brady is such a genuinely interested host. it's so refreshing to listen to an interview where the interviewer asks actual interesting questions based off of what the interviewee was saying. he sounds so excited and interested in each and every thing she said and even when she dismissed something as stupid or uninteresting he still was so invested

At 5:35 when Hannah mentions formula 1, I was instantly like "ooh, what's the formula one, some new, unsolved billion dollar math(/theor.chem.) problem?" xP
I'm only 5 minutes in, but you both have me smiling already! Brady, you definitely have top-tier interview skills!

A pleasure to spend an hour in such great company. Hannah has an amazing voice and a great sense of humor.
This made me smile so much - love Hannah, love Brady, perfect combo! More Hannah on numberphile please!!!
I could listen to Brady and Hannah talk for days
These go by flying. I'm loving them! This one was the best one yet.
Great interviewee and excellent interviewer. On a Hannah binge - this was really fun. Great work!

the last 50 minutes were really great, thanks a lot! 11/10 :D
Thanks for an enjoyable interview. Motivated me to plow through some dull desk work (taxes, etc.) while I listened. Looking forward to more!
Really nice podcast. Looking forward to the next episodes.
Sweet, thank you so much for this!
A really delicious episode, thank You.
thank you. those podcast are amazing!

this was absolutely wonderful
This was so entertaining, thoroughly enjoyed it :D
36:20 _"It's important to look back at what you've done and acknowledge where you can improve"_ Spot on, Hannah!
Loved this sooo much! i'm studying maths at uni and trying to work out what working as a mathematician would be like and whether to do it. This really helped! :)

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ of ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for the podcast and Hannah Fry.
Brady nails this interview. It's easy to forget just how talented he is. Wow, 10/10 interview. Bravo.
Great podcast. Keep it up, Brady! (Listened to this on the numberphile webpage on mobile, but came here to comment.)
Love the podcast. I look forward to Computerphile and Periodic podcasts as well.
Great first Numberphile Podcast...I bought Hannah's new book on Audible, so I could literally hear it in her voice!
Another great podcast
My irish mom was exactly the same! Always saw education as the way to improve your outlook and your children's!
Holy crap I actually happened to have used the app Dr. Fry mentioned around 32:00 ! I wish there were more podcasts like this on the internet. Thanks for starting this one Brady. I wish there was one for astrophysics and chemistry too, on the respective channels, you know where. Do it Brady!
Absolutely delighted to see Hannah present the Royal Institution Christmas Lectures this year, inspiring the next generation. Great work Hannah!
This was a great interview - I expect because of the great interviewer and great interviewee.
Hannah's laugh is so contagious
This was brilliant.
Hannah swearing? Unusual but I like it
Fantastic.
Loving these Podcast episodes! Would love to hear one with Matt :) And I really like the idea of "writing" your book while walking by dictating it.
So good.
I love this, and if it's somehow possible to get some of the Sixty Symbols or Computerphile on here would be awesome!
One hour of Hannah?! Sign me up!
The more I hear this lady speak, the more I adore her.
Very interesting to hear the last bit about what might be the next "thing," given the documentary film and the great stuff she is doing "outreaching" for patients. Good stuff!
Hannah Fry? Instant Thumps-Up :D
For a guy who usually doesn't talk in his videos, Brady is a natural at conversational interview podcasts. Really enjoyed this.
I wish you had videoed the interview, Brady. I loved it when Hannah admitted to being a nerd. I loved the story of her writing her first book "Free as a bird" :) Massive nerd LOL but wanted to be a hairdresser. She's very entertaining and has a lovely upbeat personality.
Brady always picks the best video footage for his podcasts, I just get lost in them, for this podcast series and the Hello Internet series, I can just sit and listen and watch the repetitive video footage for the whole time and not get bored.
Love, love, love, the Fry ...Hanna.

Hannah Fry, Your book Mathematics of Love, did impacted me more than ever other "pick-up" artist. And thanks to your Backus story I did unexpectedly end up married while before I was stucked with relationship with the other sex. Thank you so much for your help. Math works!
Awesome interview, 14/10
It's so lovely to learn about the lives and inner worlds of these people! I learned so much about Dr. Fry that I never would have expected! Also I absolutely _must_ read _Free as a Bird._
I too was amazed how boring designing aircraft was, decided to go into building them instead, the physical side was surprisingly satisfying.
Left Formula 1 because there wasn't enough math. Hannah is great. Good interview. Looking forward to more of this podcast.
Holy moses, a book in 6 weeks?! That is outrageous.

Love of my lifeeee
I'm so mathematically in love with Hanna Fry...
She does herself a disservice when she talks about The Mathematics of Love; I really enjoyed it. I got it as an audio book on the back of her video about choosing toilets, so had her reading it. Perhaps it isn't the Poincare Conjecture or anything heavy going like that, but it got clever, interesting concepts and applied them in a way that someone without a maths degree would understand, as well as being entertaining by it being a little bit silly. I frequently bring up in conversation stuff I learned from it.
So you made sure that Numberphile episodes that Hannah is in are not divisible by 2?
My only problem with this, is that it is way too short! :)
You have a podcast? I think I've discovered Phile's Number: the maximum amount of podcasts I can subscribe to before I explode, and it includes yours of course :)
Hannah is such an icon
and I was hoping for Hannah talking about Navier-Stoke's equations :D...

Are you in the UK required to do professorship as part of a PhD program?
"You're like a professional mathematician, though!" "Yeah, but not like a good one." The moment I fell in love with Hannah.
Keith needs to get his hand on "Free as a Bird"
Ok. what I got was that if you keep saying yes to things you'll get jetpacks
Title isn't public intellectual. Disappointing.
can we have a part 2? Regarding the pandemic...
Hannah is so cool.

Hannah fry you have a delicious voice. ♥️
Brady, Leaving a comment about this interview would be like leaving a critique of perfect, delicious bowl of Chowder and the wine. I love how you pick on her, she is such a good sport. I love her laugh. I would have to give Dr Fry (Brady, that's Hannah :-) ) the following number of STARS ... [Choose a four-digit number, with each digit different. Scramble the digits to create a new number. (For instance, if your first number is 2,357, your second number might be 7,325.) Subtract the smaller number from the larger, and add together the digits of the resulting number. If your sum is one digit, go no further. If your sum is a two-digit number, then add the two digits together. ] or 9 Algebraically, what you have is (9x + r) - (9y + r) = 9(x - y). You Brady, Schrödinger's Cat. The answer depends on if Wally ate the cat. Very fun, excellent humor, but did Hannah wear white medical tape on her glasses in high school to keep the lens from falling out??? (The true geek, nerd test)
Big thanks to Hannah's mom for pushing her away from her hairdressing dream. We don't know what the hair design community lost in that deal. But we know the Maths community won a wonderful spokeswoman.
Hannah: I wouldn't have written a book in a million years if someone didn't approach me. Also Hannah: I wrote a book when I was 11 and it was rubbish
Hannah Fry public intellectual, thought leader, TV mathematician
Also, F1 broadcasters should have her guest commentate for a bit. It would actually be interesting then.
That disarmed laugh at the end for calling her a public intellectual...
