I always opened it with my nails, but some may not have long nails... I upgraded memory, hdd and nvme about 2 years ago, shortly after I got the laptop. Now one of the fans failed, so had to order a replacement, and applied new paste as well after removing all the dust from the fans and heat sink.

Can the touchpad be replaced? Can't quite see if it is screwed down in the video. My touchpad doesn't work too well after 11 months.

Thank you. To apply new thermal paste, you have to remove the heatsink first.

I have a 2017 model, can you show how to open it up cause the last 2 screws wont come out.

Wonderful video. This laptop has an awful sound. Do you think that if I install a subwoofer from a Alienware or other dell laptop, could it improve the sound?. IF you have a better idea, please make a suggestion

My Wife's G3 isn't recognizing the AC adapter plugged into it so it won't charge. A week after the warranty ran out. Go figure =(. On the bright side, if it's only the DC jack that needs replacing, at least it'll be an inexpensive fix compared to replacing the laptop as a whole. Thanks for the video.

@@MyNameIsNidos It was my first thing to try. Alas, that wasn't it. I then replaced the battery and still no luck. The AC cable still lights up so I can only assume it's something far more expensive. Probably the motherboard but I can't be certain. :(

the gpu is irreplaceable, sorry. you'd have to buy a new laptop or get an external gpu if you want better performance.

Just upgrade my ram to 16gb for Diablo 4 recently. I can confirm that only 2666mhz for this particular model with I5 cpu

if you're talking about the G3 15 3500 model, apparently some people stated in some youtube comments and online forums that they have tested 2x16GB ram and it did run fine. but i'm not 100% sure it would work for everybody
