Yeah it was awesome! I also love the stand up I saw him do online. He is strongly against cannibalism which I respect. Also I learned he was a vegetarian. But not a strict one, he still ate fish and chicken, and beef, pork, lamb, and BISON!

He was dead wrong about Trump and the risks and dangers he projected onto the Republic and didn’t take serious scholars of political history seriously, even conservative ones who recognized the dangerous demagoguery and populism. He blundered his way through the tea party movement too and never understood the real nature of that movement and the elites who funded it.

His stand up, called "Black & White" was great. It probably isn't as timeless as other stand-up gigs. But I bet it still holds up. He is at his dark, leering, sardonic best.
Never owned a tv until after my 30th birthday in 94. However, I never missed an episode of snl because my friends and often roommates watched religiously. We loved the original cast and were less enchanted until Dennis took over the news desk and Spade, Norm, Dana, Schneider, Sandler and Farley came along. You saved the show and it lives on. The few of us left alive still get together and watch your movies. Loved Spade's talk show but this is even better because I bought my way to no commercials. Keep on and Thanks. Just a few minutes ago I learned Dana lost a son. My heart goes out to his family.
Comedians really have a world and language all their own
Brilliant comedian for brilliant minds. And Spade's sound effects on point as usual.

That's why Monday Night Football got rid of him. Everything was over people's heads.
I recall my first exposure to Dennis Miller involved an arcane reference to the character of Hadji from the old Jonny Quest cartoon I watched as a kid. He's had me hooked since that day and obviously hasn't slowed down one iota. Great podcast.
Brilliant! Always laughed till I cried when Mr. MacDonald use to join Mr. Miller on his old show! Thanks for sharing gentlemen
Den-Den's metaphors and non-sequiturs are the absolute greatest. Used to love Dennis Miller Live and his running rants. Dude's just naturally hilarious.
One can tell that these guys are buddies in real life. They have such a natural conversation. One can really hear how much Carvey and Spade look up to Dennis Miller. Miller always came off as a bit brash because he was so sarcastic and sardonic, but he sounds like a very nice person. Surprised he gets nervous. Cool that he admits this. Very honest and vulnerable. No reason to be nervous Dennis. People love you. Wishing you well. These guys are so funny. Great show, guys.

Definitely saw a very likable side of Miller here. I always liked his somewhat snobby brand of humor, maybe because I was also a big reader and got the refs, but I like him even more as a man, now, too.
Dennis talking about how Johnny acknowledged a bad joke which was funny in itself and that’s one of the things I loved about Dennis’ Wkd Update and his 90’s talk show. A joke would bomb, he’d laugh, wiggle his tremendous head of hair and ppl would laugh. He’s great. Always loved him.
Dennis has a lot of hilarious nicknames and throwaway insults
Just discovered this podcast a month or two ago, have watched at least 30 or so. Although you have had GREAT guests, Dennis Miller and Chevy Chase have been my favourites. I just laughed my ass off the whole time!! Not only are Chase and Miller funny as fuck, but the way Spade and Carvey obviously love and revere them is a whole other level of entertaining and heart-warming! Love you guys, keep it up!!!
Great podcast guys!! What a great camaraderie between you old friends. Dennis is amazing as well as you guys!!

Very real and makes me appreciate what it takes, as well as understand a. It about what hundreds or thousands of folks go through who we never hear about. Thanks Dana, David and Dennis!

I saw Dennis Miller at local comedy clubs in San Luis Obispo, CA and Hermosa Beach, CA in the mid 80s (pre-SNL) - I thought he was hilarious, so when I was pleasantly surprised when he showed up on SNL. I remember he had a joke about how ridiculous a Big Gulp was: "Nobody needs 32 oz of any beverage unless they've just come back from the surface of the sun," and "Ronald Reagan is too old to have access to the nuclear codes - my grandfather is younger than him and we won't even give him the TV remote."

I probably need to look them up as well. Have you heard of Jimmy Brogan or George Miller? Norm used to mention them sometimes and they are pretty funny indeed, in my opinion. Brogan is totally clean and Miller not as much, i think. Steven Wright is another dry comic that gets mentioned too.
Love every Norm story I can find from his friends. The Dahmer joke must have been the origin of his joke when he's going on about some guy that brutally murdered and ate someone, goes into the grim details and ends with "in other words, this guy was a real jerk" 🤣

Dennis lost a very close friend, or family member, in 9/11 and felt the Dems weren't signing up for war fast enough. He got behind Jr43 and became more of a cheerleader than a comic.
