My parents did that when I was 10 lol but we’re a family of seven so I was Cheshire Cat, my mom was the Queen of Hearts, my dad was Mad Hatter, my older sister was Alice, my younger sister was the Caterpillar, and my little brothers were Tweedle-dum and Tweedle-dee. But my brothers didn’t like being called Tweedle-dum so we called them the Tweedles. We’ve also done the whole Scooby gang catching bad guys. One of my brothers and I were dressed as zombies but without the masks on and had ropes wrapped around us. It was pretty great aside from when I actually had to do something, hard to move when you can’t 😂

Since Maisy hates synthetic uncomfortable fabrics, you can just make (or have made) the costume you want for her in a softer fabric. She could still be Tinkerbell for example, but have her dress made in cotton or something.

Just saw on insta a cute family outfit where it’s toy story themed and they had the two babies be the front half and back half of Slinky (the dog) with the curly wire connected between them. It was adorable 🥳🙌

The best part of this video is Erik saying "I'll call you right back I have to catch a cockroach" Husband of the year! But also the children are freaking adorable

flynn’s superhero costume is owlet from Pj Masks! if he doesn’t watch it already, that may be a cute show to get him into!❤️❤️

To help with Maisy’s texture aversion with clothing you can try putting summery/thin plain white (or whatever solid color you want) pjs on her under the costume. That way very little of the costume is actually touching her skin. We do that here in Michigan usually like heavy sweatpants because Halloween is cold as hell here.

i seriously love seeing flynn express himself how he wants. a lot of the time, parents wouldn’t let their boys wear an owlette costume, because the original character was a girl, or the fact that he loves gabbys dollhouse, which is normally shown as a “girls show”. it’s so cool seeing you completely accept him and what he wants to do/be

Yes, and he freely loves trucks and tractors and bugs. He’s balanced and gets to be free. He’s so sweet and caring. Colleen and Erik are great parents.

Colleen, you are an amazing mother!! You let your son pick out his own costumes, and I know a lot of parents who pick out costumes for their kids that are big enough to make those decisions for themselves. Also I love that when Maisy doesn't like the costumes you don't make her keep it on, or still wear it for Halloween, but you just take it off. One tip for kids who have fabric texture sensitivities- put long leggings on them, not tights, but thicker leggings or even sweatpants, and it will keep the texture of the costume away from their skin. This was the cutest video ever!!

Poor Maisy. The costumes were all super fun. Not gonna lie that cockroach costume was pretty cool. Your kiddos are so stinking cute. You could do Alice in Wonderland as a family. You could be the Queen of Hearts, Eric could be the Mad Hatter, Flynn could be the white Rabbit, Maisy could be Alice, and Wes could be the Cheshire Cat. I think that would be so cool! I can't wait to see what you choose!

Ok I just had to pause this video squeal at the top of my lungs!!!! You for sure listened to us when we asked you to come to North Carolina!!!!!!! I'm SOOOOOOO excited!!!!!!!! I'm in tears right now. Alice in Wonderland theme with the twins as Tweedledum and Tweedledee would be cute! And there are so many characters to choose from for the family!

Flynn in the Owlet costume melts my heart😭 PJ Masks was the show I would watch with my little cousin. He loved Catboy and I loved Gecko so I guess Flynn can join us😂

I thought I was losing my mind when you said “generic superhero costume” and I was thinking “how adorable! I didn’t know kids still did PJ masks”. But apparently they don’t, my twins are now 11 and their older sister is 13 so my kids programming is outdated. But that is absolutely Owlette from PJ masks. ❤️❤️

My daughter has watched pj mask very rarely and I still knew what it was from. Even scrolling through Disney plus you’d see the character

Cute Halloween costume would be like superheroes since Flynn loved his red superhero outfit I love you and your family and I love your videos

So cute! Maybe you could do the Little Mermaid! You as Ariel, Erik as Prince Eric, Maisy as Flounder, Wesley as Sebastian and Flynn as Ursula!

Something so adorable and admirable about how much Flynn loved that superhero costume before he had even looked in the mirror. He was that excited simply over the way it made him feel. Thats how I aspire to feel in my clothing! lol

lol the costume Flynn liked was of the character Owlette from PJ Masks 🤣🤣 my daughter was the same thing. Very cool!
