Amazing performance for the $$ and a great looking chassis

Nice content brow, I've recently bought this laptop with ryzen 7 + 3060 on black friday here in Brazil, up to now nothing to regret, has been a great experience.

I got this laptop as well. I'm very happy with it my only problem is I want to use it with a docking station. I want as few cables plugged in as possible, making it easy to dock and undock. I got a dell wd19s docking station 180watt. But the laptop shows an error that it does not allow charging via the USB c port. Is it possible at all to turn on and charge this laptop from a docking station? Thanks and great video.

I got the Dell G15 5515 with a 5800H and 130w 3060 in Australia.. awesome laptop with phenomenal performance for the $$ especially when I got it on special for under $2k... Only issue I'm having is the latest NVIDIA drivers released 16th November give a black screen when disabling optimus.. and the drivers before than reduce frame rates.. drivers before that work perfectly. Battlefield 2042 runs great on it - I use all HIGH settings

@@jasonrachlin1893 laptop display. I don't use an external monitor. The driver issue with the mux switch has been resolved with the latest December release NVIDIA drivers.

@@bluupbrr286 yes, 130w is the highest for the 3060.. mine came out from factory as 115w from memory but Dell released a vbios update that unlocks 130w.. very cool that a simply vbios update unlocks more performance.. also the same laptop has a bios update to enable the mux switch.

I just ordered this laptop and I was still a bit skeptical on how it will run when I’m gaming/working and you cleared my doubts thank you for thr enlightenment my good sir

I've never had an actual gaming computer before but I got Game Pass recently and figured now was the time. Wife saw one on a local marketplace and it was one of these, with an I7 and an RTX2060 and I'm in love with it. It does exactly what I wanted it to do and I feel like I got a really great deal on it.

Great laptop got the G15 5511 with the i5 3050 gpu 512 gb ssd and I put 16gb of ram in all together cost 1100 AUD on sale just came in today runs amazing for the price considering I upgraded from an Acer aspire 5 2018 model haha highly recommend this

@@Just-Kimj not really I did end up using my current setup with and additional monitor keyboard and mouse works wonders its really good for the price in terms of heading on the keybord not really its more where your palms rest it can get hot because the material makes your hands sweat and heat up but as long as you don't rest your hands in the same spot for long periods of time should be fine

@@carinaduro143 mate don’t bother. Mine had 4 hardware failures within 10 months. 2 motherboard replacements and other stuff replaced over 3 different repairs. Absolute joke of a product. I’m getting a new dell g15 5520 tho as replacement. Personally tho I would stay away from dell products too unreliable

A small doubt I have about the refresh rate: What is the best approach to locking games at 60fps (when they can’t run at 120 consistently)? Do you simply lock it in game or via nvidia control panel?

@@robertonome2448 Late to the party, but you can set 1/2 refresh rate vsync for any game by going into Nvidia Control Panel and setting vsync to Adaptive (half refresh rate).

I have a problem with mine that i cant install alienware command center

I just bought it and love it. Only thing weird is why the keyboard lights wont stay on even when I am not using them. Usually on my previous Insipron 15 7567 if the charging was in, the keyboard lights would stay on and I am just used to that cuz the keys are harder to see without the lights. Any suggestion?

No way for $799 in US, closer to $1200 from what I’ve seen, even during Black Friday. $799 would get you a 3050 version.

I have 2 questions 1. I just got a new gaming laptop (Dell G15 5511) and I’m not sure how to downgrade to windows 10 because it came with windows 11 2. I’m thinking of upgrading the ram because it only has 8gb of ram, do I have to replace the base ram stick and add 2 new ram sticks or only buy 1 new ram stick and keep the base ram stick in.

You should wait a bit longer if possible. RTX 40s in around the corner, not mentioning Intel ARC GPU too. Plus by the time those new GPU out in the market, the 11th gen + RTX 30s combos are gonna be cheaper than today. To be honest, mid 2022 is not the right time to buy any laptops/desktop considering incoming new GPUs three way war between Nvidia vs Intel vs AMD.

This laptop(rtx3050 ryzen5) or asus tuf dash (i5 11th rtx3050) which one is better ?. I need for light gaming and video editing.

The dell g15 is better as jarrod have listed it as one of the best laptop for this year, though for video editing I'm not recommending you to buy this one, better buy another laptop with better screen or just buy an external monitor with good screen

Definately this one.. I sold my ASUS TUF cus I wasn't happy with it and bought the Dell G15 Ryzen version 5800H and 130w 3060.. it's better than the Asus TUF I and in every aspect

What was the battery life you were getting on this laptop with regular browsing, how much with video playback, and how much with intense gaming?

I didn't play a lot with it not plugged in, but I certainly did try it out. Not the best battery life ever, but certainly not the worst either. When unplugged it was primarily used for browsing, or installing software, which lasted several hours, not really going below 45%. I didn't do any gaming on the laptop, while not plugged in so I can't really comment on that just yet. I can certainly put it on my to do list, and get back to you!

Cara preciso da ajuda de vcs, tenho um Dell G15 11800h com RTX 3060, comprei esta máquina em Janeiro de 22, usei a mesma até Maio de 22 com meu dispositivo de captura Thunderbolt AJA IO 4K ( Faço Streaming profissional ) e após as ultimas atualizações de BIOS a porta Thunderbolt parou e não reconhece mais o dispositivo. Tenho um PC que tem a Thunderbolt e tudo funciona normalmente o que descarta problema com o dispositivo ou cabo. Inclusive existe relatos na internet de outras pessoas com o mesmo problema. Fiz contato com o suporte DELL que não resolve e tenta se eximir da responsabilidade de deixar a maquina funcional alegando desculpas estapafúrdias diversas a exemplo de alegar inicialmente ser a versão do Windows que so funcionaria na Home Single e não na Pro, o que por si só é um absurdo pois a maquina rodava com pro e tudo funcionava, depois alega incompatibilidade do dispositivo que funcionou por 6 meses normalmente. Já vou entrar na justiça em desfavor da DELL. Mas gostaria de compartilhar isso com vocês que dominam o assunto mais que ninguém. Desde já Agradeço a atenção. Rildo Ferreira

I've a problem with that laptop.. I cannot shut it down with the usual way... The only way is to press Power button for some seconds.. But as soon as I open the cover.. The system opens automatically!! The system is Ubuntu.. But I will replace it with windows 10.. How can I manage this problem, please.

G15 5511 got a problem to wake up from sleep mode. Which means you close the lid, it goes to sleep, you open the lid, it will never wake up no matter how long you press the power bottom. The only way to solve it is to disconnect the battery, very unusable

You can change the colour of the keyboard by acquiring the keyboard upgrade on purchase. If you buy the stock standard version, you will not be able to customise the keyboard.

The 360Hz model, is the G15 Special Edition. This is not the G15 Special Edition, this is the Dell G15 5511.

Almost anything can run warzone on 120 fps with low graphics. This could run medium to high graphics easily however you may not get 120 frames. My old G7 has an I7 and 2060 and ran Warzone at around 90 with wicked good graphics

We only saw your face rather than the actual laptop...

One thing I hate most about the new dell. They no longer support 2.5 sata storage. The biggest meh.

On the ryzen version it's the full 130w (with a simple vbios update from Dell.. without the update I think it was 115w) not sure for this Intel version though.. I know the Intel 10th series only had the 90w 3060 from memory.. I think this one is also 130w though

Excellent machine and impressive that simple bios updates unlock such extra power..but yes it's strange it didn't come from factory like that and had a later released update

The battery is a disappointment

I really would NOT recommend this laptop for video editing or photoshop work. Just because it has a decent videocard doesn't make it suitable. It only has 6gb video memory, on a rtx 3060 and the max ram option is 32gb that's not enough for editing work. Also, you need to also review the screen panel, with these laptops sRBG coverage and refresh rates make or break laptops. You also didnt cover whether this laptop has a MUX switch rather in the BIOS or physically, it can boost gaming performance significantly. As far as UI goes, they differ per model of this laptop. The Ryzen versions only go up to a single 3.2 USB port and the rest being 2.0 where as the Intel 3060 versions have all 3.2 USB and a thunderbolt port.

For professional editors, this is not a good fit. It's a budget laptop. I'm owning a i5 version with max 64gb of RAM. It's weird this higher version max at 32gb RAM.
