This profession needs so calm man, and you are Sorin. I wish all the best in your life.
What a difficult dissembled laptop Thank you Sorin for a nice video
I work for a small electronics recycling company and often come across these dells with this exact issue. Very interesting to know now what the problem may be caused by. Unfortunately I never have the time to try and learn to repair at work. I am considering purchasing some broken units and learning how to fix them at home. Thanks very much for these videos.
Good. What a nice work man. Mine also has the same issue, but I'm glad to find the right person to help.
Really enjoyed this one, Sorin. A bit disappointing that such a modern and sleek laptop is so difficult to disassemble. But as usual, you found the way. I always like you when you think of old times and tell us what it was like. Will definitely check out the Chernobyl series you recommended. Sounds good!
Thank you very much! Very useful lesson :) My Latitude is alive again
Brilliant Sorin! I got one with same problem, and the same caremic capacitator was wrong! The owner said that she plugged in the charger and heard an explosion and then turned it off.
Another great job...thank you Mr.Sorin
thank you so much for your teaching, I really appreciate it
hi there, i appreciate your valuable time and knoeledge
20:04 look at the marks. PL2 and PL1. "L" always means coil, PD1 / PD2 - "D" means diode. PQ1/PQ4 - "Q" means transistor PC100 - "C" means capacitor PJP200 - "JP" means jumper PU8006 - "U" means IC/unit PR721 - "R" means resistor etc.

this is a interesting tutorial about caps but more than that..Sorin review a secret about bios battery in dell brand laptops....so thankful sir
You are perfect. Thank you for teaching us your experinces
Great repair!
real master ! :) and all than without thermal camera ! Respect !
You are the best Sorin. Please mention how you find out when the short is close or no.
I had a 5430 last week, I spent most of the day taking it apart, and putting it back together to replace the cmos battery. I had to completely disassemble the damn thing to get to the battery, I had over half a dozen piles of screws, and the screws were 3 different sizes. I ended up upgrading the CPU while I was there, that was the easiest part. It was prettymuch a full days work just replacing the damn coin cell battery.
Nice job. New interesting lesson.
Super Video.Danke!
Thank you for the video!
proper hard to disassemble thx boss
You are awesome Sir!!!
Sorin:This should be short video..... Dell: lol
It was a nice video as before thanks!
I love it - finally Friday!!! :):):):)
*Very Good Boris*
Sorin, I have experience with modern Dell laptops and the reason the laptop is not coming on right away after the BIOS battery is removed is because the BIOS is going thru an initialization and figuring out everything on the board. If you have the fan installed it will run it at max speed and cycle multiple times. Sometimes it even errors out and flashes the LED codes at which point you have to unplug and restart. Normally you don't touch the power button until the first screen comes up.
Nice one sir that was a nice one
Perfect...You are awesome idol...👏👏
GOD Bless U Man
I am fan of your all KZread video i like all video Chernobyl movie excellent i saw USSR President Mr Mikhail Gorbachev speech long back on youtube it self Thanks Vijay from India
thank you Mr
Thank you for sharing sir new supporters here
Thanks sorin
Mine had the same problem. No power on. No charging light completely dead. I unplugged the bios battery and shorted the pins and plugged it back in and its working fine now
many thanks, sir.
you are just awesome
A lot of business laptops used to be built this way, with components like RAM, the WiFi card and hard disk being easily accessible, but for taking out the motherboard or CPU fan one would have to take the whole laptop apart.
Very good
from egypt thanks alot
Sorin Come to Besiktas and teach us how to make needle probs pls...
Those dells if you remove the cmos battery, you have to try to power a few times and it takes maybe 30 seconds to display a image.
Dell happens to be an excellent vendor in providing documentation. I would have investigated if there was tear apart documentation for this laptop before preceding.

There is... For this and all their hardware.
Great Job tracking the problem, but how did you chose the replacement cap? no marking no schematic, just any cap will do or what? what is the trick in selecting replacement smd caps?
Amazing
_"You get what you pay for."_ ... Except if you buy a Range Rover, for example: _expensive_ AND _unreliable_ -like quite a few other 'prestige' luxury items, besides (including Macs, imo, assuming Rossmann's repair videos provide a good indication; ex: corrosion issues)! I think the 'you get what you pay for' idiom is more true for necessities (i.e. stuff you actually need), but rarely-if maybe ever-for stuff you desire (things you don't need, but are often suckered into desiring anyway, especially high-status items with perceived symbolic value). _"Value is paying for what you need, not what [you think] you desire",_ is how I would put it.
I like your watch:), can you say model it? good job, another nice solution video👍
How do we know if this cap we soldered is same farrad which we removed one ?
Bravo
This was really interesting. Thunderfoot here on youtube said that the film was not accurate because the explosion couldn't be that big what they described. That was an interesting video as well.
Very good movie How did you know what capacitor use ? Sometimes you only remove the capacitor sometimes add new why ?
What is the strip in the middle top of the bottom of the PC with the two indications on the both sides of it??
just a quick question,.,..,,.when you set you power supply to 19v...do you set up the amps also..or how do you know how much amps is there already when you inject the 19v ,,or you tuen the amps very low before you inject 19v..thanks
Wife and I are watching Chernobyl on HBO. Its really good! What a freakin mess!
Dell on its website provides the service manual for each of its laptops, to find it just search on Google for the "laptop name + manual", in my opinion you spend less time consulting it rather than improvising the disassembly, also with the manual there are less risks of damaging the laptop
Hi Firstly thanks for all videos I learn many things and resolve many computer by following your steps. But now i have a problem with fujitsu li 3910 When it reach 26% become (plugin ,not charging) .problem is when i remove battery the laptop couldn’t turn on with power ic only.battery should be in. I tried with another charger, but still same problem. Can you guide me pleas?thanx in advance.
I remember that period too , no wide leaf vegetables like spinach no mushrooms and for the following years no cigarettes , the worst known nuclear accident
Hi Master , why the cap didn't get very hot despite of that it got about 3.5Amp it must get hot too much
You are so good, thank's a lot for sharing. By the way i have a presario compaq cq60, external screen works but not internal screen. i did change the screen wire that goes from the laptop to the screen. the converter and the screen and still no internal image. so would it be a motherboard problem? LVDS line or voltage? My 3.3 volts is on tthe screen plug, my 19 volts goes on the plug too and 5 volts i think i saw too i'm not sure is also on the internal plug. External screen works fine. So, since it's not the graphic chip, what do you think i should check? You are the only one i trust to help me. Hoping for an answer. Thank's sorin. Best regards. Serge.

It was the graphic chip cause i did order another board and it works good lol!
When I was little, I also got iodine to drink after the Chernobyl cloud, I was in the 7th grade at the time. Poland is close. I understand what you mean when they lie to people.
You can use alcohol. Pour alcohol on the board AND TURN ON THE POWER SUPPLY. tHE PLACE WHERE ALCOHOL EVAPORATES FASTEST IS THE SHORT.
Have the same problem with my Dell E5450. Do you fix laptops?
Sir your tester is connected in the computer?
Hi! after doing a repaste on my DEll G2 3590 I got no charging led no fan spin. The first time I tried to power it on I saw the charging port led blinking white, but only once it was too fast for me to see the pattern. Tried Taking out the Bios coin battery, disconnecting the main battery and holding power for a couple of minutes. I checked voltage from charger and from battery and both are good even plugged to laptop I do not see any voltage drops. Does any one has an advice of what I am doing wrong? now I ill just connect to the charger for a couple of hours that the battery was completely dead. Help! I am running out of ideas.
When I plug in the charger to my laptop and press the power button, laptop fan and lights on for few second then dies..press the power button again and nothing happens..I found out that the lm358a ic gets warm when I plug in the charger..is it the cause? And can I use a lm358/ lm358p instead?
Hi, Help!!!!Please! Main 19.5V line is shorted but when power applied nothing gets warm/hot? Voltage drops to 1.2 amp is 5 Any ideas? Many Thanks
Wow!
You upload the second video first. This is the first video tho. Maybe youtube just finish rendering this video.
What a boss
Hello fixer/teacher.I have asus laptop and it is charging but when i push power button nothing happen. What could be wrong, shorted? Thanks for answer.
youcan test motherboard by using hdmi cable and without loose time by replacing it in laptop.
Mr. Sorin: _"I have to remove the screen; because, the hinge, it's over the motherboard. It's a crazy design. . . .So, everything is removed and the motherboard should come out easily, which is not happening-for some reason."_ ...Yep! The disassembly of these Dell Latitude-"Attitude"-laptops is awful: you need to take EVERYTHING apart to get to the motherboard! Misery. I just finished one (E5410), and it took _like_ 2 hours to carefully disassemble and reassemble the f***ing thing; and I still wound up with a "bonus" screw! I even dreamed this morning of finding where the extra screw was supposed to go! PTSD. Next time, I'll try Paul Daniels' technique of using a 15-compartments pillbox to keep track of roughly where each screw comes from, with respect to the laptop's overall layout; Sorin's expert approach of confidently shoving them to the side doesn't work for me! Hehehe. One good thing, though, the online Dell service manual gives _very detailed_ step-by-step instructions-with photos-on how to do the disassembly. Also, the electronics hardware looks pretty solid and full-featured, and I also like their 3 diagnostic LEDs setup (if you've got power).

i forgot the series, i got one at the moment, remove everything just for upgrade memory lol
Best thing about Dell computers is that they provide full featured detailed disassembly manuals for all their laptops. Free of charge which Ive loved about them since forever. For example here's how to remove the keyboard on that specific model. www.dell.com/support/manuals/us/en/19/latitude-e5250-laptop/dell_latitude_e5250_bdw/removing-the-keyboard?guid=guid-dbcdd0d6-5888-4d1e-ac3b-6737a2070bf6&lang=en-us
how do you know if the F of the capacitor is the same?
Your carbon resistors seems to be coils
Thanks for your teaching, please help me l am a computer technician, l have a challenge on dell Latitude 5490 not charging, not powering on with DC adapter but powering on with batter. I would be very glad to have your help on this issue thanks for ur cooperation

Termocamera for your iPhone is "FLIR One Pro Gen 3 - IOS". !!!
HI , did you had a problem with a BIOS chips on these DELLs ? Chernobyl - very good one , Russian media is pissed off big time for showing all this :D I have these Dells very often with bad boards and send them for repair every other month.
Hello, can you please help me. I have dell latitude e5570. does not charge Battery unknown charger in bios. I tried different original charger all the same problem. in bios test battery is excellent. if i put the dc jack in for only 3 seconds white light then off. greeting
❤👍Super ❤ 👍
If you find a cheap FLIR share with us pls
The real problem here was disassembly and assembly that laptop
Impressive...I really like the mention of 'crazy design.' Designers need to do better. How many thousands of these have simply had 'techs' replace the motherboards? I wish more people did actual repairs, very rare, and unfortunate.
@1:15:11 - HDD screws are not in.
Does the value of a replacement capacitor matter?
