Are higher End Protein Skimmers Worth It

In this video, I compare a Deltec DC Protein skimmer to a Bubble Magus AC protein skimmer. As you will see the quality of the plastic and construction is worse on the Deltec than the bubble Magus but the performance of the Deltec is better due to its more powerful pump.

    Just a heads up, there isn’t a letter “N” in the name Bubble Magus.

    Do you know if you can upgrade pump in a bubble magus skimmer to a more powerful one ?

    @Martin Salmond there is an upgrade kit on fish street for some of their skimmers. Not really sure if it would be worth it.

    @@martinsalmond7943 the curve elite comes with a sicce pump so, I would assume they’re just about plug and play unless the bracket doesn’t fit..

    Thanks. Dont really have budget for expensive skimmer . I know curve 5 is a rock1000 pump, there is a rock2000 but not sure if same fittings
