On March 21, 2024, the Jack Paynter Endowed Lecture was held at James Madison College at Michigan State University. Dr. Robert C. Bartlett, Behrakis Professor of Hellenic Political Studies at Boston College and author of "Against Demagogues," lectured on "Democracy, Demagoguery, and Tyranny." Dr. Emily Pears, Assistant Professor of Government at Claremont McKenna College, responded.
