I assume this house was razed to allow for a new apartment building on the site. The house looked to be in reasonably good condition, considering its age (built in the 1920s, perhaps?). Someone had gone to the expense of re-roofing it with fire-resistant, engineered tiles, and the exterior paint appeared to have been kept up. The saddest sight was at the end of the video as we saw the front steps leading nowhere, to what only an hour before had been a proud home...

The excavator operator here needs to better understand the purpose of the swing motor, the swing motor and huge ring gear beneath the cab of the excavator allow the excavator above the tracks to rotate. The strength of the swing motor is not anywhere as close to the strength of the hydraulic operating the boom and stick. Swinging the cab and bucket sideways when demoing a house can cause the swing motor and the giant ring gear to break. Fixing that is a little difficult, you have to lift the entire cab, boom and stick off the tracks. Figure 12 hours of an inexpensive mechanic labor time plus parts ($4k-$6K parts). Most mechanics will also bill for a helper too. A real CAT dealer will charge a whole lot more. Do whatever you want with the boom and stick, anything, just be gentle with the swing.

Just what do think happens to the debris when it's hauled off? Most of it gets recycled. Stop believing everything the media tells you. It takes so much time and effort to build it, and just seconds to destroy it. That's how life is, too. Have you given your life to JESUS CHRIST? Do you have eternity secure? Jhon 3:16-21 16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.

So ru responsible for the haul away too or just the demo? And where is the water coming from?
What a wasteful world. So much that could have been salvaged, but of course the developer didn't want to have any salvage company waste a few days to come in and save it all. Old doors, fixtures, the roof tiles, interior tiles and cabinets, windows, even the columns in front. Sad. Almost certainly going to be another cheap block apartment just like the one behind it.
I think that they should put an Ames Department Store there because Ames is a very excellent store thank you.

Aside from breathing in all of the lead dust, your video has a thin black line along the left side for some reason. Excellent audio. 👍
Since the apartments next to it had asbestosis I’m sure that house had some in it and or lead paint!!!!
If I was the neighbor I would ask to buy some stuff like those front posts from the front porch.. Or some other stuff. Im sure the crew would be cool with selling if if they are jus gonna trash it.
Why not buy an empty lot (for less $$) and build your new "dream home".

Why would you mix all the different building materials when you have a modern excavator with a hydrologic thumb ??
what was the reason for tearing down this older home with a tiled roof, it looked to be in good sound condition. What a waste!!
You sure you got the right address?
Sad they are breaking this house up
Did you crush all the old woodwork that you showed in the preview? Would be cool to watch you destroy the inside sometime.
With demos, yes you haul away the demo. Are you responsible for a finish grade of the property?

Sometimes, it just depends on what their plans for the property are.
home wrecker: are you just a demolition company hired or are you like many of these people who would rayher tear down than fecou/ that is a direct question to you. I used to be in the excavation business, and i tried to save as many places as i could. i owned a coast to coast trucking company and bought and refurbished many homes giving people jobs as well as a new chance in life.

I think the government should enforce stricter recycling laws for demolition companies no doubt
@mikel9567

Just what do think happens to the debris when it's hauled off? Most of it gets recycled. Stop believing everything the media tells you. Just because it's hauled off to the dump doesn't mean it isn't recycled. Concrete will be crushed into aggregate, metal will be sold for scrap, wood gets shredded and used for numerous purposes. I bet at least 80% of that house will be recycled. Clearly you're a democrat.

If you are a Zionist, I will not participate. If you are a Christian and anti-Zionist, I will join you
It takes so much time and effort to build it, and just seconds to destroy it.

Omg it's just a demolition
Progress comes in many forms…we see a demolition but have no back story as to why…. A house being torn down is prob less valuable than the new structure to be built…or maybe the foundation was so bad it wasn’t cost effective. MAYBE no one wanted any of the wood work or trim…
