30 seconds to murder a room of people. Plot for this one is they apparently kill one of his friends, and in the trailer for it he flat out tells them, in broad daylight : "I am going to kill each and every one of you, and the only regret I have is that I'm only going to get to do it once". Sold me on that line alone.
