Hi Sorin, I'm already convinced about the effectiveness of hot glue hinge repairs after you showed how to undo the glue in case of second repair attempt. I know a lotta people think that the main disadvantage of using hot glue on hinges is that it might make further repair on the device impossible. But you,ve clearly proven otherwise. I hope people will stop doubting you and start believing you for good. Thanks!

You really should limit it to 0.9v (0.8v to be safe) so if there is any kind of short directly to CPU, PCH, SIO or GPU then it is only receiving the normal operating voltage or less. But since we know on a desktop the CPU and GPU can usually tolerate mild overclocking and mild over-volting 0.9v and 1.0v are probably fine in 99% of cases, even on a laptop.

For those small ceramic capacitors those definitely have lots of redundancies and missing one is definitely not a big deal. However, if you are talking about the big black polarised capacitors (usually for VCore), those might have very little reduncies and I've had plenty of cases where one of them losing its capacitance (NOT short) renders the entire motherboard inoperative, and just taking it out won't change the problem.

Hi Sorin I have seen quite a lot of your videos, and you have given me quite a few tricks 🙂thanks. I am working on a DELL E7440, and I hope you can give a hint for that. it is shutting off intermittent if i twist or tap it hard, sometimes by it self. but it mostly run fine in bios or ePSA diagnostic and IF i fails, the only log i get is ASF2, that means it shut down unexpectedly. I cant see any fault visually on the board by microscope. 3V_ALW and 5V_ALW are always on, and I have measured and 3.3V_RUN - 5V_RUN - 1.35V mem - 1.7V VCC_CORE - 0.675V_DDR_VTT - 3.3V_ALW_PCH with an Arduino every 50mS, and they all die at the same time Only FAN, one RAM, and ext. screen are attached,
