My dad is the one that built this car, looks and sounds even better in person. He's built many cars and always does a hell of a job, he's very "detail oriented" as some would say. Cool to see it featured on a big KZread channel like this

@Charles Daniel what? That was barely a coherent sentence. I don't honestly care enough to prove anything else. If you don't believe me why even comment? Just go about your day dude. You should have better things to do, if not that's pretty sad

This car just puts a smile on my face. Old school in the best way.
I like that thing. Loose sliding bench seats that get the fear level rising. A period correct hotrod with all the right sounds! Badass
What a fantastic car. Unlike a lot of the other build fads this never goes out of style.

The worst thing is in 1972 I remember going to a demolition derby at the county fair with my family and watching a whole bunch of 55 to 57 Chevy's being bashed beyond recognition in it. Who knew?

With the Tri -5’s when you look closely at the 56 you can see many of the best styling queues from the 55 & the 57 - I think it was underrated and this one turned out classy.
Thank you Dennis for shredding the clutch! Much respect for a man who drives with gusto. Most of all, thank you for banishing autotragics from your fleet. Save the manuals!

Dig it! Nothing like being like "Yup, it broke but I've got a welder, gimme 24 hours"
Tight 56! Love the tire/wheel combo!
Badass, OOOH fuck, it broke, see ya tomorrow and do it again. How cool is that. Thanks for parts 1 & 2.
Gear slammin old school goodness
This checks all the boxes on the cool chart, for sure! The front bumper delete makes it look mean. I'm not a tri-five guy, but this is badass!
Luv Denis' passion for old school hot rods. Simple straightforward Bad ass '56
Really looked like it was a fun ride after he got it to hook up and go after that little mishap. Personally find it badass that it’s a small block 56 too and it’s definitely not slow.
What a beautiful car and perfectly built, just classic. And it has three pedals, awesome just awesome. I'd daily drive it :)

i luuuuv this car...exactly how i remember them in the mid 60's. so glad he kept the sbc...283-327 small mains chevs were the best. this will *always* be cool
That is my Kind of Car. Going up in the 60s70s my Pop had many and Drag Raced them. I'm Old School and always will be!!! There's Rarely a car that I see that I wouldn't change a thing. This 56 is perfect. My Pops had one just like And Sold it in 1972 for $500 bucks I was 7 years old and in love with it. The Car was from Texas and Rock Solid. My Dad pulled the body off the frame and painted and replaced everything. The body was in primer when he Sold it and it had slicks on it and skinny up front. Post car 210 I think. Love it Love it!!! Keep the cars coming.
Just love how the front end bounces when he shifts.

LOVE THIS‼️My First car was a ‘56 Chevy Belair and I Still LOVE it Every time I see one! This sure brings back Lots of Fun Hot Rod racing for fun memories❣️I’ve been a car lover all my life ❣️Thanks Soo Much ♥️‼️
I love how the car jumps when you stab it.
Awesome! Building a 56 now that I have had for 50 years. Actually, rebuilding. Glad to hear him say he would like a big block in it as I have a 69 model 427 going back in mine. :) Good times!
I first went to the drag strip in the late '60s when I was 5yrs old. We took a lot of pictures there. This was the exact car I first saw there. The same mods too. They ran high 12's. I'm going to dig out those old photos today.

Fred Garvin, male prostitute. I'll bet you thought nobody would catch that one. I was a kid in the late 70's when SNL was in it's golden age, I saw all of them when they came out and some have stuck in my mind from the night they originally aired with Fred Garvin being one of them. Who could ever forget Dan Aykroyd trying to pose on that bed like a high fashion model, OMG my side still hurts over 40 years later I laughed so hard. It's right up there with the time the repairman came to the Lubners house.
That's one angry 56'. Awesome car and awesome build! My Grandfather had a 56' in the same color but with a white roof and rear quarters. This car brought back memories.

Is that neptune green?
My first car back in 1966 was a Hot Rod '56 Chevy. It had a "built" 327 (332) Isky roller cam, Mallory dual point, Edelbrock manifold 680 Holley and a 4speed Hydro trans, with a blown 4:11 Chevy rear end. I bought it from a Collage guy who needed the bucks and I put a '57 Pontiac rear-end in it. Street gears but built tough. This was prior to the Ford 9inch. The gearing wasn't right, but I drove it. What a fun ride. More power than I knew what to do with at 17. Anyway. The trans blew up and I was screwed. Then, I got drafted and I sold it to a Vietnam vet friend of mine. Back in those days Pontiac rear ends had BEEFY gears and axles. That was the way to go. Today, I so wished I had that '56 back again....Life goes on. In my opinion the '56 has the best lines of the three 55-57. But. That's just my opinion...
There's just something about an old Chevy, love the stance!
Things a rampaging beast ,wouldn't change a thing it's perfect!!!
Old school sweet. Poetry in motion........................
Oh man that was pretty cool! Have a merry Xmas guys.
I can't believe it! This is my '56 from high school! Same color even! I can't stop watching this video!

Memories of Whittier Blvd. 3 nights a week at Bob's big Boy or hanging out on a side street watching to see somebody to race down in Santa fe springs. Way too many cops on the Blvd. Plus you could run uncorked with less chance of getting pulled over. How cool to check out that sweet ride ! Autotopia LA comes through AGAIN!!

@@bryanluntz1603 We lived next to the Quad mall off laurel. The mall parking lot always seem to be where broken 396 Chevelles with a rod poking out of the block. Dead giveaway was the oil slick. So many years have passed. Funny you mention a Hillman. In the 70's I worked with a guy who had one. But he lived in Orange County, So I don't know if he ever hit the Blvd. His car was downright fearsome. All motor, fiberglass seats, He knew what it was capable of, but I only got one eye opening ride. My brother ran a 69 GTO judge carousel red. look orange to me. His Buddy had a 69 also Green black vinyl top. My 57 chevy was a 265 2 barrel so running anything other than a Honda 50 was about it. HA! I'll ask my brother about Tang, see if he recalls. So many cars that we never thought would disappear into the 80's. But the late 60's and early 70's was a wild time. holidays

Yes!!!! Old school cool! I love this car!
Loved this episode, that '56 IS what I grew up with as my dad's '55 had the same vibe. By far the best part for me , it is an old school hot rod and it broke, but was back side steppin the clutch. Full props!
That's what banging gears is all about!!!
Classic old school build. Love it. Remember tri-5's built like that back in the day...70's - 80's. Very, very nice build. Merry Christmas.
Listen here you fockers! The Monte Carlo from Tokyo drift was sick as hell! Had those slicks on all four tires. Mean looking car loved it!
Smiling ear to ear here too! Love old school, did some racing with my high school buddies in the 60’s That SB sounds awesome!
The cars keep getting better and better.
Those 4.88’s sure bring the revs up fast. Beautiful 56
He is such a legend. That’s one beautiful car he’s got too. I like how he knew exactly what was wrong with out even looking at it. That’s how you know he’s a real car nut. Great video!
My favorite ride you have had on so far
What a sweet ride love the light front end on the shifts
Hot rods like these are the reason I got into cars. Really cool ride. Absolutely love tri fives
Thats killer, I love nostalgia rods.

The ‘56 is like George Harrison of the Beatles ~ it’s really the best one and my favorite. Happy holidays!
Totally dig it. Love the retro hot rod vibe.
So awesome, I LOVE old school builds just have a classic magic around them that draws me in way more than something modern or radically custom.
Hard shedding, respect Dennis
Fantastic car, great gear banging that's how it should be driven!
Great memories man. My brother had a '55, my best bud a '56 & I had a '57. All the tri 5's. The "push bar" front bumper was definitely legit from the 60's. Nice!
Gorgeous. Actually love the colour. Reminds me of spearmint. Sounds spot on. Awesome job 🤙
Absolutely Pefect!! Thank you for keeping it an old school 3 pedal!!
This is one of the BEST videos yet! Keep ‘em coming!
Love the Tri-Fives. So cool.
This isnt a car, this isnt a hot rod...this is ART.
A very sweet 56 Chevy love it.
This is more like it, Shawn!! None of those rubber band tyres on oversized wheels - THIS is where it's at! Happy Christmas to you all from over here in Scotland :@D
I also old past 70. And I like that you kept the stock front suspension. Back in the Day to run in the gas classes a straight axle wasnt a requirement. Like you stated most straight axle cars where Ran in the Altered wheelbase classes.
Man thats one badass 56 Chevy Belair.
30 seconds in and I'm in love
Sweet! I love the drivers! I haven't seen a decent gasser in a while (maybe you can help), but this '56 Hot Rod can fill the gap until then.

I purchased a 56 Chevy 150 utility sedan that was built by Pacific Bell in Sanra Rosa Caif. It delivered phone books in our area. The shop that seviced it since new was the registered owner at the time I bought it...other than a paint shop and the six cylinder swapped for a 283" it still had the original upolstry. Still have it....but is now powered by a L-78 BBC with a six speed backed by a Chevelle 12 bolt rear with Alson ladder bars...Black paint with blue flames. The last of many tri fives that I've owned...LOL
It's so clean, amazing!
