Danish footballer Nadia Nadim was in the middle of commentating a World Cup match on TV last week when she received the devastating news of her mother Hamida's sudden death.
Appearing on Piers Morgan Uncensored live in Qatar, she opens up to Piers Morgan about the impact the tragedy has had on her, before telling him what it was like to flee Afghanistan with her mother and four sisters after her father was killed by the Taliban - and starting a new life in Denmark.

This is who you should look up to and respect, such a strong woman been through so much suffering and yet became a footballer, doctor, learnt 9 languages, such a positive outlook despite all the suffering. Not the poison of Cardi B, Minaj all these idiots who pretend like they have had a difficult life. Massive respect to Nadia and her mother.

Nadia is one of the most inspirational people on the planet. A true role model.
1) I heard of Hamida and her daughters, when they were living in Northern Jutland. She did one thing, that so many other immigrants in Denmark dont do: She made damn effing sure, that her daughters took their school seriously. ( The joke in the village was, that the five girls had half the IQ of the entire school). While so many other parents are whining and passive, she told her kids to get their fingers out. They did - and today they all have good educations and jobs. 2) Denmark should have minimum sentencing for drivers, who kill others. I hope the driver here, will never, ever get out of prison and that he will, forever, ve ostrazied by his village.

Persian and Dari are both same languages. In Afghanistan it is called Dari in Iran they call it Persian. But it is both same language

going on tv a week after losing her mother and talking about it as if it happened years ago is very strange to me...if you really love someone with all your heart you'd be too devastated to even get out of bed for at least a month, let alone go and talk about it without any emotion, like it's just recounting events...weird af.

People handle things differently. I’m very emotional in private but find it difficult to get emotional in front of people and I’ve lost family members. She’s also learned how to be very tough from her life circumstances. Don’t be so obtuse.
