​@@M4r1111 it's been like how many years since the last release of hinokami chronicles? I think it deserves a new game with good netcode, new characters and an updated story mode. New universal mechanics would also be hype, but I assume it will take the storm ninja approach and have more new character gimmicks instead of the former.

@@M4r1111 I mean you could say that about a lot of sequels but you can’t try and take away from the fact that if they had to constantly update the first game they’d be charging the next arcs as dlc and that makes 0 sense ya might aswell make a new game with possibly better net code possibly new mechanics making sequels doesn’t kill games it gives them more time to either improve or stay stagnant but well done or just simply fall off the first game was great sure but saying we don’t need a sequel is like saying we didn’t need DBXV2 when ya look back at how jank DBXV1 was 💀

The thing about hinokami chronicles is that out of any arena fighter, it has (what feels to me) the most balanced competitive gameplay in the genre. It's the pinnacle of what ninja storm 4 wanted to do, in that they wanted a competitively viable game. If ninja storm was the basis of all arena fighters, then Hinokami hands down is currently the best modern interpretation of the genre. It's just that a lot of people don't get to experience that :/ the community is small and the perceived notion of arena fighters being one button games are still strong, especially from the fgc community like me.

Here's my prediction for hinokami 2, they're going to wait until the anime wraps up which is most likely going to be 2 seasons and a movie

There are definitely smart ways to make the most of use of game assets that makes everyone happy across different genres, I think of the relationship between, Jojo: Eyes of heaven and Jojo: Battle Star R, or Street Fighter x Tekken from the games from installments at the time, it's fine to save money, just redistribute some of those funds into making a unique product in that's that worth our money in the end!

I think it's a good idea, but it makes me wonder will people complain and call it lazy. "These are reused from the board game ur lazy" i can hear them now

Imagine being able to simulate Upper Rank blood battles Gyutaro v. Gyokko, Gyokko v. Hantengu, Hantengu v. Akaza? It's going to be epic

Could also be buying time for the game. usually with license properties you're required to make a game within a certain period of time. So they made a lower budget party game that would also let them work on the actual big budget game longer

You can play with joycons and use motion, or any other controller. Even half a joycon. I play mostly with pro controller
