I broke my phone in the beginning of quarantine and didn’t get a new one until a year later. It was really hard in the beginning but I absolutely loved it. I realized I would reach for my phone when I was bored instead of doing something creative or beneficial or taking care of myself. Now I never take my phone out when I’m with friends. I don’t immediately want to post everything. My personal life is personal again and I adore it.

This way you can limit your use of social media during the day and get the best of both worlds (being productive but also doing what you love on socials!) if you run out, you’ll eventually learn that you have to space it out during the day. It’s so nice!

As an orthodox Jew, we have this every week for sabbath. I have grown up with a built-in rest day from social media (and electronics in general). I feel so lucky to have days like this in my week where I can just unwind and focus on the smaller things, like family, or even just sitting down to read a book. I'm so glad that you were able to experience that and find time to be more productive! I always find it so interesting to see people doing this and finding out what else there is to do in day-to-day life!

Yess, I definitely think people need to be more present when with their friends. That is the one time when I am barely, if at all, on social media because it's important to me to make them feel like they're being paid attention to and to just be present with my friend because they're my friend and that's how it should be.

I did this for 3 months once and I read so many books, it was before Covid so there wasn't that *cough* issue, but I was still able to keep up with the news through the NYT app, and see my friends at school. I also felt like my time was so much more open for new things. I loved it.

I love how Colleen is responding and reading the comments! That says something about her humility, to be incredibly famous, and talk to and and listen to her subscribers. Love you Colleen!

just wanted to say that youve easily become one of my favorite youtubers to watch and i admire how kind and selfaware you try to be. i say try, not to be shady, but because everyone makes mistakes and i admire how you take ownership of the mistakes youve made in the past and how you move forward. love you colleen !

I have been off social media for 2 months, I think it has helped me mentally in so many ways. A lot of what would come on my feed was peoples "highlight reel" which would in turn make me feel bad about myself. It was getting pretty toxic for me, but now that I'm done with it all I don't feel like I'm missing it at all and Im not consumed with what someone else is doing, Im just focusing on me and my family.

Colleen in your phone settings you can place a time limit on how long you can use your different apps for. It's really easy to do, I use it for my social media.

When I am in a bad place with my mental health, I often find myself comparing myself to people’s social media lives. This always makes me feel worse, so I go on a social media detox when I feel like this. After a couple of days I feel better and I log back in!

I have been watching Colleen film videos for almost 3 years and to see her go through pain during a pandemic is hard.She deserves this vaccine so much.And I am so happy that she see’s a light at the end of a tunnel. So much has happened in the past year with a pandemic but I’m just happy that it is starting to calm down. It has been a rough year for me and my family.
