Thank you for this vid. For me it was the only skimmer that would fit in my sump. But it works so well, so easy to adjust and tune. Straight out of the box it's plug n play. I love it

Had the same issue with my old one, over skimmed and could never get that nasty dark skimmate. Been running the 1000i for 1.5yrs and could not be happier! Very easy to operate and have success with right out of the box.

@@MelbourneReefer just got their calc twin tech reactor. Figured if their skimmer is that easy and consistent, let’s see about this.

Did you ever think of getting the maxspec jump skimmer 🤔

Not the jump, but the aeraqua duo. Nice features but very pricey and the deltec was more readily available

Would it be possible to route the air intake outdoors and still maintain the overflow protection feature?

Hey mate, unfortunately connecting a Co2 scrubber/drawing air from outside via the air silencer will disable the overflow protection feature, however you may be able to draw air in from the skimmer's collection cup. It's something I'd recommend you contact Deltec about as I don't have much experience with it!
