Thanks. I got a second hand G3 3779 (17 inch) with corei7-8750H, 16GB and GTX1060 for $300 and I am very happy with it. I will upgrade the SSD to 1TB and I will replace 2TB HDD with another SSD.

Would definitely recommend it. Even if just adding a 2.5 SATA drive, the extra storage is nice for movies and files

I have same lp came 128ssd and 1tb hhd.. i wana ask how was the 4.0 speed.. and what ia the maximum size we can put? Like 1 or 2 tb? Also what is the maximum we can go for 2.5 inch SSD like 2tb ?

It did, games run much smoother and don't stutter as much, having a lot of chrome tabs open isn't laggy anymore, and you can have several background apps open

When I put the two Corsair sticks in the laptop wouldn’t turn on. Took the original out and it turned on. The Corsair 2x8gb worked but the 32gb (2x16) wouldn’t turn on

If i change 16gb of ram to 3If i change 16gb of ram to 32gb will it upgrade efficiently performance in degree it will be visible? I use my laptop to programming so very often i have many app launched. IDE, DB, some other tools apps and web browser with several tabs open can consume 12GB just like that.

You could search for a replacement screen that has 120/144hz, I think the higher end one with a core i7 had a higher refresh rate screen with the same dimensions you could look into buying! I'll do some research as well and make a video in the future on that if I can!

what Mhz did you used for this one?

Are you able to upgrade the processor from a i5 to like a i7 if you have the correct chip with paste needed?

No, because the CPU is soldered to the motherboard, it isn't possible

I've been getting 3,000-3500MB/s consistently. If it were in a 4.0 slot the speeds would be faster

I added 32GB of DDR4 ram from corsair, a 1TB NVME SSD for boot drive and for games, and then I added an additional 1TB SATA SSD for more games since at the time warzone was taking up about half of 1tb

hi, my G3's HDD is starting to fail, it became very slow and when I took it to the technician he told me that my HDD would soon die and I decided to save money to upgrade my laptop, so I bought 8GB of RAM, an NvMe 500GB and a Toshiba L200 1TB HDD. The NVMe I plan to use for the operating system, while the HDD for storage. Thanks to you, I already know how to place the components; Since my old HDD still works, I want to copy all the files to the new HDD, but for that I have to first place the NvMe as disk C, and that's what I can't do, I ran out of savings to send it to a technician. ..any help, what steps should I follow?

Do you have access to an external storage drive? You could attach and move the files to the external drive and then swap all new components in and then move the files back

Watch out for faulty hinges, they will rip the screws out of the monitor plastic. Dell will walk away

What speed of RAM did you install?

The RAM is 2665MHz, that’s unfortunately the fastest that this motherboard supports

2400mhz ddr4 laptop memory works with this laptop, you could use any brand of your preference

Does it will take 2TB 970 evo plus?

@@sanwalmuzammal a 2tb will definitely work, a 4tb would even work if you needed more space than 2tb, but the 2tb will most definitely work with this laptop
